  • Study of east & west medical science documentary records of Hip joint pain lead to following conclusions. 1. Easten medicine classify hip joint pain with terms "Bi-chu-tong", "Bi chu in tong" "Bi-chu-choong-tong". 2. Easten medicine asorts cause of hip joint pain with external factor, such as exogenous energy, six yin evil energy and intrinsic factor, which are weakness caused by prolonged deasease, warm-heat evil. 3. In western medicine, causes that trigger hip joint pain are trauma, fracture, dislocation, and bacterial infection. 4. Treatment of hip joint disorder in western medicine, physiotherapy concerning conservative treatment, and pain control with drug treatment, kinesitherapy are used, and concernig fracture, operation is used. 5. In Eastern medicine, principle of treating hip joint pain, sung-juk-sa-ji(盛則寫之), hu-juk-bo-ji(虛則補之), yul-juk-jil-ji(熱則疾之), han-juk-yu-ji(寒則留之), ham-ha-juk-chim-ji(陷下則沈之), bul-sung-bul-hu(不盛不虛), yi-kyong-chui-ji(以經取之) is presented. This priciple of treatment was descended through ages and is now applied to treatments such as Acupuncture, Herbal, physical treatment based on so-san-eo-hyul(消散瘀血), seo-kun-tong-rak(舒筋通絡), so-ri-kwan-jul(疏利關節) principle. 6. In Eastern medicine, meridians used to treat hip joint pain are The Chok yangmyung wi Kyong(足陽明胃經), Chok taeum bi Kyong(足太陰脾經), Chock soyang dam Kyong(足少陽膽經), Chock guelum gan Kyong(足厥陰肝經). In conclusion, hip joint pain should be considered in relationship with internal organs and whole body system. • A lectin named AAL has been purified from the fruiting bodies of the edible mushroom Agrocybe aegerita. AAL consisted of two identical subunits of 15.8 kDa, its pI was about 3.8 determined by isoelectric focusing, and no carbohydrate was discerned. Being treated by pyrogultamate aminopeptidase, the blocked N-terminus of AAL was sequenced as QGVNIYNI. AAL agglutinated human and animal erythrocytes regardless of blood type or animal species. Its hemagglutinating activity was unaffected by acid or alkali treatment and demetalization or addition of divalent metals $Mg^{2+}$, $Ca^{2+}$ and $Zn^{2+}$. AAL was toxic to mice: its LD50 was 15.85 mg per kilogram body weight by intraperitoneal injection. In this study, two novel activities of AAL were proved. It showed inhibition activity to infection of tobacco mosaic virus on Nicotiana glutinosa. The result of IEF suggested that AAL attached to TMV particles. Mycelia differentiation promotion was the other interesting activity. AAL promoted the differentiation of fruit body primordia from the mycelia of Agrocybe aegerita and Auricularia polytricha. AAL antiserum was prepared and immunologically cross-reactived with several proteins from five other kinds of mushrooms. These results suggested that AAL probably was a representative of a large protein family, which plays important physiological roles in mushroom.

  • Three dimensional coupled bending-torsion dynamic vibrations of thin-walled open section beam subjected to moving vehicle are investigated by transfer matrix method. Through adopting the idea of Newmark-${\beta}$ method, the partial differential equations of structural vibration can be transformed to the differential equations. Then, those differential equations are solved by transfer matrix method. An iterative scheme is proposed to deal with the coupled bending-torsion terms in the governing vibration equations. The accuracy of the presented method is verified through two numerical examples. Finally, with different eccentricities of vehicle, the torsional vibration of thin-walled open section beam and vertical and rolling vibration of truck body are investigated. It can be concluded from the numerical results that the torsional vibration of beam and rolling vibration of vehicle increase with the eccentricity of vehicle. Moreover, it can be observed that the torsional vibration of thin-walled open section beam may have a significant nonlinear influence on vertical vibration of truck body.

  • Cho, Tak(曺倬)'s Yi-Yang-Pyun(二養編), first published in the 12 year of Kwang-Hae-Kun(光海君) era(1620), is composed of two parts. The first part is an edition of various Confucian scriptures that is used to control and restrain the mind. The second pan, considering mostly of contents borrowed from medical works, anthologies and books on yang-saeng(養生), is used to maintain the well-being of the body. Yi-Yang-Pyun shows several distinct characteristics of Yang-saeng ideas. first, it follows the teachings of Yi, Hwang(李滉) which denotes the state of body and mind according to the Kyung(敬) philosophy. 'Kyung' is a state of being that does not require bondage as it automatically reveres the mind. Therefore, actively fostering the body and mind is to maintain this respective state of being. Second, it has summarized and arranged certain medical contents from the Dong-Eui-Bo-Kam(東醫寶鑑) for the purpose of discovering the truth underlying one's body in an effort to pursue the logics of universal nature. Third, although it was based on the contents of Confucianism related books, it widely encompassed the regimen of Taoism. Fundamentally, the Confucian had regarded the Taoism as a heretic, but accepted it in e influence of Zhu xi(朱熹) who interpretated Can-Tong-Qi(參同契) with Confucian perspectives and put in practice the regimen of Taoism. In this context, Yi-Yang-Pyun also used jointly Taoism-related books with Confucian scriptures. Although Taoist regimen was accepted, elixir(外丹), conjury of Taoist hermit(神仙方術) and issues which run counter to morality like sexual practices(房中術) were not. Most of regimens used were related to disease-prevention and health-enhancement like breathing(服氣法), gym-nastics(導引), Diet(服餌) etc. Ideas of Yi-Yang-Pyun, written from Confucian perspectives, latter heavily influenced on scholars of inner elixir(內丹).

  • This paper introduces a new method to study the hydroelastic behavior of hinged Very Large Floating Structures (VLFSs). A hinged two-module structure is used to confirm the present approach. For each module, the hydroelasticity theory proposed by Lu et al. (2016) is adopted to consider the coupled effects of wave dynamics and structural deformation. The continuous condition at the connection position between two adjacent modules is also satisfied. Then the hydroelastic motion equation can be established and numerically solved to obtain the vertical displacement, force and bending moment of the hinged structure. The results calculated by the present new method are compared with those obtained using three-dimensional hydroelasticity theory (Fu et al., 2007), which shows rather good agreement.

  • Through the study about Che-Qi-Jung(諸氣證) concerned with phenomenon of stress, we concluded as fallow. 1. Stressors are recognized three parts, internal cause, external cause, non-interexternal cause, in the oriental medicine. And the reaction of the body about stressors, was expressed change of Qi(氣). 2. The vascular system and autonomic nervous system are tensed or relexed. Because the etiology of Yuk-Em(六淫), Chil-Jeong(七情) make lose up and down, in and out, circulation of Gi(氣). The symtom caused with stress are explained, divided into Chil-Qi(七氣), Gu-Qi(九氣), Joong-Qi(中氣), Qi-Tong(氣痛), Qi-Yuk(氣逆), Qi-Wool(氣鬱). 3. The symtom of Chil-Qi is recognized into psycholoQical stress and Mae-Haek-Qi(梅核氣). The symtom of Gu-Qi is composed of Chil-Qi and Han(寒), Youl(熱), Ro(勞). 4. The symtoms of Qi-Yuk and Joong-Qi are caused by the ascent of Hwa-Qi(火氣). And Hwa-Qi is made by rage and depression. Qi-Yuk is chronic symtom that the ascent of Hwa-Qi is made by out of function in up and down mechanism of Qi. Joong-Qi is acute symtom that patholoQical state of Qi-Yuk take place for a while by sudden psycholoQical shock. 5. The symtom of Qi-Wool is loss of funtion made by depressed state in physioloQical mechanism, and Qi-Wool is observed in depressive psychosis and hypochondriasis and psychogenic. 6. The symtom of Qi-Tong is the pain caused by interference of circulation of Qi-Hyul(氣血). PsycholoQical stimulation such as rage and depression, tense autonomic nervous system. This make convulsion in gastro-intestine or vascular circuluation or abdominal muscles, and the pain is caused by convulsion.
