The purpose of this study was to compare dietary culture consciousness of rural and urban housewives through a nationwide survey. Interviewers interviewed 500 housewives(250 in rural and 250 in urban) using closed-ended questions. The dietary culture consciousness was divided into two parts of traditional aspect (dietary habit and ritual diet) and desirable aspect (food choice and nutrition knowledge). Each domain consisted of six items. Results of the study are summarized as fellows : 1) As a whole, dietary culture consciousness of rural housewives was more traditional than that of urban housewives in traditional aspect, and there was no difference of consciousness between rural and urban housewives in desirable aspect. 2) There was significant difference at 1% level between two groups in traditional aspect and there was no difference in desirable aspect. 3) By the analysis of each item, there was significant difference between two groups in 14 items. Especially, the item of westernized breakfast pattern was more acceptable in urban housewives than in rural. 4) In relationship between socio-demographic characteristics of housewives and dietary consciousness of them, age, educational level and religion of housewife were significant in traditional aspect, and so were educational level and job experience of housewives in desirable aspect. Dietary consciousness of rural housewives' was influenced by job experience (in traditional aspect) and age of housewives and level of living (in desirable aspect) In the case of urban housewives, level of living was significant in traditional aspect.

Considering the established research about the characteristics of traditional expression in a contemporary korean architecture, there are two critical problems. the one is that the extent of a case is limited to a public building and a large exhibition building. the other is that the angle of research focus on the viewpoint of specific a level. To settle these problems and supplement a established research, this study is to investigate and analyze the characteristics of popular traditional expression in small commercial buildings. In A viewpoint on the expansion of a case and a various angle, A small commercial buildings is selected as a case. because it is felt that the populace's taste vis-a-vis traditional expression. To investigate and analyze, A main analytic criterion is follows. 1) A expressional method on traditional architectural form 2) A expressional aspect by architectural element 3) A expressional aspect in architectural material 4) A expressional aspect in architectural structure. In consequence we can find out the following results in the process of analysis. 1) In expressional method on traditional architectural form, the traditional expression is represented as the imitation and transformation of a traditional folk house forms, and the embodiment of traditional image 2) In expressional aspect by architectural element, the traditional expression elements is mainly represented at a straw roof and a mud-plastered wall 3) the traditional expression material is mainly straw, timber, small wood boards and mud 4) In expressional aspect in architectural structure, the traditional expression is represented from the viewpoint of decorative expression.

This research discusses the unique characteristics of Japanese video game from the cultural viewpoint of Japan's traditional play. It starts with the possibility that Japanese video game can share the characteristics of traditional Japanese play. Accordingly, this research first considers the connection between play and video game for a theoretical background, by comparing their theoretical definitions and characteristics. Particularly, it shows the research direction from the viewpoint of Ludology that approaches video game from the aspect of play. Second, the characteristics of traditional Japanese play are examined in connection with Japan's inherent animism culture. Based on such characteristics, the common characteristics and backgrounds of Japanese video game and traditional Japanese play are discussed from the 'spatial' aspect of game, from the 'identity' aspect of game characters, and from the 'motive' behind playing game.

Korean urban traditional housing abandoned by the social apathy promptly disappearing form our sight, or ruining. It tells that the strategies we are using today are impossible to fulfill socio-economic needs of residents here. So it needed to find out the strategies which can change this place better to live in. Consolidating the street parking lots fer cars can be one of the important solutions to the area. By using cul-de-sac, after setting up small unit of communities, we will have chance to have a small public space, and at the same time it can help to set up our tradition of people's intimacy inside the community. Most people have their own cars, and the need of parking lots becomes more serious. So, a meeting place like public well in the past must replace parking lots. On the other hand, it is important to re-consolidate existing land to obtain appropriate land size for other uses. Today, the use of private space (house, private lots, etc..)and public space(streets, local offices) is very important. NIMBY (Not In My Back Yard) attitude should also be reconsidered. All these negative social aspects come from negative social relationship, thus we should consider them with care and deep understandings. The traditional housing of Korea should not be abandoned as slum, but this should be transformed in terms of the conservation since it is superior in its ecological and energy conservation aspect.

We have lost our true characteristics without being grown and development of our traditional beauty in state of drawing into a whirlpool as the environment of western cultrue. So, to be existed for self-sown capability of our traditional culture, we'll have to keep up with the unique and creative Korean traditional furniture design through the synchloization between 'Traditionalism in our already westernized life' and 'Korean identity in our already westernized life' and 'Korean identity in worldwide culture' based on independent position by correct view of worth, as for the escape from attitude of receive on western culture in recklessnese. Hereupon, first of all, after reviewof fornuclation backround and characteristics in traditional furniture to be established by an ancestor, based on this and extract the conceptual language, it was presented past published works as for the approaching method toward physical form aspect by use of pattern of modern access method. Secondly, it was the symbolic approaching from method based on traditional and cultural context. Gradually, the embodiment of traditional image, in today's features of our furniture loosing the particular cultural identify is very important aspect, and beside above mentioned two methods, it should be investigated as for the diversified approaching study. Thereafter, we'll have to establish the positionof our modern furniture in global wordwide, for seek the beauty being interrelated form past historical communications, under the circumstance of original and future-oriented value.

The globe-trotting trend has been converted from tourism for the simple purposes of sightseeing and enjoyment to a form of learning and practicing the more specialized contents by directly participation. Traditional cultural resources have sufficient potential as culture and tourism assets that fit this kind of trend. Therefore, building proper tourist resources for their application has become a very urgent and important matter. To make masterpiece tourism packages through combined services of traditional cultural resources, it is necessary for operators to ponder diverse methods that can be used to develop various experience programs and conserve traditional cultural properties by continuously generating profits. The major results of this research are as follows. Firstly, this study proposes plans for unified tourist information and combined services of traditional cultural resources based on ubiquitous IT. Secondly, it is ascertained that the organization of combined operational consultative groups and the improvement of operator' capability are required to execute combined services of traditional cultural resources. Thirdly, we propose business plans to generate profits in both product aspect and network aspect.

The Kut is the core of the traditional folk religion. The afterlife wedding Kut actually performs a traditional wedding ceremony by personifying the deceased in the process of performing the composition of Kut geori that cannot be observed from other Kuts, which is an important means to convey the situation of Kut more clearly. A traditional wedding ceremony performed in the Kut enables the audience to understand the meaning behind the Kut. The costume worn in the traditional wedding ceremony of the afterlife wedding Kut makes the audience understand the existence of the deceased by the use of a scarecrow dialect and makes them feel a vivid sense of the scene emitting from the Kut, which performs a traditional wedding ceremony in the composition of Kut geori. The results of this study showed that a shaman who led the afterlife wedding Kut had a scarecrow that symbolized the bride and a bridegroom wear the traditional wedding costume in order to visualize the deceased and express the symbol of a wedding which could not be made in this world. It can be interpreted that the traditional costume derived from the afterlife wedding Kut plays a symbolic role, which converts the deceased into a living person through the formal aspect of ceremonial costume and the cultural aspect of wedding ceremony.

The purpose of this study is to consider activation methods of traditional markets in Jinju city through questionnaire and field survey. Research framework is summarized into two categories: physical environment and operation program. The results are as follows: 1) the gross profit on sales has been decreased continuously and the main causes of that have been recognized as insufficiency of parking lots and convenient facilities and deterioration of environment in spite of facilities modernization project; 2) consumers visited a traditional market because of proper price and reliance on goods, etc. However, they were not satisfied with the physical environment such as parking lots and resting spaces and the operation program such as cultural event and performance. In conclusion it was thought that activation methods of traditional market would be related to the improvement plan in the physical aspect such as parking lots, walkway, convenient and crime prevention facilities and in the operation program aspect such as cultural event, marketing, management consulting, information infrastructure, and delivery system.

Objectives: Systems biology is a novel subject in the field of life science that aims at a systems' level understanding of biological systems. Because of the significant progress in high-throughput technologies and molecular biology, systems biology occupies an important place in research during the post-genome era. Methods: The characteristics of systems biology and its applicability to traditional medicine research have been discussed from three points of view: data and databases, network analysis and inference, and modeling and systems prediction. Results: The existing databases are mostly associated with medicinal herbs and their activities, but new databases reflecting clinical situations and platforms to extract, visualize and analyze data easily need to be constructed. Network pharmacology is a key element of systems biology, so addressing the multi-component, multi-target aspect of pharmacology is important. Studies of network pharmacology highlight the drug target network and network target. Mathematical modeling and simulation are just in their infancy, but mathematical modeling of dynamic biological processes is a central aspect of systems biology. Computational simulations allow structured systems and their functional properties to be understood and the effects of herbal medicines in clinical situations to be predicted. Conclusion: Systems biology based on a holistic approach is a pivotal research methodology for understanding the mechanisms of traditional medicine. If systems biology is to be incorporated into traditional medicine, computational technologies and holistic insights need to be integrated.

This study investigated the effects that corporate social responsibility (CSR) had on the credibility and image of a food corporation by analyzing the purchasing intention and food purchases of consumers. This analysis was undertaken in an attempt to establish a marketing strategy that meets consumer demands, and the results showed that all CSR activities undertaken by the food corporation had a positive effect on the reliability and image of the corporation and on consumers' purchase intention. The results indicate that the ethical aspect of the CSR activities had the greatest effect while their charitable aspect had the least effect on the reliability and purchase intention of the customers regarding the food corporation. Thus, it appears that establishing of suitable ethical doctrines and guidelines for corporate management by food corporation is effective in emphasizing the ethical aspects of their policies through transparent management by means of fair trade.
