$CO_2$ 사이클용 로타리 베인 팽창기 성능해석 (Performance Analysis of Vane Rotary Expander for $CO_2$ Cycles)

  • Relatively low cycle performance of a conventional $CO_2$ system is partly due to significant increase in friction loss in the expansion process, since the pressure drop across the expansion device is considerably large compared to a conventional refrigeration cycle. To recover friction loss and increase refrigeration effect by providing isentropic expansion, a rotary vane type expander has been designed. Performance of the designed expander has been investigated by numerical simulation. With the pressure condition of 9 MPa/4.5 MPa and inlet temperature of $35^{\circ}C$, volumetric, isentropic, and mechanical efficiencies of the expander are calculated to be 58.1%, 101.1%, and 78.8%, respectively, resulting in total expander efficiency of 46.3%. With this expander, COP of a $CO_2$ refrigeration cycle is estimated to be improved by about 14%.

그리스 윤활유의 종류에 따른 SCM44의 마찰특성 (Friction Characteristic of SCM44 Steel using Grease Lubricants)

  • Friction mechanisms is a very important role in the industrial machinery. However, many experiments have been conducted to reduce the loss of energy resources and parts used due to friction because the friction force adversely affects parts, efficiency, noise, and the like of the power unit. Therefore, in this study, the friction coefficient according to the characteristics of the lubricant was measured to find out which Grease Lubricant maintains the low friction coefficient without being most affected by external conditions. A total of five grease lubricants were tested in this study: GHP CAL 301, GHP EP 2, GHP KG 10, GHP HPG 2, and GHP HTG 2. And the friction coefficient was conducted by changing the load conditions (2, 4, 6, 8, 10N) and rotational speed (24, 48, 67, 86, 105, 124, 143, 162vrpm) using a pin-on-disk wear test system. Also, duty number were calculated. As a result, it was confirmed that in all grease lubricants, the speed did not significantly affect the friction coefficient, and it was confirmed that in all lubricants, the size of the friction coefficient decreased as the load increased from a small load to a large load. In addition, it was determined from the experimental results that GHP EP 2 is the most suitable as a grease lubricant and GHP CAL 301 is not the most suitable.

입자수송시스템 내 공기-입자 유동장의 압력손실 특성 해석 (Analysis of Pressure Drop Characteristics for the Air-Particle Flow in Powder Transport Piping System)

  • This study reports the analysis of the pressure drop characteristics for the air-particle flow in powder transport piping system. The pressure drop characteristics of air-particle flow in piping system is not well understood due to the complexity of particles motion mechanism. Particles or powders suspended in air flow cause the increase of the pressure drop and affect directly the transportation efficiency. In this study, the pressure drop in powder transport piping system with straight and curved pipes is analyzed for the interactions of air flow and particle motion. The total pressure drop increases with increasing of the pipe length, the mixture ratio, and the friction factor of particles due to the increasing friction loss by air and particles in a coal piping system. For the coal powders of $74{\mu}m$ size and powder-to-air mass mixture ratio of 0.667, the total pressure drop by the consideration of powders and air flow is $30\%$ higher than that of air flow only.

발달 단계의 축대칭 열대저기압의 각운동량에 관한 연구 (Study on the Angular Momentum of Axisymmetric Tropical Cyclone in the Developing Stage)

  • The angular momentum transport of an idealized axisymmetric vortex in the developing stage was investigated using the Weather Research and Forecast (WRF) model. The balanced axisymmetric vortex was constructed based on an empirical function for tangential wind, and the temperature, geopotential, and surface pressure were obtained from the balanced equation. The numerical simulation was carried out for 6 days on the f-plane with the Sea Surface Temperature (SST) set as constant. The weak vortex at initial time was intensified with time, and reached the strength of tropical cyclone in a couple of days. The Absolute Angular Momentum (AAM) was transported along with the secondary circulation of the vortex. Total AAM integrated over a cylinder of radius of 2000 km decreased with simulation time, but total kinetic energy increased rapidly. From the budget analysis, it was found that the surface friction is mainly responsible for the decrease of total AAM. Also, contribution of the surface friction to the AAM loss was about 90% while that of horizontal advection was as small as 8%. The trajectory of neutral numerical tracers following the secondary circulation was presented for the Lagrangian viewpoint of the transports of absolute angular momentum. From the analysis using the trajectory of tracers it was found that the air parcel was under the influence of the surface friction continuously until it leaves the boundary layer near the core. Then the air parcel with reduced amount of angular momentum compared to its original amount was transported from boundary layer to upper level of the vortex and contributed to form the anti-cyclone. These results suggest that the tropical cyclone loses angular momentum as it develops, which is due to the dissipation of angular momentum by the surface friction.

배관 해석 프로그램을 통한 해수담수화 플랜트 수압 시스템 분석 (Analysis of hydraulic system for seawater desalination plant through piping analysis program)

  • In actual seawater desalination plant, the pressure loss due to frictional force of pipe is about 3~5 bar. Also, the pressure loss at pipe connection about 1~3 bar. Therefore, the total pressure loss in the pipe is expected to be about 4~8 bar, which translates into 0.111 to 0.222 kWh/㎥ of energy when converted into the Specific Energy Consumption(SEC). Reducing energy consumption is the most important factor in ensuring the economics of seawater desalination processes, but pressure loss in piping is often not considered in plant design. It is difficult to prevent pressure loss due to friction inside the pipe, but pressure loss at the pipe connection can be reduced by proper pipe design. In this study, seawater desalination plant piping analysis was performed using a commercial network program. The pressure loss and SEC for each case were calculated and compared by seawater desalination plant size.

직관내를 전파하는 압축파의 감쇠와 변형에 관한 수치해석적 연구 (Numerical study on attenuation and distortion of compression wave propagation into a straight tube)

  • A compression wave is attenuated or distorted as it propagates in a tube. The present study investigated the propagation characteristics of the compression waves which are generated by a train in a high-speed railway tunnel. A Total Variation Diminishing (TVD) difference scheme was applied to one-dimensional, unsteady viscous compressible flow. The numerical calculation involved the effects of wall friction, heat transfer and energy loss due to the friction heat in the boundary layer behind the propagating compression wave, and compared with the measurement results of a shock tube and a real tunnel. The present results show that attenuation of the compression wave in turbulent boundary layer is stronger than in laminar boundary layer, but nonlinear effect of the compression wave is greater in the laminar boundary layer. The energy loss due to the frictional heat had not influence on attenuation and distortion of the propagating compression waves.

  • 유압피스톤모터는 정압베어링부분의 마찰손실과 용적손실, 기구적 운동부분의 마찰손실, 오일의 관로저항에 의한 압력저하, 압축성에 의한 체적손실 그리고 하우징 오일 처닝(churning) 손실 등이 있다. 이러한 손실 중에서 일정한 틈새의 유막(oil film, $8{\sim}15{\mu}m$)으로 고속 회전하는 피스톤 슈(piston shoe)와 슈 플레이트(shoe plate) 사이 정압베어링 부분의 마찰 및 용적손실이 유압모터의 전체효율을 좌우 한다. 본 연구에서는 최고압력 35MPa, 최고회전수 2500rpm, 배재용적 320cc/rev급 2속(2-speed) 초대형 굴삭기의 주행모터용 유압피스톤모터를 대상으로 정압베어링비가 유압모터의 전 효율에 미치는 영향을 실험적으로 분석하였다.

100,000 RPM급으로 회전하는 에어공구의 성능측정에 관한 연구 (Study on Measuring the Performance of an Air Tool Operating at 100,000 RPM Class)

  • An experiment is conducted for measuring the performance of an air tool, which is operated at 100,000 RPM in an unloaded state with very low torque. A 551 kPa in gauge pressure is supply to the inlet of an air tool. An experimental apparatus is developed as a friction type dynamometer. Inlet total pressure, air flow rate, rotational speed and operating force are measured simultaneously. Torque, output power and specific output power are obtained with different rotational speeds. Those are compared with the experimental results which were obtained by a commercial dynamometer. However, no commercial dynamometers are available for measuring the torque above 30,000 RPM. In order to reduce the rotational speed, a reduction gear is applied between the air tool and the commercial dynamometer. Torque and power obtained by the commercial dynamometer show $55\%$ lower than those obtained by the developed friction type dynamometer, because the mass is added to the rotor of air tool for the braking system of the commercial dynamometer and power loss is generated by the reduction gear. From the compared results, the friction type dynamometer should be applied for measuring the performance of the air tool operating at low torque and high RPM.

디젤엔진용 고압분사 유닛인젝터의 성능예측을 위한 사이클 시뮬레이션 (Cycle Simulation for the Performance Prediction of a High Pressure Unit Injection System of a Diesel Engine)

  • In this study, a cycle simulation program of a Unit-Injection(UI) system was developed to estimate the injection performance of newly designed injection system. A fundamental theory of the simulation program is based on the conservation law of mass. Loss of fuel mass in the system due to leakage, compressibility effect of the liquid fuel and friction loss in the control volume was considered in the algorithm f the program. For the evaluation of the simulation program developed, the experimental result which was offered by the Technical Research Center of Doowon Precision Industry Co. was incorporated. Two main parameters; the maximum pressure in the plunger chamber and total fuel mass(kg) injected into the engine cylinder per cycle, were measured and compared with the simulation results. It was found that the maximum error rate of the simulation result to the experimental output was less than 3% in the rated rotational speed (rpm) range of the plunger cam.

스프링클러설비 설계의 수리계산 절차에 대한 연구 (A Study on Hydraulic Calculation Procedure of Fire Sprinkler System Design)

  • 수리계산방식에 의한 설계는 전산프로그램을 사용하는 방식과 직접 설계자가 계산에 의하여 설계하는 방식이 있다. 전산프로그램을 사용하는 경우 필요한 조건을 입력하면 프로그램에 의해 마찰손실, 유량, 양정 등을 계산하여 주지만 기본적인 개념과 절차를 모르게 되면 계산값이 입력자마다 다를 수가 있어 절차상의 기준을 정하는 것이 필요하다. 설계자가 직접 계산하는 경우에도 동일하다. 따라서 설계면적 내에서 수리계산의 절차를 다음과 같이 제시하였다. 가지관에 설치되는 티의 등가길이는 방출구(Outlet)의 관경이 다를지라도 설치된 배관의 관경과 동일한 관경(Run)의 등가길이를 선택한다. 가지관 중간에 손실값이 큰 다른 헤드가 있더라도 말단에서부터 계산해온 압력이 더 크다면 말단헤드에서부터 계산해온 압력으로 헤드방출량을 계산한다.
