Objectives : In the traditional oriental medicine, efforts to utilize the knowledge system so called Ontology have been achieved for systemic researches and efficient propagation of knowledge on oriental medicine. So far, in Korea, studies on drug ontology, pathological ontology, Cold Damage ontology and diagnostic ontology had been implemented, however, any development of ontology in the field of Acupuncture &, Moxibustion has not been achieved. Methods : We used Microsoft Access to collect terms in ZhenJiuJiaYiJing. The terms are related to human body area and structure. And then we built relationship of 'part of' and 'criterion of acupuncture point location' between the terms. Result & Conclusions : The terms used to explain acupuncture points in order to describe the position of acupuncture point name in ZhenJiuJiaYiJing were 8 words concerning different name of acupuncture point(穴名) 109, body part name(人體部位名稱) 150, meridian(經脈) 6 and structure(構造物).
There are people. however, who do not understand what science means, especially among those practicing Oriental Medicine. They associate science with machines and consider that science is something not applicable to Oriental Medicine because Medicine is for humans not for machines. Science is a system of knowledge of universal facts and laws obtained based on objectivity, which under the same conditions gives the same results no matter when, where and how it is done and no matter who does it. To achieve development of that level, knowledge and technology from all areas should be considered and, if found useful, should be accepted. The immediate hurdle is to make Bang-Jae Science understood. So far Bang-Jae Discipline as understood by the practitioners of Oriental Medicine is nothing more than selecting prescriptions inherited from the predecessors that match given symptoms. To make Bang-Jae Discipline a science. i.e. Bang-Jae Science, we should not only study the traditional literature to gather data, experiment and verify with them one after another. make them objective and carry our scientific systemization. It takes fresh and creative trials but it will surely contribute to the future medical science.
"Soayakjeungjikgyeol(小兒藥證直訣)" written by Jeon Uel(錢乙, 1032-1113) in the Song dynasty, is the most old and well know specialty publication of pediatrics in Easter Traditional Medicine. "Soayakjeungjikgyeol(小兒藥證直訣)" made a big influence not only on the development of pediatrics in later traditional medicine through the explanations of physiological and pathological knowledge and experiences, but also on application of many effective prescriptions which have been used in many clinics until now days. One of the most important meaning which "Soayakjeungjikgyeol(小兒藥證直訣)" has, is that it emphasized on the diagnosis and treatment using the theory of five organs(五臟辨證), and applied it to clinical medicine effectively. In othe words, through application of the theory of five organs in "Hwangjenargyeong(黃帝內經)" to practical field, Jeon Uel(錢乙) played role of a ring connecting with studies of herbal medicine in the school of Yeoksu(易水), and the development of the theory of five organs of the four prominent doctors(金元四大家) in the Jin(金) and Yuan(元) dynasty. In this article, also it is investigated that how the theory of interaction among five phases(五行), can be applied to treatment of pediatrics through analysis of related texts in "Soayakjeungjikgyeol(小兒藥證直訣)". This studies would be useful to understanding the history and properties of the theory of five organs.
Objectives: Following the Jin Yuan Dynasty, the Ming and Song Dynasties witnessed a great development of Yunqi xue. A study into this development has a vast significance in studying the history of the development of traditional Chinese medicine. Methods: The contents relating to Yunqi within the Comprehensive Medical Books, published during the Ming period, and medical texts separately published specifically dealing with Yunqi were used in order to review the unique characters of the study of Yunqi during this period. Results: There were many cases in the comprehensive medical books during the Ming period that dealt with Yunqi. Some of the examples are: Yunqilu in Yixueliuyao, YunQiZongLun in Yixuerumen, and Yunqilu in Yixueliuyao. A number of books that followed suit from the previous generation's study were published, the examples of which are Wangji's Yunqiyilan, and ZhangJiebin's LeiJingtuyi. WangJi, in his book, opposed the mechanic utilization of YunQi theory, and advocated the flexible application of the theory at the doctor's discretion. Liwei, in his YunQiZongLun, wrote a great deal of knowledge which he gained based on the previous-generation medical masters' achievements. Conclusions: Yunqi became widely accepted during the Ming period which led to some doctors advocating the flexible application of the YunQi theory, and some doctors even completely denouncing Yunqi.

As a result it is not different in the concept of Life each other except for speaking differently same as using the different languages. Integrative Medicine has accepted that it emphasizes the therapeutic relationship between practitioner and patient, is informed by evidence, and makes use of all appropriate therapies. Integrative Medicine declares to be a kind of medicine if vary medical system can focus on human being. Conclusions : Since Korean Medicine was early therapeutic medical categories developed based on Dao, Korean Medicine have to focus on mind and body interactive relationship and attribute to the public health care system in the future.
Purpose : The simulation-based training in this research consists of theory and practice. Before the training, target students took a test on the competence of basic life support. Based on the result, they were separated as the subject group and comparison group. The simulation-based training was offered to the subject group and the traditional training was given to the comparison group. As soon as the training was completed, a follow-up study was conducted. Methods : This research aimed to figure out the effect of the simulation-based training on the competence of basic life support of the students Emergency Medical Technology. To this end, the nonequivalent pretest-posttest-quasi-experimental design using a comparison group was conducted. Results : The first hypothesis was that 'The group who took the simulation-based training would show higher points in the knowledge of basic life support than the group who took the traditional training.' Among those who took prior theory education, the subject group showed $69.38{\pm}20.43$ points while the comparison group showed $76.25{\pm}21.33$ points(t = -0.658, p = 0.531). Among those who took prior theory education and training, the subject group showed $82.86{\pm}10.86$ points while the comparison group showed $79.33{\pm}15.45$ points(t = 0.705, p = 0.487). Since there were no significant statistical differences between the two groups, the first hypothesis didn't hold. It showed few differences between the two training methods. The second hypothesis was that 'The group who took the simulation-based training would show higher points in the basic life support skills than the group who took the traditional training.' Among those who took prior theory education, the subject group showed $65.75{\pm}7.66$ points while the comparison group showed $46.88{\pm}13.48$ points(t = -3.442, p = 0.004). Among those who took prior theory education and training, the subject group showed $79.50{\pm}11.40$ points while the comparison group showed $62.13{\pm}11.44$ points(t = 4.091, p = 0.000). Since there were significant statistical differences between the two groups, the second hypothesis held. It showed substantial differences between the two training methods. Conclusion : The group who took the simulation-based training showed more positive effects on the competence of basic life support than those who took the traditional training. Therefore, it is confirmed that the simulation-based training is a useful method to improve clinical work performance of the students Emergency Medical Technology.
Barriers to health seeking constitute a challenging issue in the treatment of breast cancer. The current meta-synthesis aimed to explore common barriers to health seeking among Malaysian breast cancer patients. From the systematic search, nine studies were found meeting the inclusion criteria. Data extraction revealed that health behavior towards breast cancer among Malaysia women was influenced by knowledge, psychological, sociocultural and medical system factors. In terms of knowledge, most of the Malaysian patients were observed to have cursory information and the reliance on the information provided by media was limiting. Among psychological factors, stress and sense of denial were some of the common factors leading to delay in treatment seeking. Family member's advice, cultural beliefs towards traditional care were some of the common sociocultural factors hindering immediate access to advanced medical diagnosis and care. Lastly, the delay in referral was one of the most common health system-related problems highlighted in most of the studies. In conclusion, there is an immediate need to improve the knowledge and understanding of Malaysian women towards breast cancer. Mass media should liaise with the cancer specialists to disseminate accurate and up-to-date information for the readers and audience, helping in modification of cultural beliefs that hinder timing health seeking. However, such intervention will not improve or rectify the health system related barriers to treatment seeking. Therefore, there is an immediate need for resource adjustment and training programs among health professional to improve their competency and professionalism required to develop an efficient health system.
Objectives : To address most probable and suitable method for designing clinical trial intervening Traditional Korean Herbal Medicine on hwa-byung. Study Design : A systematic review of research studies of complementary and/or alternative medical(CAM) treatment of depression, and of domestic clinical trials of Traditional Korean Medicine, and of Chinese clinical trials of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Methods : Randomized, controlled trials(RCTs) of treatment of depression intervening herbal medicine were searched through MEDLINE, Cochrane Library, and CNKI databases. Also, domestic RCTs intervening Traditional Korean Herbal Medicine were searched through Korean Traditional Knowledge Portal and Korean studies Information Service System(KISS). Studies were evaluated using Iadad scale and self-designed tool for this study. Results : Thirty four RCT studies( 10 from MEDLINE, 16 from CNKI, 8 domestic studies) of herbal medicine met inclusion criteria. Mean Jadad score of studies published in English was 2.8${\pm}$0.79, in Chinese 1.94${\pm}$0.77, and in Korean 2.75${\pm}$0.71. Twenty one percent of studies included pattern differentiation in their inclusion criteria. Twenty nine percent of studies used combined treatment of herbal and conventional medicine. Among studies on depression, 9% included Complementary Medical assessing tools. Conclusions : There is shortage of domestic clinical trial involving herbal medicine. In China, studies tend to focus on investigating effect of Combined treatment of herbal and conventional medicine on depression. Clinical trial(s) of hwa-byung should provide good internal validity by describing methodology for randomization, double-blinding, and attrition. Also, specific guideline for clinical trial, including Traditional Korean Medical aspects across inclusion criteria, and assessing tools is needed.
