Auto-Landing Guidance System Design for Smart UAV

  • This paper deals with auto-landing guidance system design applicable to Smart UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle). The proposed guidance law generates horizontal position, velocity and altitude commands in the longitudinal channel and heading angle command in the lateral channel to track a predetermined trajectory for automatic landing. The longitudinal guidance commands are derived from an approximated dynamic equations in vertical plane. These longitudinal guidance commands are appropriately distributed to each control input as the flight mode of Smart UAV is changed. The concept of VOR(VHF Omni-directional Range) guidance system is applied to generate the required heading angle commands to eliminate the lateral deviation from the desired trajectory. The performance of the proposed guidance system for Smart UAV is evaluated using the nonlinear simulation. Simulation results show that the proposed guidance system for auto- landing provides good tracking performance along the predetermined landing trajectory.

증기발생기 전열관 확관부의 초음파 검사장치 및 적용기술개발 (Development of Steam-Generator UT System and Experimental Verification)

  • 원전 취약부위의 하나인 증기발생기 전열관의 확관/천이영역을 초음파로 검사하기 위한 장치를 개발하고 모의결함 시험편 및 자연결함 시험편을 이용하여 그 성능검증을 수행하였다. 10% 이상의 깊이를 가지는 모의결함은 모두 검출 가능했으며 20% 이상의 깊이를 가지는 모의결함은 그 크기도 재현성 있게 측정할 수 있었다. 순차적인 깊이를 가지는 모의결함을 이용한 실험결과 표준편차 3.27로 비교적 재현성 있는 결과를 얻었다. 자연결함을 포함하고 있는 시편을 이용한 실험결과, 결함의 진행 형태가 검출능에 영향을 미침을 알 수 있었고 결함의 깊이방향 형태가 비교적 잘 반영되므로 결함 단면 면적을 측정할 수 있는 가능성을 타진할 수 있었다.

경사로에서의 안정성 확보를 위한 Mobile Walker의 직진성 향상 기법에 관한 연구 (A Study on The Straightness Improvement Method for Ensure Safety of Mobile Walker in Slope)

  • 본 논문은 경사로에 위치하는 Mobile Walker의 안전성 확보를 위한 직진성 향상알고리즘을 제안한다. Mobile Walker는 경사면주행 시 로봇의 무게와 경사도에 의한 외력으로 인해 경로 이탈을 하게 된다. 이를 보정하기 위해 본 논문에서는 노면의 기울기에 따른 외력을 추정하고, 이를 모터출력에 가감하는 제어기를 사용하였다. 또한 사용자가 입력하는 목표 회전각속도와 로봇의 회전각속도와의 비교를 통해 각 구동축에 가중치를 인가하는 알고리즘을 사용하였다. 제안한 보정 제어기를 적용한 결과, 경사면 이동 시 이탈거리는 무보정 실험의 경우 발산하지만 경사로 보정 알고리즘을 적용하였을 경우에는 이탈거리가 최대 10cm 이내로 안정적인 주행을 하는 것을 확인할 수 있었으며, 이탈거리 변화율 또한 1m 이후 안정화되어 더 이상의 변화가 발생하지 않는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

Development of Automated Guidance Tracking Sensor System Based on Laser Distance Sensors

  • Purpose: Automated guidance systems (AGSs) for mobile farm machinery have several advantages over manual operation in the crop production industry. Many researchers and companies have tried to develop such a system. However, it is not easy to evaluate the performance of an AGS because there is no established device used to evaluate it that complies with the ISO 12188 standard. The objective of this study was to develop a tracking sensor system using five laser distance measurement sensors. Methods: One sensor-for long-range distance measurement-was used to measure travel distance and velocity. The other four sensors-for mid-range distance measurement-were used to measure lateral deviation. Stationary, manual driving, and A-B line tests were conducted, and the results were compared with the real-time kinematic differential global positioning system (RTK-DGPS) signal used by the AGS. Results: For the stationary test, the average error of the tracking sensor system was 1.99 mm, and the average error of the RTK-DGPS was 15.19 mm. For the two types of driving tests, the data trends were similar. A comparison of the changes in lateral deviation showed that the data stability of the developed tracking system was better. Conclusions: Although the tracking system was not capable of measuring long travel distances under strong sunlight illumination because of the long-range sensor's limitations, this dilemma could be overcome using a higher-performance sensor.

SSBL 방식과 핑거동기 방식을 조합한 바이오텔레메터리 방식의 개발 (1) -시스템의 설계 및 제작 - (Development of Biotelemetry Method by Combining the SSBL Method and the Pinger Synchronizing Method (1) - Design and production of system -)

  • 이상의 연구 성과를 정리하면 다음과 같다. 1) 장비의 설치 및 취급이 간편하고, 해양생물의 순간적인 상세한 행동을 비교적 쉽게 추적할 수 있는 새로운 바이오텔레메터리 방식을 개발하였다. 바이오텔레메터리 방식에서 핑거에 수온, 압력센서 등의 추가는 핑거를 부착하는 어류에 많은 부담이 되기 때문에 수신계를 고도화함으로써 행동추적을 행하는 방법으로 하였다. 이 방식은 거리-방위의 측정원리를 이용한다. 즉, 거리를 계측하기 위해서 핑거동기 방식을 이용하고, 방위를 계측하기 위해서 SSBL방식을 채용하여, 거리와 방위를 조합(SPB 방식)함으로서 대상어의 수파기에 대한 상대위치를 구한다. 최대감도방식은 어류의 상세한 위치를 특정하기가 어렵고, 음원측위방식은 항주하는 선박에 의해 넓은 범위의 추적이 곤란하며, 또한 장비의 설치나 취급이 간편하지 못하였으나, SPB 방식에 의해 이들 결점을 대폭 해결할 수 있었다. 2) 새로운 방식으로서 개발한 SPB 방식의 시스템을 설계하였으며, 시작시스템을 제작하였다. 설계에서는 SSBL 방식과 핑거동기 방식의 기술을 조합함과 동시에 각각의 기술을 고도화하여 SPB 방식에 의해 고정도 또는 광범위 검지가 가능하도록 하였다. 따라서, 수파기는 1개로 하여 어레이의 구성의 변환에 의해 검지범위 또는 방위측정정도를 선택할 수 있도록 2개의 빔 모드로 구성 하였다. 주파수는 70kHz로 하였으며, 음원음압 136dB에서 최대검지거리 258m와 457m, 검지빔폭 76$\circ$와 29$\circ$ 를 실현할 수 있었다. 전체적인 시작시스템은 핑거, 2개의 빔모드로 구성된 수파기, 2개의 빔 모드용에 각 2개의 채널로 구성된 수신기, 디지털오실로스코프, 퍼스널컴퓨터로 구축하였다. 핑거동기 방식의 이용에 따른 측정거리오차는 수온변화에 의한 송신주기의 변화를 측정하여 최소화하도록 하였다. 핑거 부근의 수온을 알 수 있다면 핑거 송신주기의 수온특성을 보정하여 74%정도 측정거리오차를 줄일 수 있지만, 장기간에 걸쳐 추적을 하기 위해서는 다른 보정방법의 개발이 필요함을 알 수 있었다.

  • In 2013, Korea will become the world's second country to operate the urban Maglev system with the inauguration of demonstration line at Incheon International Airport. A prototype Maglev is under the test at KIMM's(Korea Institute of Machinery & Materials, Daejeon) track. This Maglev is an EMS(Electromagnetic suspension)-type vehicle of controlled $8{\pm}3mm$ air gap. The air gap between electromagnet and the guiderail in an EMS-type Maglev must be maintained within an allowable deviation by controlling the magnet. The air gap response is strongly dependent on the structural characteristics of the elevated guideway. For this reason, the interaction between the vehicle with electromagnets and the elevated guideway must be understood to ensure safe running. The purpose of this paper is to compare vibration characteristics of the vehicle on the switching system and other sections when the full weight condition of urban maglev vehicle that 26.5 tons per car(empty car weight 19 tons + passenger condition 7.5 tons), is applied. Through such results, Maglev vehicles and switching system can be established and the levitation stability can be improved.

Closely Spaced Target Detection using Intensity Sorting-based Context Awareness

  • Detecting remote targets is important to active protection system (APS) or infrared search and track (IRST) applications. In normal situation, the well-known constant false alarm rate (CFAR) detector works properly. However, decoys in APS or closely spaced targets in IRST degrade the detection capability by increasing background noise level in the CFAR detector. This paper presents a context aware CFAR detector by the intensity sorting and selection of background region to reduce the effect of neighboring targets that lead to incorrect estimation of background statistics. The existence of neighboring targets can be recognized by intensity sorting where neighboring targets usually show highest ranks. The proposed background statistics (mean, standard deviation) estimation method from median local pixels can be aware of the background context and reduce the effects of the neighboring targets, which increase the signal-to-clutter ratio. The experimental results on the synthetic APS sequence, real adjacent target sequence, and remote pedestrian sequence validated that the proposed method produced an enhanced detection rate with the same false alarm rate compared with the hysteresis-CFAR (H-CFAR) detection.

비정현 계통 전압하에서 단상 인버터의 PLL 성능 개선 방법 (A Method to Improve the Performance of Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) for a Single-Phase Inverter Under the Non-Sinusoidal Grid Voltage Conditions)

  • The phase-locked loop (PLL) is widely used in grid-tie inverter applications to achieve a synchronization between the inverter and the grid. However, its performance deteriorates when the grid voltage is not purely sinusoidal due to the harmonics and the frequency deviation. Therefore, a high-performance PLL must be designed for single-phase inverter applications to guarantee the quality of the inverter output. This paper proposes a simple method that can improve the performance of the PLL for the single-phase inverter under a non-sinusoidal grid voltage condition. The proposed PLL can accurately estimate the fundamental frequency and theta component of the grid voltage even in the presence of harmonic components. In addition, its transient response is fast enough to track a grid voltage within two cycles of the fundamental frequency. The effectiveness of the proposed PLL is confirmed through the PSIM simulation and experiments.

벼농사용 무인 제초로봇의 건답환경 주행 성능 (Traveling Performance of a Robot Platform for Unmanned Weeding in a Dry Field)

  • This paper introduces a robot platform which can do weeding while traveling between rice seedlings stably against irregular land surface of a paddy field. Also, an autonomous navigation technique that can track on stable state without any damage of the seedlings in the working area is proposed. Detection of the rice seedlings and avoidance knocking down by the robot platform is achieved by the sensor fusion of a laser range finder (LRF) and an inertial measurement unit (IMU). These sensors are also used to control navigating direction of the robot to keep going along the column of rice seedling consistently. Deviation of the robot direction from the rice column that is sensed by the LRF is fed back to a proportional and derivative controller to obtain stable adjustment of navigating direction and get proper returning speed of the robot to the rice column.
