교류 급전시스템 해석을 위한 윈도우즈 기반 시뮬레이터 개발 (Development of Simulator for AC Traction Power Supply System)

  • This paper describes the development of integrated simulator for traction power supply system with GUI (Graphic User Interface). This simulator consists of a lot of calculation modules such as TPS, time table, line constant, and power supply system analysis. Each module has input and output structure respectively. The proposed simulator is tested on both high speed railway line and metropolitan subway line. The test has confirmed the function of the developed simulator.

  • Modern AC electric car has PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) -controlled converters, which give rise to higher harmonics. The current harmonics injected from AC electric car is propagated through power feeding circuit. As the feeding circuit is a distributed constant circuit composed of RLC, the capacitance of the feeding circuit and the inductance on the side of power system cause a parallel resonance and a magnification of current harmonics at a specific frequency. The magnified current harmonics usually brings about various problems. That is, the current harmonics makes interference in the adjacent lines of communications and the railway signalling system. Furthermore, in case it flows on the side of power system, not only overheating and vibration at the power capacitors but also wrong operation at the protective devices can occur. Therefore, the exact assessment of the harmonic current flow must be undertaken at design and planning stage for the electric traction systems. From these point of view, this study presents an approach to model and to analyse traction power feeding system focused on the amplification of harmonic current. The proposed algorithm is applied to a standard AT(Auto-transformer)-fed test system in which electric car with PWM-controlled converters is running.

  • According to the survey, abnormal condition of the system is the main source for interrupting an elevator service, especially faults in worm gears used for the traction machine. Worm gear is popularly used in traction machine for middle and low speed elevators. Elevators need high reliability and stability, because they are closely related to human life. Usually, traction machine is applied to drive the elevators that have height about 35 m and it is an important mechanical unit for riding quality in elevators. There are some research results about types of vibration fault for worm gear in International Association Elevator Engineers (IAEE). But this study concerns with diagnosis of various faults in elevator worm gear using vibration signal. The analysis of fault characteristics is compared with previous researches in traction machine.

Controllable Harmonic Generating Method for Harmonic Impedance Measurement of Traction Power Supply Systems Based on Phase Shifted PWM

  • The harmonic impedance characteristic of a traction power supply system (TPSS) is necessary for taking actions to suppress the high-order harmonic resonances caused by AC electric locomotives. This paper proposes a controllable harmonic generating method (CHGM) for measuring the TPSS harmonic impedance by injecting harmonic disturbances of different frequencies and amplitudes into the TPSS. This method applies phase shifted pulse-width modulation (PSPWM) and ensures that the undesired sideband harmonics can be negligible while the desired harmonic is both controllable and adjustable. Multiple harmonics can be emitted at the same time. The implementation of the method is also presented. Simulations are carried out to validate the performance of the proposed method. Finally, experimental results on a 5 H-bridge converters platform verified the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method.

  • This paper presents new configuration of a.c. traction power supply system. The proposed system includes autotransformer with variable tab. The voltage drop in traction power supply system can be reduced due to tap change of autotransformer. In this paper, fault current and Impedance is investigated, when fault occurs in traction power supply system.

  • There are several protective relays used to protect DC traction power supply system for DC railway. These relays, however, are made by different manufactures and they have different ways for their operations. Therefore, there are difficulties for cooperation between the devices or the devices and an upper system. In order to increase interoperability and stability of the system composed of devices made by different manufactures, IEC 61850 international standards are applied to design logical nodes for modeling protective elements used in protective relays.

  • Recently, traction motors in trains are supplied with single phase a.c. power. After this power is converted to d.c. power, it is inverted to three phase power to operate traction motors. As going through the process of the conversion, harmonic current is generated in train. The method of conventional analysis on harmonics, studied by RTRI, is modeled with equivalent circuit of ac AT-fed electric railroad system using by the distributed constant circuit. However, this circuit as two-port network model has some difference in comparison with real system. The reason why the conventional method is different from the real system is that the conventional method dose not include three conductor groups, that is catenary, rail, and feeder, and admittance between the conductors for line capacitance. Therefore, this method has a little error. This paper proposes new method to more effectively estimate Harmonic current. In this method, numerous components in electric railway are categorized and each component is defined as a four- port network model. The equivalent circuit for the entire power supply system is also described into a four-port network model with connections of these components. In order to evaluate the efficiency and the accuracy of a proposed method, it is compared with values measured in Kyung-Bu high speed line and ones calculated by the conventional method.

  • This study was carried out about the manufacture of test equipment for traction Motor Driving. The power converter is driven by two converter serially and keep a high power factor of power source. This system is haven all the characteristic of voltage source converter by having a processing ability of regenerating power. The traction motor is controlled by IGBT inverter. The test equipment is composed of traction motor, torque-meter, clutch, and inertia body of tubular type.

  • Korean High-Speed Train (350km/h), composed of 2 power cars, 2 motorized car and 3 trailer cars, has been developed and is under trial test. To verify the design requirements for the functions and traction performances of the train, KRRI (Korea Railroad Research Institute) decided to evaluate traction performances of the train during trial test. For this purpose, torque, velocity, voltage and current must be measured. KRRI has developed a measurement system that can measure vast and various signals effectively. In this paper, we introduce traction performances of Korean High-Speed Train. The traction measurement items are focused on the verification of motor block performances. Motor block consists of 2 motors. By this test, we verified traction performances of Korean High-Speed Train.
