  • The global trends of mobile communication system is moving toward digitizing, high-speed and large-capacity. Also, to utilize the limited frequency-resource efficiently, spread spectrum system is a mainstream. In this study we are concerning with the fast frequency-hopping system. Instead of the PLL with many problems such as phase-noise, we used the DDS is popular in these days minimizes the disadvantage of PLL. In the case the FFH system is designed using the PLL, it is difficult to be satisfied of the design conditions such as RF badwidth and the settling time of PLL, and it has limitation because of complex circuit by using the balanced modulator. In this study, we evaluated the performance in order to design the FFH system using the DDS. The system that has the improvement of error rate, 1Mhps hopping rate and 5MHz RF bandwidth is designed and evaluated.

  • In this paper, the performance improvement of ultra-wideband(UWB) communications system to achieve high-data-rate using spatial diversity provided by multiple receive antennas is investigated. We derive the expression for the received SINR after spatially combining through multiple receive antennas and evaluate the bit error rate(BER) performance by numerical simulation. We also compare the performance results in the case of 2PPM systems with the theoretical performance results in the case of 2PAM THMA UWB systems. The impacts of spatial diversity on the performance of 2PPM and 2PAM THMA UWB systems are analyzed. It is shown that the BER performance is improved as the number of receive antennas increases. Also, it is observed that in the presence of multiple user interference signals, the performance of 2PAM THMA UWB systems is considerably superior to that of 2PPM THMA UWB systems.

  • This paper presents a regionalized time slotted channel hopping (TSCH) slotframe-based aerial data collection using wake-up radio. The proposed scheme aims to minimize the delay and energy consumption when an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) collects data from sensor devices in the large-scale service area. To this end, the proposed scheme divides the service area into multiple regions, and determines the TSCH slotframe length for each region according to the number of cells required by sensor devices in each region. Then, it allocates the cells dedicated for data transmission to the TSCH slotframe using the ID of each sensor device. For energy-efficient data collection, the sensor devices use a wake-up radio. Specifically, the sensor devices use a wake-up radio to activate a network interface only in the cells allocated for beacon reception and data transmission. The simulation results showed that the proposed scheme exhibited better performance in terms of delay and energy consumption compared to the existing scheme.

  • For FH/SS communication, We discussed the method of indirect frequency synthesizer in several methods. The problem of sing1e frequency synthesizer using with PLL is a varied coefficient value of damping factor in frequency hopping time, which is caused unstable frequency. So. for stable frequency synthesizer, a coefficient of damping factor must be optimized and synthesized to be removed excessive response time. In this paper, we studied FH using with double loop frequency synthesizer which takes stable frequency. We made up a simulator and had a good performance(real time speed).

  • We treat the problem of channel estimation and interference cancellation in multiuser ultra-wide-band (UWB) communication systems over multipath fading channels. The UWB system under consideration employs a random time-hopping impulse radio format. We develop a channel estimation method based on linear weighted algorithm. An iterative channel estimation and interference cancellation scheme is proposed to successively improve the receiver performance. We also consider systems employing multiple transmit and/or receive antennas. For systems with multiple receive antennas, we develop a diversity receiver for the wellseparated antennas. For systems with multiple transmit antennas, we propose to make use of Alamouti’s space-time transmission scheme, and develop the corresponding channel estimation and interference cancellation receiver techniques. Simulation results are provided to demonstrate the performance of various UWB receiver techniques developed in this paper.

  • In this paper, the 800 MHz band N fractional frquency synthesizer having 677 channel with 30 kHz channel bandwidth is designed on the based on the theory which is dervied in terms of the relation between reference freqiency and the number of channels, loop bandwidth and acquistion time. The experimental resuls show 10 Hz deviation from the bandwidth and acquisition time. The experimental results show 10 Hz deviation from the bandwidth, the spurious suppression of aroud -45 dBc and the acqusition time of 1.44 ms. The results satisfy the given specification, but don't achieve thebesired spurious -60 dBc suppression. It is found that 500 hop per second will be possible over the range from 800 to 820 MHz.

  • For the first time, PLL frequency synthesizer using DDS was adapted for the data link communication system which should fast transmit and receive each other with the correct information and fast Hopping System. It is inevitable to lost the synchronization by slow lock time about PLL and no cut off the noise. This paper propose the design of PLL frequency synthesizer which can make 800MHz frequency range. The PLL frequency synthesizer has three high qualities those are frequency accuracy, fast lock time and outstanding phase noise.

  • We propose a hybrid multiple access (HMA) for uplink orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) systems, which combines two resource sharing schemes: a scheduling-based resource allocation (SBRA) scheme and a contentionbased resource allocation (CBRA) scheme. The SBRA scheme is appropriate for non-real time high data rate traffic, and, CBRA is appropriate for near-real time low/medium data rate traffic. Thus, the proposed HMA scheme supports various types of traffic. As a CBRA scheme, our proposed random frequency hopping (RFH)-OFDMA scheme was presented. Simulation results show that the proposed HMA yields the best performance among various resource allocation schemes for uplink OFDMA systems.

  • For over half a century, the United States (US) and its coalition military aircrafts have been using Ultra High Frequency (UHF) band analog modulation (AM) radios in ground-to-air communication and short-range air-to-air communications. Evolving from this, since 2007, the US military and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) adopted HAVE QUICK to be used by almost all aircrafts, because it had been revealed that intercepting and jamming of former aircraft communication signals was possible, which placed a serious threat to defense systems. The second-generation Anti-jam Tactical UHF Radio for NATO (SATURN) was developed to replace HAVE QUICK systems by 2023. The NATO Standardization Agreement (STANAG) 4372 is a classified document that defines the SATURN technical and operational specifications. In preparation of this future upgrade to SATURN systems, in this paper, the SATURN technical and operational specifications are reviewed, and the network synchronization, frequency hopping, and communication setup parameters that are controlled by the Network (NET) Time, Time Of Day (TOD), Word Of Day (WOD), and Multiple Word of Day (MWOD) are described in addition to SATURN Edition 3 (ED3) and future Edition 4 (ED4) basic features. In addition, an anti-jamming performance analysis (in reference to partial band jamming and pulse jamming) and the time delay queueing model analysis are conducted based on a SATURN transmitter and receiver assumed model.
