The socio-emotional behaviors of 2-year-olds were examined by multiple attachments to mothers and child care providers in the context of home and child care centers. Participants were 100 children (mean age: 30.2 months), their mothers, and 27 child care providers. Attachment security was assessed with attachment Q-set. Children's social interaction with peers and teachers were rated every 10 seconds during 10 minute observation periods for 4 days, totaling40 minutes per child. Mothers and child care providers completed the Infant Toddler Socio-Emotional Assessment (ITSEA). Results showed that secure attachment relationships with child care providers partly compensated for insecure attachments with mothers at home. In the context of the child care center, secure attachments with child care providers were more important determinants of the development of socio-emotional behaviors than secure attachments with mothers.

This ethnography explored the construction of a social network and its function in a classroom of toddlers in a day-care center located in Vermont. The classroom activities of 9 two-year-old toddlers were observed for about two months, compiled and categorized. Then, the themes of psychological functions were reconstructed in data analysis. Results showed that toddlers constructed multiple relations with all peers beyond the dyadic. They also transmitted information to teachers as well as peers in indirect ways. These direct-multiple interactions as well as indirect interactions reflect the social network of Lewis' (2005) theory. In the construction of social networks, the toddlers developed communication skills, turn-taking skills, leadership, and imitation.

Mothers of 113 Korean toddlers completed Toddler Behavior Assessment Questionnaire(TBAQ) and Child Rearing Practice Report(CRPR). Observations of mother-child dyads in novel situations involving unfamiliar settings and adults assessed child's behavioral inhibition. Nonsocial inhibition were measured by the amount of time each child spent in physical contact with his/her mother in free-play episodes. Adult-social inhibition was based on child's behavior when an unfamiliar adult requested that the child approach her as she presented them with toys or activities. Results showed that TBAQ Social Fearfulness was positively associated with nonsocial and adult-social inhibition. TBAQ Pleasure was correlated negatively and TBAQ Anger Proneness positively correlated with adult-social inhibition. An interaction effect showed that child's social fearfulness and mother's overprotective behaviors affected adult-social inhibition. The regression model explained 31% of the variance.

This study examined the relationship between children's temperament and their early vocabulary acquisition. Mothers of 317 toddlers (18 months of age) completed the Toddler Temperament Scale(Bak, 1996) and a vocabulary checklist(Pae, 2002). Results showed that mood, adaptability, and activity were associated with vocabulary acquisition. Specifically, infants rated as having a positive mood and low activity level acquired more expressive words. On the other hands, infants rated as easily adaptive and low activity level acquired more receptive words. These results suggest that different components of temperament may influence the way in which toddlers acquire vocabulary.

The objective of this study was to identify how child's gender, temperament, mother's stress and their interactions predict parenting behavior. The subjects were 97 2-year-olds(47boys; 50girls) and their mothers. Data were gathered by questionnaires. Results of a series of hierarchical regression analyses showed combinations of variables that predicted parenting behaviors : (1) mothers reported higher over-protectiveness toward girls and when they were under higher stress. (2) An interaction effect showed that mothers with sons who had higher 'difficult' temperaments reported greater over-protective parenting under greater stress. (3) There were no significant differences in over-protective parenting under low stress, regardless of the level of difficult temperament. (4) Mother's stress was a strong predictor of supportive parenting behaviors.

본 논문에서는 최근 유아대상으로 무분별한 스마트폰 기기 노출 등으로 인한 피해의 심각성을 알고 유아교육에서 인터넷 윤리 및 스마트폰 기기의 올바른 사용이 제대로 이루어 질수 있도록 교육 방법을 제안하는 것이다. 제 4차 산업혁명으로 인하여 연령과 상관없이 과도하게 스마트기기에 많이 노출되고 있다. 따라서, 유아기때부터 올바른 정보 윤리 의식 및 적절한 컴퓨터 사용을 할 수 있는 교육이 이루어지며, 유아 스마트폰 증후군을 예방하여 건전하고 안전한 사이버 세상이 이루어지도록 해야 한다. 그러나 아직까지 유아교육분야에서 정보 윤리 및 스마트폰 중독에 대한 프로그램이 특강형태로 이루어지고 교재교구들이 부족하며, 다양한 활동이 개발되어지지 않고 있는 실정이다. 따라서, 본 연구는 정부차원에서 각 센터와 기관들과 잘 협업이 이루어지도록 유도하며, 전문가들에 의해 다양한 활동이 개발되고 교재교구가 제작될 수 있는 방안을 제안하고자 한다.

자녀 교육에 대한 관심의 증대로 다양한 미디어를 활용하여 많은 유아 교육용 프로그램이 상용화되어 있다. 그 중 스마트폰의 활용 분야가 넓어지면서 자연스럽게 유아 교육 분야도 스마트폰에 접목이 되고 있는 추세이다. 본 논문에서는 동화책을 읽어주는 행위와 90년대 초중반에 유행했던 게임북을 스마트폰에 접목시켜 자녀와 부모가 함께 할 수 있는 유아 교육용 어플리케이션 설계를 제안한다. 본 논문의 어플리케이션은 동화를 보는 중 스토리 중간 중간 간단한 미니게임 및 문제 선택 결과에 따라 본래의 동화 스토리 또는 허구 스토리 동화로 진행되어 다양한 엔딩을 볼 수 있다. 또한 동요듣기, 악기다루기, 율동 배우기, 스트레칭 등 여러 옵션을 제공한다.

본 논문에서는 라즈베리파이, 마이크, 스피커, 버튼센서, 진동센서, TTS(Text-To-Speech) api를 활용하여 유아용 언어 학습용 디바이스를 개발한다. 학습시키고 싶은 단어가 쓰여져 있는 상자를 유아가 건드리면 그 단어의 소리가 나는 것을 가정하였다. 사용자가 버튼을 통해 직접 단어를 녹음을 할 수 있으며 웹페이지를 통해 텍스트(영어)를 입력하면 text-to-speech api를 통해 텍스트(영어)에 맞는 음성파일을 제공받을 수 있다. 저장된 음성파일은 진동센서를 통해 진동이 감지되면 스피커를 통해서 출력이 되는 시스템으로 구성하였다.

We report the case of a toddler, with a history of mild atopic dermatitis (AD) since early infancy, presented to the Giannina Gaslini, a pediatric polyclinic hospital, 14 days after measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccination, for the occurrence of a disseminated vesico-pustular rash, accompanied by general malaise, fever, restlessness, and anorexia. Eczema herpeticum (EH) was diagnosed clinically and confirmed by laboratory examinations. The exact pathogenesis of EH in AD is still debated and possibly involves an inter-play between altered cell-mediated and humoral immunity, failure to up-regulate antiviral proteins, and exposure of viral binding sites through the dermatitis and an epidermal barrier failure. We hypothesize that in this particular case, MMR vaccination might have played an additional important role in the alteration of innate immune response, facilitating the manifestation of herpes simplex virus type 1 in the form of EH.

This study was aimed to characterize the color of cotton fabric dyed with three different natural resources such as persimmon, citrus, and brown algae and to propose new trend color themes for fashion color planning for newborn and toddler wear. A variety of color shades by dyeing cotton fabric with persimmon, citrus, and brown algae respectively was obtained and each color was also determined if it could be matched with one of Pantone TPX considering authorized color trends for 2016 Spring/Summer. Finally a group of new trend color theme for 2016S/S newborn and toddler wear were proposed for naturally dyed cotton fabric. As results, the three natural dyeing resources gave color gamut with hue ranging from Purple Blue to Green Yellow and with tones including pale, light grayish, soft, grayish, and dull by their single and compound dyeing. A total of 23 colors matched to Pantone TPX were considered for the fashion color planning by natural dyeing. The selected natural colors were grouped as three different color ways and thereafter the color ways were differentiated in terms of representative color sensibility by using subjective evaluation. Finally three characterized color themes were proposed as 'Serenity', 'Juicy', and 'Fancy', each of which has tried to express differentiated feeling of each natural resources for dyeing, to follow up to global color trends, and to contribute to newborn and toddler wear's own requirements and marketability. These results suggest that natural dyeing colors could be applied into fashion color planning in current fashion industries in order to produce more sensible and emotional design of fashion goods using natural dyeing.
