As an exploratory attempt, this study examined the correlates of different strategic groups in the Korean health food industry. Many prior studies believe that different entry mode such as entry timing and patterns, and different cognitive structure of top managers lead to the formation of different strategic groups in the same industry. Different strategic groups with different sources or mobility barriers are also expected to produce different level of economic performance. Multivariate statistical analyses of data from 32 firms in the Korean health food industry revealed the following results. i) There are four different strategic groups with different levels of mobility barriers in terms of firm size, scope of product/market domain, degree of forward and backward integration. ii) Differences in both entry timing and environmental perception of top managers are associated with different stratetic groups. However, the patterns of entry are not significantly different among four strategic groups. iii) Four strategic groups exhibit different level of economic performance in terms of sales growth rate and return on investment. Finally, this study tried to identify commonalities and differences among various strategic groups found in several industries in Korea. The results offered some implications to search for developing a useful theory of strategic groups in Korea.

Optimization of in-cylinder flow is regarded as one of the most important factors to realize stable stratified charge combustion in a Spark-ignited Direct Injection(SDI) engine. Therefore, Computational Fluid Dynamic(CFD) simulation technique were used to clarify the characteristics of in-cylinder flow of a SDI engine with top entry intake port. Also, CFD results were compared to experimental results using Laser Doppler Velocimetry(LDV), Particle Image Velocimetry(PIV) and good validations were met. As the results reverse tumble flow generated during intake process was preserved by configuration of curved piston while base and reverse tumbles were diminished at the end of compression stroke in case of flat top piston. In addition, it will be needed to optimize the fuel mixture distribution based on these results.

In this paper, we present a new clock routing algorithm which minimizes total wirelength under any given path-length skew bound. The algorithm onstructs a bounded-skew tree(BST) in two steps:(ⅰ) a bottom-up phase to construct a binary tree of shortest-distance feasible regions which represent the loci of possible placements of clock entry points, and (ⅱ) a top-down phase to determine the exact locations of clock entry points. Experimental results show that our clock routing algorithm, named BST/DME, can produce a set of solutions with skew and wirelength trade-off.

Purpose - This case study illustrates the story of eBay Korea, which owns two most leading Korean open market companies, AUCTION and Gmarket. The main concerns are to take over the Korean top domestic companies one by one, then, emerge these two giants through its well-developed post-merger Integration by eBay, an American multinational corporation. Research design, data, and methodology - This case explores various secondary resources such as periodicals, annual reviews, magazine, news articles, commentaries, even some interview materials related to 'eBay Korea' and industry source on condition of anonymity based on the critical reviewing of existing studies on these topics as well. Results - The findings of this study show the merger and acquisition of two market leaders in Korea is the only successful case in Asian Markets. The eBay's choice of entry mode is appropriate considering the timing, synergy and efficiency by sharing their resources. Conclusions - This study examines the successful entry and settlement process of foreign, multinational company through mergers and acquisitions in the Korean market. This would be a valuable in the studies of International Business and Global entry or distribution strategy in the e-commerce and open market dealing with M&A and its post-merger integration.

AI blockchain technology, which is attracting attention as a core technology of the 4th Industrial Revolution, is a technology that can be used as an important means of innovation not only in the current gaming industry but also in various industrial fields. This paper extracts the platforms and types of blockchain games currently ranked within the top 100 on the blockchain app (DApp) sites State Of The DApps, DApp.com, and Dapp Rader and introduces the top games on major platforms. As a result of extracting platforms and types, the top games were mainly based on Ethereum, EOS, and Steam. However, the results showed that there are significantly more games based on the Ethereum platform, which are stable, easy to apply, and have a low barrier to entry due to the large number of users and DApps. We plan to improve awareness of blockchain games by studying the characteristics that only blockchain games have.

온라인 게임은 최근 십년간 IT 기술의 발전에 힘입어 국내는 물론 해외에서도 눈부신 발전을 거듭하고 있다. 그런데 최근 대작 게임인 아이온이 나오기 전까지 수년간 MMORPG의 상위 순위가 변동되지 않고 과점상태를 유지했었다. NHNgames는 그 기간에 성공적으로 시장에 진입하여 좋은 성과를 내고 주요한 플레이어로 자리매김에 성공했다. 이러한 맥락에서 본 연구는 MMORPG 시장에 성공적으로 진입한 NHNgames의 사례를 Kalyanaram과 Gurumurthy의 기본전략 프레임을 통하여 성공적인 시장 진입 전략의 요소를 정리하고 분석하였다. 이 논의는 이후에도 끊임없이 반복될 온라인 게임 시장 진입의 문제에 함의를 제공하여 산업의 발전을 도모하는 데 기여할 수 있으리라 기대된다.

This study examined the effectiveness of and satisfaction of visitors with the Environmental Improvement Project on national parks' trail entry areas. A survey was conducted to improve the proposal framework based on the data. Data for the study were obtained from 6400 respondents who used 28 national park offices at 32 national park trail entry areas. The field research was collected in 3200 surveys, divided between pre- and post-implementation of the Environmental Improvement Project. The study variables consisted of socio-demographics, visitors' perceptions on the environmental improvement of trail entries, effects of the environmental improvement, and visitor satisfaction. Several important results were found. First, the environment of trail entries has a significant impact on the formation of images and user satisfaction of national parks. Second, the influence of the trail entry improvement showed that 71.8% of visitors rated the trail entry as environmentally friendly after the Environmental Improvement Project, compared to 48.5% of visitors rated the trail entry as environmentally friendly before the Environmental Improvement Project. The findings indicated that a top priority of environmental improvement of the trail entries needs to be the installation of convenience facilities such as rest areas, restrooms, and direction boards (pre: 34.5%, post: 32.6%). Third, functionality and the other nine variables were shown to enhance the effect of the environmental improvement of the trail entries at the 1% statistical significance level. Finally, results indicated that the overall satisfaction of the visitors with the park was significantly higher after the environmental improvement (t-value=25.741, p=.000), showing the satisfaction score was higher after the environmental improvement (pre: 3.51, post: 4.12), with a statistically significant difference at the 1 % level. This study helps to understand trail entries, which have influenced the image of the national park and satisfaction. These findings can be utilized to manage and design a national park as a public space.

The global aircraft-manufacturing industry ecosystem is characterized by the international division of labor through the worldwide supply chain and by the concentration of value added at the top of the supply chain. As a result, the competition for entry into the top supply chain and for order expansion is becoming increasingly intensive. To increase their orders, domestic aircraft manufacturing enterprises need to enhance their competitiveness by evaluating and analyzing it. However, most domestic aircraft manufacturing companies are unaware of the need to quantitatively evaluate their competitiveness. It is challenging to perform such an evaluation, and there are few research cases. In this study, we quantitatively evaluated and analyzed the competitiveness of domestic aircraft manufacturers by using data mining techniques. Thereby, implications for enhancing their competitiveness could be identified.

최근에 매쉬업(mashups), 웹 3.0, JavaScript, AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript XML) 등이 널리 사용되면서, 새로운 취약점들이 발견되고 있어 보안 위협이 더 증대되고 있다. 이러한 웹 애플리케이션 취약점과 보안 위협을 효율적으로 완화하기 위해, 그 취약점들을 위험도 기준으로 순서화하여 웹 애플리케이션의 개발 생명주기의 해당 단계에서 우선적으로 고려해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 미국 NVD(National Vulnerability Database)의 웹 애플리케이션 취약점에 대한 데이터를 분석하여, OWASP Top 10 취약점들의 위험도 산정 방법이 타당한 지를 검증하였다. 그 다음, OWASP Top-10 2010과 CWE (Common Weakness Enumeration) 데이터를 중심으로 웹 애플리케이션 취약점 정보를 분석하여 웹 취약점들을 사상시켜 순서화하고, 그 취약점들이 어떤 개발 생명주기 단계와 관련이 있는지를 제시하였다. 이를 통해 효율적으로 웹 보안 위협과 취약점을 예방하거나 완화할 수 있다.
