PURPOSE: This study sought to investigate the change in the satisfaction levels of healthcare students regarding clinical practice before and after the coronavirus disease 19 (COVID-19) outbreak. METHODS: This was a longitudinal survey using a structured questionnaire. The first survey was conducted before the COVID-19 outbreak in April 2018, and the second survey was conducted after the outbreak from May to June 2022. The questionnaire used before and after COVID-19 had the same content and was categorized into the following six factors to determine clinical practice satisfaction: practice guidance, practice environment, practice time, practice evaluation, interpersonal relationships, and effectiveness of practice. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, a total of 153 healthcare students (average age: 22.43 ± 1.47 years old), participated from 4 departments: nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and dental hygiene. After COVID-19, 84 students (average age: 22.75 ± 2.87 years old), from the physical therapy, occupational therapy, nursing, and dental hygiene departments participated in the survey. RESULTS: Clinical practice satisfaction was evaluated considering the factors of practical guidance, practice environment, practice time, interpersonal relationships, and practical effects. It was observed that the satisfaction with clinical practice increased in nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and dental hygiene students after COVID-19 compared to the situation before the outbreak. There was no difference seen in the practice time and practice evaluation factors in the occupational therapy department and in the practice time factor in the dental hygiene department before and after COVID. CONCLUSION: In clinical practice under the extremely constrained circumstances imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, it seems that the emotional internal response is greater, and the satisfaction with clinical practice appears to be relatively higher than before the outbreak.
Globus pharyngeus is a common problem comprising between 3% and 4% of new otolaryngology outpatient referrals. We do not understand the etiology of globus exactly and it is remained a disease of exclusion. The treatment of globus pharyngeus is still not established. The aim of this study is to understand the etiologic factors and determine the reliable guide for selecting method of choice of evaluation and improving therapeutic response of globus pharyngeus. A total of 141 patients were investigated by authors. 25 of 141 patients were excluded from the study because they could not satisfy the definition criteria of this study. After detailed Interview and comprehensive physical examinations, all the 116 patients had underwent barium esophagogram, fiberoptic esophagogastroscopy, esophageal manometry and 24-hour pH monitoring. They could follow up for at least 3 months. There were 43 male and 73 female subjects and the mean age was 46.5 year. Esophagogram revealed normal in 94(81%) subjects. 78 patients(67.2%) were normal in esophageal manometry. Gastroesophageal reflux(GERD) was found in 24 cases and borderline GERD was found in 25 cases showing an overall incidence of 42.2% for 24-hour pH monitoring. Especially 44(89.8%) of the 49 patients with proven reflux on 24-hour pH monitoring showed therapeutic response whereas 48(71.6%) of the 67 subjects without reflux showed response.
The purpose of this study was the optimization of mixing ratio of rice flour, potato starch and soybean flour baking domestic rice cookies with nuts. Response surface methodology, with a central composite design comprising 5 levels and 3 variables, was used to identify the optimal combination of rice flour ($X_1$), potato starch ($X_2$) and soybean flour ($X_3$). The physical properties of 16 samples were analyzed, including color L (p<0.001), color a, color b (p<0.05), spreadability (p<0.05) and hardness (p<0.05). In sensory evaluations, color (p<0.05), flavor, taste (p<0.05), crunch (p<0.05) and overall quality (p<0.05) were differed significantly among the samples. The optimal compositional ratios were 78.90 g rice flour, 18.96 g potato starch, and 15.90 g the soybean flour in 420 g total weight.

Purpose: To improve self-management in elderly people with hypertension, the researcher examined the effects of an abdominal relaxed breathing exercises using biofeedback on blood pressure. These exercises regulate physical response to stress and lessen the activity of sympathetic nerves. Method: A single-experimental pre-and post-test design was used. Eight elderly people with hypertension participated in the study from April, 6 to June, 14, 2000. Biofeedback was done with soft ware by developed by J & J Company (1-410 form for abdominal respiration training). The abdominal relaxed breathing exercises are based on Mason's suggestion (1985) and were modified by Yu & Song(2001). This program consisted of 4 sessions once a week for four weeks. Data were analysed using SPSSPC+(10.0). Result: There was a significant decrease in systolic and diastolic blood pressure over three different times. There was a significant difference in the level of total stress response, overall health and quality of life but no significant difference in the level of emotional condition over three different times. Conclusion: The results of this study will contribute to the development of nursing strategies for the regulation of blood pressure in older people as the exercises are easy to learn and are a nonpharmacologic approach.
Epilepsy is a chronic neurological disease showing a symptom of repeated seizures without any other physical disorders. Among the diagnostic examination for epilepsy, the electroencephalogram (EEG) has been known as an important test. This study aimed to investigate the EEG with photic stimulation in the pediatric epilepsy patients. They underwent digital sleep and waking EEGs or waking EEGs with photic stimulation. Epilepsy type, seizure history, and season of occurring seizure were analyzed. Epilepsy patients showed more response during the period of photic-on and eye close at the frequency of 10~20 Hz during the EEG activation procedure. Photoparoxysmal response (PPR) was shown in 206 patients out of total 1,551 epilepsy patients. PPR was appeared more frequently during summer and winter seasons, and especially in the patients who had a history of seizure. During the PPR, EEG pattern showed spike (77.18%), theta (9.71%), and spike + theta (13.11%). On the other hand, beta and theta waves were not significantly changed by photic stimulation. However, alpha wave was decreased and delta wave was increased by photic stimulation (P<0.05). These changes may be due to temporarily altered electrophysiological function of the epileptic patient's brain by the photic stimulation. There was no difference in the EEG pattern between the left and right side in the brain. In conclusion, condition of photic-on with closed eyes and frequency of 10~20 Hz during the procedure of EEG activation could be appropriate for obtaining a definite photoparoxysmal response in the electroencephalogram of the pediatric epilepsy patients.
The versions of the Oswestry disability questionnaire (ODQ) is regarded as one of the most extensively used condition-specific instruments measuring disability resulting from low back pain. It has been shown to have adequate psychometrics, reliability, validity, and responsiveness as a whole, yet the summated total score of the instrument often provide little information to rehabilitation clinicians. A keyform analysis based on Rasch measurement model is an innovative way of illustrating the specific test items that an individual may or may not perform. By applying the keyform of the Rasch measurement model to the ODQ, rehabilitation clinicians may able to select more challenging ODQ items matching an individual's ability and document them as attainable treatment goals. The results demonstrated how a keyform analysis assist to setting possible goals for the treatment of individuals with low back pain. Forty-two individuals with low back pain were recruited from rehabilitation clinics in Gainesville, Florida. A series of Rasch analyses on the 10 items of the ODQ were performed using Winsteps software. The performance of two individuals on those 10 items was illustrated on the keyform. The keyform analysis of the Rasch measurement model may be translated into a useful tool for making clinical judgements.
Though super-highrise apartment buildings have become increasingly widespread, their negative effects on the residents have not been investigated sufficiently and practically in domestic situations. In particular, the foreign discussion on residential environment and the residents' health can not be applied domestically due to physical or cultural differences including physical residential space structure and life-style. Therefore, this research aims to investigate the inter-relationship between residence in super-highrise apartments and their residents' health, to reveal the problems which exist. for this purpose, a parental-response health evaluation - questionnaire on children's physical, emotional and behavioral characteristics was given to a total of 336 persons. The health of the children living in super-highrise apartments is evaluated to be good, and is related to what floor of the apartment building people live on. It is represented that the higher the story, the better the children's health. However, there is no meaningful difference according to various evaluation items including the frequency and type of disease, emotional health, behavioral characteristics, etc. Therefore, it cannot be said that children's health shows no meaningful differences depending on what floor they live on. The parents dwelling on higher floors of the building display a more careful educational attitude. This is because they feel anxious about the children's safety as shown by the fact they live on higher stories.

Over the past few decades, a considerable number of studies on the durability of concrete have been carried out extensively. A lot of improvements have been achieved especially in modeling of ionic flows. However, the majority of these researches have not dealt with the chloride binding isotherm based on the mechanism, although chloride binding capacity can significantly impact on the total service life of concrete under marine environment. The purpose of this study is to develop the model of chloride binding isotherm based on the individual mechanism. It is well known that chlorides ions in concrete can be present; free chlorides dissolved in the pore solution, chemical bound chlorides reacted with the hydration compounds of cement, and physical bound attracted to the surface of C-S-H grains. First, sub-model for water soluble chloride content is suggested as a function of pore solution and degree of saturation. Second, chemical model is suggested separately to estimate the response of binding capacity due to C-S-H and Friedel's salt. Finally, physical bound chloride content is estimated to consider a surface area of C-S-H nano-grains and the distance limited by the Van der Waals force. The new model of chloride binding isotherm suggested in this study is based on their intrinsic binding mechanisms and hydration reaction of concrete. Accordingly, it is possible to characterize chloride binding isotherm at the arbitrary stage of hydration time and arbitrary location from the surface of concrete. Comparative study with experimental data of published literature is accomplished to validity this model.
Purpose: During the pandemic, a large number of orders forced online retailers of fresh produce to quickly change their emergency logistics capabilities to meet the needs of ordinary consumers during the pandemic. Our research aims to help online retailers establish an emergency physical distribution framework for fresh produce during disasters to meet consumer needs. Research design and methodology: 160 effective responses were collected from the online response team in Wuhan, China, and exploratory factor analysis was used to determine the emergency logistics capability framework. Twelve experts were invited online to collect their scoring opinions and use the entropy method to determine the importance of emergency logistics capabilities. Results: Our results have identified a total of 17 emergency logistics factors for online retailers, and we found that Transportation route planning and reconstruction capabilities, Emergency plan planning ability, and Supply chain real-time information sharing capability are the most important in the overall framework. Conclusions: This research completely established the physical distribution framework of fresh agricultural products online retailer in emergency situations. It enriches academic resources in the field of emergency distribution and provides a scientific basis for corporate managers to improve their physical distribution capabilities in emergency situations.
Objective: To investigate whether the Minimal Clinically Important Difference (MCID) clinically defines improvement of Berg Balance Scale (BBS) scores in people with acute stroke in response to rehabilitation. Design: Retrospective study. Methods: Seventy-three participants with acute stroke participated in the study. Balance evaluation was performed using the BBS. All patients received rehabilitation with physical therapy for 4 weeks, 5 times a week, for 2 hours and 20 minutes a day. An anchor-based approach using the clinical global impression was used to determine the MCID of the BBS. The MCID was used to define the minimum change in the BBS total score (postintervention-preintervention) that was needed to perceive at least a 3-point improvement on the global rating of change. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves was used to define the cut-off values of the optimal MCID of the BBS in order to discriminate between improvement and no improvement groups. Results: The optimal MCID cut-off point for the BBS change scores was 12.5 points for males with a sensitivity (Sn) of 0.62 and a specificity (Sp) of 0.89, and 12.5 points for females with a Sn of 0.69 and Sp of 0.85. The area under the curve of the ROC curve for all participants were 0.84 (95% confidence interval [CI], 0.72; 0.95, p<0.001), and 0.89 (95% CI, 0.77; 1.00, p<0.001), respectively. Conclusions: The MCID for improvement in balance as measured by the BBS was 13.5 points, indicating that the MCID does clinically detect changes in balance abilities in persons with stroke.
