유사 가버 특징에 기반한 텍스쳐 분류 (Texture Classification Based on Gabor-like Feature)

  • 텍스쳐를 효과적으로 표현하는 것은 컴퓨터 비전 분야에서 매우 중요한 과정이다. 효과적인 텍스쳐 표현을 통해 텍스쳐 분류나 텍스쳐 분할 등의 처리 성능을 향상시킬 수 있다. 가버 필터는 텍스쳐 표현을 위해 오랫동안 사용된 다해상도 스케일 기반의 방법이다. 가버 필터는 텍스쳐 분류나 분할에 높은 성능을 제공한다. 그러나 처리 과정의 연산량으로 인해 처리 시간이 매우 많이 소요되어 실제 응용에서는 사용하기 어려운 문제가 있다. 본 논문에서는 가버 필터와 유사하게 다해상도 스케일 기반으로 텍스쳐를 표현할 수 있는 새로운 특징 표현 방법을 제안한다. 제안한 방법은 주파수 공간에서 방향과 스케일을 기반으로 다해상도 스케일 기반으로 텍스쳐를 표현한다. 2가지 실험 영상 집합에 대해 분류 실험을 수행하여 제안한 특징의 유용성을 확인하였다. 가버 필터와 유사한 분류 성능을 제공하면서 처리 속도는 가버 필터의 5%이하로 줄일 수 있는 것을 확인하였다.

측정치 시간지연을 보상한 고속, 고기동 항체용 전자광학 추적장비 항법 알고리즘 (Navigation Algorithm for Electro-Optical Tracking System of High Speed and High Maneuvering Vehicle with Compensation of Measurement Time-Delay)

  • In order to improve target tracking performance of the conventional electro-optical tracking system (EOTS) in the high speed and high maneuvering vehicle, an EOTS navigation algorithm is proposed, in which an inertial measurement unit(IMU) is included and navigation results of the vehicle are used. The proposed algorithm integrates vehicle's navigation results and the IMU and the time-delay and the scale factor errors are augmented into the integrated Kalman filter. In order to evaluate the proposed navigation algorithm, a land vehicle navigation experiments were performed a navigation grade navigation system, TALIN4000 and a tactical grade IMU, LN-200 and a equipment for roll motion were loaded on the land vehicle. The performance evaluation results show that the proposed algorithm effecting works in high maneuvering environment and for the time-delay.

Impact force localization for civil infrastructure using augmented Kalman Filter optimization

  • Impact forces induced by external object collisions can cause serious damages to civil engineering structures. While accurate and prompt identification of such impact forces is a critical task in structural health monitoring, it is not readily feasible for civil structures because the force measurement is extremely challenging and the force location is unpredictable for full-scale field structures. This study proposes a novel approach for identification of impact force including its location and time history using a small number of multi-metric observations. The method combines an augmented Kalman filter (AKF) and Genetic algorithm for accurate identification of impact force. The location of impact force is statistically determined in the way to minimize the AKF response estimate error at measured locations and then time history of the impact force is accurately constructed by optimizing the error co-variances of AKF using Genetic algorithm. The efficacy of proposed approach is numerically demonstrated using a truss and a plate model considering the presence of modelling error and measurement noises.

다채널 조합형 계량기의 안정화 성능 개선에 관한 연구 (A Study on Measurement Time Reduction for Multi-Channel Combination Scale)

  • The performance of a multi-head, computerized combination scaling system to automatically identify a group of agricultural products having a total weight within the target range has been optimized to reduce the package cycle time of the merchandise. First, the structure of the scale was modified to enable faster measurement by enhancing the dynamic stability during the process. Second, the high frequency noise in the measured signal was eliminated by a high frequency filter to provide more accurate weight data. Finally, the algorithm to identify a group of products with a total weight within the target range was modified to enable a user to select an optimal number of scales. According to the experimental verifications, this modified system reduced the package cycle time significantly and also was accurate in measuring the total weight of the selected products.

표면 추적 알고리즘을 적용한 공통경로 FD-OCT의 성능개선 (Enhancement of Common-path Fourier-domain Optical Coherence Tomography using Active Surface Tracking Algorithm)

  • Optical coherence tomography(OCT) can provide real-time and non-invasive subsurface imaging with ultra-high resolution of micrometer scale. However, conventional OCT systems generally have a limited imaging depth range within a depth of only 1-2 mm. To overcome the limitation, we have proposed an active surface tracking algorithm used in common-path Fourier-domain OCT system in order to extend the imaging depth range. The surface tracking algorithm based on the threshold and Savitzky-Golay filter of A-scan data was applied to real-time tracking. The algorithm has controlled a moving stage according to the sample's surface variance in real time. An OCT image obtained by the algorithm clearly show an extended imaging depth range. Consequently, the proposed algorithm demonstrated the potential for improving the conventional OCT systems with limitary depth range.

  • Up to the present studies of the car number recognition system, it is generally known to have serious problems such as relatively long processing time due to the excessive length of data extracted from the number plate based on the current image characteristics, and the image blurring with the physical damage of the brightness and darkness signals of the number plate caused by external impulses with many difficulties in the extraction of the highlighted numbers. In this Paper we used the characteristics firstly having a constant brightness of number plate, and a high density to the horizontal axis, and the influences of highlighted signal could be reduced by making reflections less through the polarized filter on the camera for any highlighted signal. For the more, the data processing time and the noise reduction are effectively implemented by using the wavelet transform of time-space scale with the considerations on the physical loss and processing time.

  • In this paper, genetic algorithm based adaptive image enhancement filtering scheme is proposed and Implemented on FPGA board. Conventional filtering methods require a priori noise information for image enhancement. In general, if a priori information of noise is not available, heuristic intuition or time consuming recursive calculations are required for image enhancement. Contrary to the conventional filtering methods, the proposed filter system can find optimal combination of filters as well as their sequent order and parameter values adaptively to unknown noise types using structured genetic algorithms. The proposed image enhancement filter system is mainly composed of two blocks. The first block consists of genetic algorithm part and fitness evaluation part. And the second block consists of four types of filters. The first block (genetic algorithms and fitness evaluation blocks) is implemented on host computer using C code, and the second block is implemented on re-configurabe FPGA board. For gray scale control, smoothing and deblurring, four types of filters(median filter, histogram equalization filter, local enhancement filter, and 2D FIR filter) are implemented on FPGA. For evaluation, three types of noises are used and experimental results show that the Proposed scheme can generate optimal set of filters adaptively without a pioi noise information.

A Multiband Shunt Hybrid Active Filter with Sensorless Control

  • This paper proposes a Multiband Shunt Hybrid Active Filter (SHAF) with sensorless control. A plant is modeled in the discrete- time domain and a controller is designed using the Pole shifting law in the polynomial domain. This control approach is very useful for filtering the load harmonics with reduced sensor counts where a low cost solution like SHAF is required. Multiple Synchronous Reference Frames (MSRF) and low pass filters are used to measure the $5^{th}$ and $7^{th}$ harmonic components separately from the load and filter currents. Individual current controllers are designed for the $5^{th}$ and $7^{th}$ harmonic currents. Control is realized in the stationary, three-phase (abc) reference frame. Performance of the controller is validated through simulation, using realistic plant and controller models, as well as experimentally on a full-scale distribution system.

정현파 모델링을 이용한 폴리포닉 오디오 신호의 시간축 변화 (Time-Scale Modification of Polyphonic Audio Signals Using Sinusoidal Modeling)

  • 본 논문에서는 폴리포닉 음과 같은 복잡한 스펙트럼을 갖는 오디오 신호를 정현파 성분으로 모델링하고, 이를 바탕으로 고음질의 시간축 변화된 음을 얻는 방법을 제안한다. 입력 신호는 옥타브 밴드 구조의 다중 해상도 필터 뱅크를 통과하고 여기에서 나온 각 서브밴드 신호로부터 정현파 성분이 축출된다. 서브밴드 신호의 정현파 분석시 정현파 성분을 추출하는 구간의 크기를 국지적인 신호의 특성에 따라 다르게 해 주는 동적 세그멘테이션 방법을 적용한다. 이렇게 함으로써 기존 정현파 모델링에서 신호의 천이 구간에서 발생하는 퍼짐 현상을 개선하고, 시간축 변화 시에도 원래 음에 가까운 음질을 얻을 수 있다. 정현파 분석을 위한 스펙트럼 분석 도구로는 심리 음향 모델을 적용한 matching pursuit을 사용함으로써 정현파 성분의 갯수를 줄이고, matching pursuit의 반복 과정에 대한 합리적인 정지 조건을 제공할 수 있다. 정현파 성분으로 표현하기 어려운 신호의 잡음 성분은 원래 신호에서 정현파 성분으로 합성된 신호를 뺀 것으로 얻을 수 있으며, 스펙트럼 포락선 근사화 방법으로써 모델링된다. 본 논문의 알고리즘을 적용해 다양한 폴리포닉 음에 대해 실험한 결과 제안한 정현파 모델링 방법이 원래 신호의 음질을 잘 복원할 수 있고, 시간축 변화율이 큰 경우에도 신호의 천이 구간을 잘 표현할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • Barometers can provide height information steady but its accuracy becomes poor as the air data varies due to the vehicles's moving or time's elapsing. In order to keep the accuracy in spite of the air data changes, we propose a filter for the identification of baro-errors. The baro-errors mainly consist of bias and scale factor errors which gradually varies as the air data varies. With GPS height measurements, the scale factor and bias estimator is designed by applying the interacting multiple model (IMM) filtering technique to the baro-error random walk model. The resultant estimates are used to compensate current baro-measurement to supply accurate measurements steadily.
