  • This paper presents a new fuzzy-neural-network based interacting multiple model (FNNBIMM) algorithm for tracking a maneuvering target. To effectively handle the unknown target acceleration, this paper regards it as additional noise, time-varying variance to target model. Each sub model characterized by the variance of the overall process noise, which is obtained on the basis of each acceleration interval. Since it is hard to approximate this time-varying variance adaptively owing to the unknown acceleration, the FNN is utilized to precisely approximate this time-varying variance. The gradient descendant method is utilized to optimize each FNN. To show the feasibility of the proposed algorithm, a numerical example is provided.

  • The tire is considered as one of the Important noise sources having an influence on vehicle's performance. The Pattern noise of a tire is the transmission sound of airborne noise. On smooth asphalt road, Pattern noise is amplified with the velocity. In recent, the study on the reduction of Pattern noise is energetically processed. Pattern noise is strongly related with pitch sequence. To reduce the pattern noise, tire's designer has to randomize the sequence of pitch. The FFT is a traditional method to evaluate the level of the randomization of the pitch sequence, but gives no information on time-varying, instantaneous frequency. In the study, we found that Time-Frequency transform is a useful method to non-stationary signal such as tire noise.

시변 잡음에 강인한 음성 인식을 위한 PCA 기반의 Variational 모델 생성 기법 (PCA-based Variational Model Composition Method for Roust Speech Recognition with Time-Varying Background Noise)

  • 본 논문에서는 시간에 따라 변하는 잡음 환경에 강인한 음성 인식을 위해 효과적인 특징 보상 기법을 제안한다. 제안하는 기법에서는 기존의 Variational 모델 생성 기법의 모델 정확도를 향상시키고자 PCA를 도입한다. 제안된 기법은 다중 모델을 사용하는 PCGMM 기반의 특징 보상에 적용된다. 실험 결과는 제안한 PCA 기반의 Variational 모델 생성 기법이 배경 음악 환경의 다양한 SNR 조건에서 기존의 전처리 기법에 비하여 음성 인식 성능을 향상 시키는데 우수함을 입증한다. 제안한 모델 생성 기법이 기존의 Variational 모델 생성 방법에 비해 배경 음악 환경에서 평균 12.14%의 상대적 인식 성능 향상률을 나타낸다.

  • This paper is focused on the analysis of the noise and vibration measured near the wheelset of the high-speed trains using a time-varying frequency transform as a preliminary research of running monitoring. Due to the non-stationary characteristics, it is necessary to examine noise and vibration of the train with time-varying frequency transforms. In this paper, the short-time Fourier transform method is utilized - the stored data is localized by modulating with a window function, and Fourier transform is taken to each localized data. For the examination, the non-stationary noise and vibration of the high-speed train's wheelset are measured by using some microphones and accelerometers, and those signals are stored in a on-board data acquisition system. The non-stationary random signal analyses with the short-time Fourier transform are performed, and the result are classified as follows; auto-spectral density, cross-spectral density, frequency response, and coherence functions. From those functions, it is possible to observe the frequency characteristics of sleepers, switchers, tunnels, and steel bridges. Also, some distinct peaks, which are not dependent upon the train's speed, are identified from the results.

  • A six-degree-of-freedom dynamic model with time-varying mesh stiffness/damping and friction has been developed for the dynamic analysis of a gear driving system. This model includes a spur gear pair, bearing, friction and prime mover. Using Newton???s method, equations of motion for the gear driving system were derived. Two computer programs are developed to calculate mesh stiffness, transmission error and friction force and analyze the dynamics of the modeled system using a time integration method. The influences of mesh stiffness/damping, bearing, and friction affecting the system were investigated by performing eigenvalue analysis and time response analysis. It is found that the reduction of the maximum peak magnitude by friction is decided according to designing the positions of pitch point and maximum peak in the responses.

  • An active vibration control technique of a time-varying cantilever beam is proposed in this study. A simple in-house coil sensor instead of expensive commercial sensors was used to measure the vibrational displacement of the beam. Active band pass filters and artificial neutral net works detect the frequencies, amplitudes, and phases of the main vibration mode. The time constants of the low pass filter representing the positive position feedback controller are updated in real-time, which generates the control voltage input to actuate the piezoelectric actuator and suppress the vibration. An experiment was successfully performed to verify the algorithm for a cantilever beam, which fundamental natural frequency arbitrarily varies between 9 Hz ~ 18 Hz. The present active vibration suppression technique can be applied to variety of structures which undergoes large variation of dynamic characteristics while operating.

적응예측기-이진트리구조 필터뱅크 시스템을 이용한 잡음이 부가된 시변 진동신호 분석 (Noisy Time Varying Vibration Signal Analysis using Adaptive Predictor-Binary Tree Structured Filter Bank System)

  • 회전하는 기계시스템에서는 일반적으로 시변 진동신호가 발생되며, 회전기에 고장이 있는 경우 이 신호에 잡음이 포함된다. 본 논문에서는 잡음이 포함된 시변 진동신호를 분해하기 위한 적응예측기와 이진트리구조 필터뱅크로 구성되는 시스템을 제안한다. 그리고 이 시스템에서 분석된 진동신호 결과를 회전기 고장진단에 활용할 수 있음을 보인다. 제안 시스템 적응 예측기는 주기신호성분을 예측하며, 필터뱅크 시스템에서는 입력신호와 예측된 주기신호와의 차 신호를 부밴드 대역으로 분해한다. 각 부밴드 신호에는 고장에 따른 잡음 신호성분이 포함되므로, 이를 이용 회전기의 고장진단이 가능하다. 제안한 신동신호분석 방법의 타당성을 시뮬레이션에서 보이며, 시뮬레이션에서는 주기신호 성분이 제거된 진동신호를 32 부밴드로 분해하여 고장관련 신호 특성을 분석한다.

증가인자 시변제어를 위한 신경망 증가평가필터 설계 (Design of Neural Network Based IEF Filter for Time-varying Control of Incremental Factor)

  • 생체신호 수집시 전력선 잡음은 일반적인 잡음원이다. 증가평가필터(Incremental Estimation Filter. IEF)는 생체신호, 특히, 심전도 (Electrocadiogram, ECG) 신호에 있어서 전력선 잡음을 제거하기 위해 사용되어 왔다. 증가평가필터의 잡음제거 성능에 영향을 미치는 상수 값의 증가인자는 입력신호에 따라서 경험적으로 혹은 실험적으로 결정되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 증가인자의 시변(time-varying) 제어를 위해 신경망을 이용한 증가평가필터 설계를 제시하고 있다. 제안된 증가평가필터는 인위적인 신호뿐만 아니라 MIT/BIH 데이터베이스의 실제 심전도 신호에 적용함으로써 평가하였으며, 잡음제거 성능의 상대적인 비교를 위해 적응잡음제거기와 기존의 증가평가필터등과 비교하였다. 실험결과 신경망에 근거한 증가평가필터는 수렴속도와 특정 주파수에서의 잡음제거에서 기존의 적응필터보다 우수함을 보여주었다.

  • A new modal analysis method for rotor systems with periodically time-varying parameters is proposed. The essence of method is to introduce modulated coordinates to derive the equivalent time-invariant equation. This paper presents a modal analysis method using modulated coordinates fur general rotors, of which rotating and stationary parts both possess asymmetric properties. The equation of motion with time-varying parameters is transformed to an infinite order matrix equation with the time-invariant parameters. A theory of modal analysis for the system is presented with the infinite order equation and a couple of reduced order equations. A numerical example with simple asymmetric rotor is provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method

GPU를 이용한 해금의 스펙트럼 모델링 (Spectral Modeling Synthesis of Haegeum using GPU)

  • This paper presents a parallel approach of formant synthesis method for haegeum on graphics processing units (GPU) using spectral modeling. Spectral modeling synthesis (SMS) is a technique that models time-varying spectra as a combination of sinusoids and a time-varying filtered noise component. A second-order digital resonator by the impulse-invariant transform (IIT) is applied to generate deterministic components and the results are band-pass filtered to adjust magnitude. The noise is calculated by first generating the sinusoids with formant synthesis, subtracting them from the original sound, and then removing some harmonics remained. The synthesized sounds are consequently by adding sinusoids, which are shown to be similar to the original Haegeum sounds. Furthermore, GPU accelerates the synthesis process enabling- real time music synthesis system development, supporting more sound effect, and multiple musical sound compositions.
