  • Three numerical analysis carried out for the design of a diaphragm wall were examined by the results of field observation data. Utilizing the wall stiffness, supporting system and construction sequence, the relative merits of those factors on the analysis of diaphragm wall have been investigated and their effects are compared tilth the observed behaviour of the wall. The predicted bending moment and wall displacement by elasto-plastic method agreed well with the observed values. The rigid slab supported system (i.e Top-Down Method) found to be the most effective way of controlling ground movement.

  • The purpose of this study is promote perfect of construction and progress of packing ability through comparison and analysis with quality, as placing ways and placing direction are changed. Kinds of concrete are general, high fluidity, and high performance concrete. Classified with concrete as placing ways - direct ways, sheath way - and placing directing - flange direction, web direction - is analyzed section and strength of hardened concrete. The results of this study is belows the more fluid of concrete, the more useful to top-down method.

  • Construction laborers and crews play a critical role in achieving a safe and productive construction site. Many past research studies used top-down approaches/perspectives for studying the impact of laborers' performance on overall construction site outputs with limited flexibility in accounting for laborers' various characteristics. However, the recent reap in computational advances allowed applications of bottom-up architectures, which can potentially incorporate heterogeneous characteristics of laborers' individual behavioral and decision-making features effectively. Accordingly, agent-based modeling (ABM), as a tool to leverage a bottom-up methodological approach, has been widely adopted by recent research. Existing literature investigated the influence of changes in laborers' behaviors and interactions on either construction sites' safety performance or productivity performance individually, leaving the tradeoff between safety and productivity in this context relatively unexplored. Accordingly, this study aims to develop an agent-based framework to study the tradeoff between project safety and productivity performances resulting from changes in laborers' behaviors after attending safety trainings. Our findings via simulations indicate that proper safety trainings can improve safety performance without negatively impacting productivity performance.

  • In the analysis of product reliability, the fault tree is widely used since it shows the interrelations of the faults that lead to the product fault. A top-down approach based on experts’ experience is commonly used in the fault tree construction and the trees often take different forms depending on the intent of the analyst. In this work it is studied how to construct fault trees with the utilization of function trees obtained from analyzing the functions and sub-functions of products in order to suggest a generic way of fault tree construction. The function tree of a product is obtained by analyzing basic functions comprising the product main function in a bottom-up approach so that it enables to construct an objective fault tree. The fault tree for a scroll compressor is shown as an example.

  • Recently, domestic datawarehouse marketplaces take up the most important part of information technology investments with ERP(Enterprise Resource Planning), EC(Electronic Commerce) construction projects in spite of a business slowdown for IMF environment. Therefore, in industrial fields as finances, communications, manufactures, distributions, and so on, datawarehouse was constructed or is under construction, and datawarehouse success stories was showed around some enterprises that has constructed previously datawarehouse. This study is intended to be henceforth an index and direction for an actual proof study by discussing a study of methodology for datawarehouse construction in order to compare and analyze Top-down & Bottom-up approach for datawarehouse that has constructed in actual enterprises.

  • The methodology for maintenance system development should overall be considered with all of task characteristic, schedule, and the technical condition of investment sources. This research applies Waterfall model to methodology for the development and construction of maintenance system through customizing the CD (Custom Development) procedure of "HSDM (Hyundai System Development Methodology)" based on information engineering. The waterfall model called as classic life cycle paradigm is defined for the sequent development procedure, which make progress a next step after that a previous step is admitted with thorough review. This model which is popular and the oldest paradigm is used for system development by four steps; demands analysis, design, construction, and maintenance. This methodology advances higher abstract step from higher lower step using top-down approach from concept definition to construction, which notices the end of a step whenever a step is over. Therefore, each step is exactly divided, and consequently the output is clearly yielded.

  • In Top-down sites, there are many open sections around the tower crane installed on the steel frame. The open section near the tower crane may cause slab cracks and deformation of the steel frame members installed in the open section due to earth pressure. Therefore, in the field, additional consideration during construction of the open section near the tower crane should be considered.

  • Nuclear power plants in Korea are usually built based on a duplicated model; so the project cost data of the preceding unit can be used as reference when estimating the project cost for the succeeding unit. However, since the contracting method is oriented towards the price, empirical factors such as making top-down estimations using the reverse calculation method based on the completion cost of the preceding unit is dominant. In order to develop a project cost database to resolve such problems, the detailed cost boundary of the project cost data must be categorized by project and by system. This study proposes a method to connect the code of account with the base quantities and the IAEA account, and proposes a database structure for the development of a project cost estimation system. The estimation system developed in the future is expected to utilize the proposed project cost data structure.

  • 본 연구는 ENR지를 통해 파악할 수 있는 선진 설계회사들이 급변하는 세계 설계 및 엔지니어링 시장에서 환경변화에 어떤 방식으로 대응하여 성공하고 있는지를 파악함으로써 최근 어려움을 겪고 있는 국내 설계 및 엔지니어링 업체들에게 향후 생존과 성장을 위한 시사점을 도출할 목적으로 이루어졌다. 분석결과 순위가 올라가거나 유지한 기업들의 특징은 시장과 상품에 대해 사업구조 전략적 측면에서 전문화를 추구하였으며 M&A나 전략적 제휴를 통하여 급변하는 산업 환경에 능동적으로 적응하였기 때문에 성공한 것으로 나타났다. 국내 엔지니어링 기업이 해외에서 성공하기 위해서는 기업 입장에서 시장과 상품에 대한 전략적 특화가 필요하며 정부는 정책상의 해외진출 전략수립과 지원, 학계와 연구소는 핵심 기술육성을 위한 산 $\cdot$$\cdot$ 연 연구의 활성화가 절실히 필요하다.

  • The waterproofing in slab and wall of underground structure, have a couple of construction methods which are inside waterproofing methods for inner surface, and outside waterproofing methods for out wall and slab surface waterproofing. In resent years, however, it has been adapted the inside waterproofing construction method, as increasing of construction expenses cost and low workability and technology, nevertheless, outside waterproofing has set a most high value construction method. In inside waterproofing construction method, it is difficult to repair and assure durability and safety for concrete which has direct water-press. So, It is necessary for adopt the outside waterproofing method. For that reasons, this study based on the application for outside waterproofing method on the under ground structure, to more increase durability, to introduce mono adhesive sheet waterproofing materials. as considering chemical, physical properties.
