  • In this paper, a coordinated scheduling algorithm is proposed to reduce end-to-end delay in distributed control of systems. For the algorithm, the analysis of practical end-to-end delay in the worst case is performed priory with considering implementation of the systems. The end-to-end delay is composed of the delay caused by multi-task scheduling of operating systems, the delay caused by network communications, and the delay caused by asynchronous timing between operating systems and network communications. Through some simulation tests based on CAN(Controller Area Network), the proposed worst case end-to-end delay analysis is validated. Through the simulation tests, it is also shown that a real-time distributed control system designed to existing worst case delay cannot guarantee end-to-end time constraints. With the analysis, a coordinated scheduling algorithm is proposed here. The coordinated scheduling algorithm is focused on the reduction of the delay caused by asynchronous timing between operating systems and network communications. Online deadline assignment strategy is proposed for the scheduling. The performance enhancement of the distributed control systems by the scheduling algorithm is shown through simulation tests.

  • This paper obtains maximum allowable delay bounds for stability of network-based control systems and presents a network scheduling method which makes the network-induced delay be less than the maximum allowable delay bound. The maximum allowable delay bounds are obtained using the Lyapunov theorem. Using the network scheduling method, the bandwidth of a network can be allocated to each node and the sampling period of each sensor and controller can be determined. The presented method can handle three kinds of data (periodic, real-time asynchronous, and non real-time asynchronous data) and guarantee real-time transmissions of real-time synchronous data and periodic data, and possible transmissions of non real-time asynchronous data. The proposed method is shown to be useful by examples in two types of network protocols such as the token control and the central control.

  • This paper presents a systematic analysis and a simple design of a robust adaptive control law for a class of non linear systems with modeling errors and a time-delay input. The theory for designing a robust adaptive control law based on input- output feedback linearization of non linear systems with uncertainties and a time-delay in the manipulated input by the approach of parameterized state feedback control is presented. The main advantage of this method is that the parameterized state feedback control law can effectively suppress the effect of the most parts of nonlinearities, including system uncertainties and time-delay input in the pp-coupling perturbation form and the relative order of non linear systems is not limited.

  • A time-delay compensation method for vector control system is proposed that can compensate for voltage and current distortions resulting from a time delay in the overall system due to the low pass filter, hysteresis control inverter, microprocessor program computation time, and so on. The proposed scheme estimates the time delay using the difference between the Q-axis stator current command and the time-delayed actual Q-axis stator current in a synchronous reference frame, then compensates the time delay in the voltage and current using the angular displacement of a DQ transformation. Accordingly, the proposed scheme can accurately compensate for the time delay related to the overall system, thereby significantly improving the performance of the vector control system, as verified by simulation and experiment.

  • This paper presents the robust stability condition of uncertain Takagi-Sugeno(T-S) fuzzy systems with time-varying delay. New augmented Lyapunov-Krasovskii function is constructed to ensure that the system with time-varying delay is globally asymptotically stable. Also, less conservative delay-dependent stability criteria are obtained by employing some integral inequality, reciprocally convex approach and new delay-partitioning method. Finally, two numerical examples are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • We prove that TCP Vegas globally converges to its equilibrium point in finite time assuming no feedback information delay. We analyze a continuous-time TCP Vegas model with discontinuity and high nonlinearity. Using the upper right-hand derivative and applying the comparison lemma, we cope with the discontinuous signum function in the TCP Vegas model; using a change of state variables, we deal with the high nonlinearity. Although we ignore feedback information delay in analyzing the model of TCP Vegas, the simulation results illustrate that TCP Vegas in the presence of feedback information delay shows very similar dynamic trends to TCP Vegas without feedback information delay. Consequently, dynamic properties of TCP Vegas without feedback information delay can be used to estimate those of TCP Vegas in the presence of feedback information delay.

  • This paper deals with the delay-dependent and rate-independent stabilization of systems with multiple unknown time-varying delays and time-varying structured uncertainties. All the linear matrix inequalities based conditions are derived by employing free-weighting matrices to express the relationships between the terms in the Leibniz-Newton formula. The criteria do not require any tuning parameters. Numerical examples demonstrate the validity of the method.

  • In this paper, the problem of the stability analysis for a class of linear neutral systems with time-varying delay is investigated. Using the Lyapunov method, a delay-dependent sufficient condition for asymptotic stability of the systems in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) is presented. The LMIs can be easily solved by various convex optimization algorithms.

  • In this paper, we consider a class of time-varying systems with time-varying state delay. Generally, this system is affected by many uncertainties and we assume that the information of the upper bound(time-delay, uncertainty) is known. In this work, we propose a robust control for system with state delay. The stability based on Lyapunov function is presented. Finally, a numberical example is given to demonstrate the validity of the result.
