  • In this paper, impacts of tropospheric delay gradient correction on PPP positioning performance were analyzed. A correction for tropospheric delay error due to the gradient was created and applied using external data, and reference station data were collected on a sunny day and a rainy day to analyze the GPS only dual-frequency PPP positioning results. As a result, on the sunny day, the convergence time was about 35 minutes and the final 3D position error was 10 cm, regardless of whether the correction for the tropospheric delay error by the gradient was applied. On the other hand, on the rainy day, the 3D position error converges only when the correction was applied, and the convergence time was about 34 minutes. Furthermore, the final 3D position error was improved from 30 cm to 10 cm. In addition, the analysis of the PPP by reference station location on the rainy day showed that the PPP positioning performance was improved when the correction was applied to a user located in an area where the weather changes.

  • This paper describes the CIREX(CIRcuit EXtractor), an automated CMOS circuit extraction program which provides SPICE2 input file by computing circuit connectivity and transistor dimensions from the CIF file. The CIREX also computes parasitic capacitance and resistance which makes it a valuable tool for timing analysis and detailed circuit simulation. A lattice model is used to calculate the interconnection resistances and substrate capacitances which can be replaced, as an option, by a node model for the worst case timing analysis of the circuit.

  • Currently, the depth of cracks is measured using ultrasonic detectors in maintenance practice. This method consists of measuring the depth of cracks by attaching ultrasonic depth measuring equipment to the concrete surface, and there are restrictions on the timing and location of the inspection. These limitations can be addressed through the development of image-based crack depth measurement AI technology. If crack depth measurements are made based on images, restrictions on the timing and location of inspections can be lifted because images acquired with simple filming equipment can be used as input information. To efficiently develop these artificial intelligence technologies, it is essential to identify the interrelationship between crack depth measurements and image characteristic information. Thus, this study is a basic study of the development of image-based crack depth measurement AI technology and aims to identify image characteristic information related to crack depth.

  • Design-Build (DB) has gained in popularity in roadway projects due to its defining advantage to improve communication and fast-track project delivery. However, very little is known about the impact of change order frequency and occurrence timing pertaining to DB projects. The study analyzes their impacts on project time and cost performance by conducting a rigorous numerical analysis drawing on 530 3R (rehabilitation, reconstruction, and resurfacing) projects completed between 2002 and 2011 in Florida by using a multiple linear regression. The results indicate that DB outperformed Design-Bid-Build in project cost as well as time. Critically, the regression analysis signifies that earlier change order occurrence caused more unfavorable impacts on schedule and cost. The proposed analyses and models will lead to the improved ability of agencies to quickly and more reliably estimate the potential change order impacts on schedule and cost.

  • Merging of two supermassive black holes would generate gravitational waves that can be detected by the Pulsar Timing Array (PTA) in the nHz band. In order to assess the plausibility of GW detection with PTA and to develop the data analysis scheme, it is important to understand the underlying properties of black holes and black hole binaries. In this work, we present mass and redshift distributions of black hole mergers using the Horizon Run 5 (HR5) data and discuss their implications for GW detection. We find a general conjecture about the black hole merger tree is true with the Horizon Run 5. For example, a) relatively lighter black holes merge at higher redshifts and b) binary mergers do contribute to the formation of more massive black holes toward low redshifts. We also present our plan to use the black hole properties extracted from the HR5 data in order to generate simulated GW signals to be injected into actual PTA data analysis pipelines. Mass and distance obtained from the HR5 would be key ingredients to generate a more realistic PTA source data set.

  • In satellite systems, efficient communication and observation require identifying of specific signal arrival points using onboard antenna systems. When utilizing massive array antennas to estimate the angle of arrival (AOA) of signals, traditional high-performance AOA estimation algorithms such as Multiple Signal Classification (MUSIC) encounter extremely high complexity due to the numerous individual antenna elements. Although, in order to improve this computational complexity problem, the cascade AOA estimation algorithm with CAPON and beamspace-MUSIC was recently proposed, the comparison of the computational complexity of the proposed algorithm across different massive array antenna configurations has not yet been conducted. In this paper, we provide the analyzed results of the computational complexity of the proposed cascade algorithm based on various massive array antennas, and determine an optimal antenna configuration for the efficient AOA estimation in satellite systems.

  • In urban areas, signals can be blocked and reflected by buildings, reducing the reliability of global navigation satellite systems (GNSS). To address this, the zonotope shadow matching (ZSM) algorithm has been proposed to estimate the set-valued receiver position by calculating the GNSS shadow based on the zonotope. However, the existing study only analyzed the performance of ZSM in dense urban areas where GNSS shadows occur frequently, and the performance analysis in various urban environments was insufficient. Therefore, in this paper, we analyzed the performance of the ZSM algorithm in four urban environments with different characteristics. The results showed that the receiver position estimation performance of ZSM was relatively poor in environments where buildings were not densely populated, and the performance of ZSM was shown to be effective in urban environments with narrow roads and tall buildings.

How to an effect on human body which studied a kinematics and kinetics from 10 college students during experiments. This study imposes several conditions by barefoot, normal running shoes and put functional insole shoes ran under average $2.0{\pm}0.24\;m$/sec by motion analysis and ground reaction force that used to specific A company. First of all, motion analysis was caused by achilles tendon angle, angle of the lower leg, angle of the knee, initial sole angle and barefoot angle. The result of comparative analysis can be summarized as below. Motion analysis showed that statically approximates other results from achilles tendon angle (p<.01), initial ankle angle(p<.05), initial sole angle(p<.001) and barefoot angle(p<.001). Ground reaction force also showed that statically approximates other results from impact peak timing (p<.001), Maximum loading rate(p<.001), Maximum loading rate timing (p<.001) and impulse of first 20 percent (p<.001). Above experiment values known that there was statically difference between Motion analysis and Ground reaction force under absorbing of the functional insole shoes which was not have an effect on our body for kinetics and kinematics.

  • The Satellite-based Augmentation System (SBAS), as a safety critical system, should be verified on an ongoing basis to ensure the adequate performance. This study proposes two methods to evaluate the performance of SBAS satellite correction. Analysis methods based on precise ephemeris and measurement were applied to present an evaluation method for SBAS satellite correction, and a test was performed based on real data. The precise ephemeris-based analysis method had no limitations on the position of the test user and showed a high precision, enabling an accurate performance analysis in various positions. Although the measurement-based analysis method has the advantage of fast data interval, it showed a relatively lower accuracy due to the effects of various error factors. Compared with the precise ephemeris-based analysis method, there was a large difference of more than 5 m at the beginning of smoothing filter, and a difference less than 50 cm when filtered for more than an hour.

  • Increasing air pollution levels and the global oil crisis has become a major hindrance in the growth of our automobile sector. Traditional Internal Combustion engines running on non-renewable fuels are proving to be the major culprit for the harmful effects on environment. With few modifications and also with assistance of few additional components current small SI engines can be modified into a pneumatic engine (commonly known as Compressed Air Engines) without much technical complications where the working fluid is compressed air. The working principle is very basic as adiabatic expansion of the compressed air takes place inside the cylinder pushing the piston downwards creating enough MEP to run the crank shaft at decent RPM. With the assistance of new research and development on pneumatic engines can explore the potential of pneumatic engines as a viable option over IC engines. The paper deals with analysis on RPM variation with corresponding compressed air injection at different crank angles from TDC keeping constant injection time period. Similarly RPM variation can also be observed at different injection pressures with similar injection angle variation. A setup employing a combination of magnetic switch (reed switch), magnets and solenoid valve is used in order to injection timing control. A conclusive data is obtained after detailed analysis of RPM variation that can be employed in newly modified pneumatic engines in order to enhance the running performance. With a number of benefits offered by pneumatic engine over IC engines such as no emissions, better efficiency, low running cost, light weight accompanied by optimized injection conditions can cause a significant development in pneumatic engines without any major alteration.
