Effect of Planting Density and Nitrogen Level on Growth and Yield in Heavy Panicle Weight Type of Japonica Rice

  • To investigate the effects of planting density and nitrogen level on growth and yield potential of newly bred heavy panicle japonica rice with large grain (Iksan 435 and Iksan 438) or many spikelets per panicle(HR14022-21-8-4 and HR14022-21-8-6), four heavy panicle type rices and two many panicle type rices(Dongjinbyeo and Donganbyeo) as the checks were planted under standard planting density (30$\times$15 cm) and dense planting density (15$\times$15 cm) with two nitrogen levels of standard nitrogen level(110 kg h $a^{-1}$) and heavy nitrogen level(165 kg h $a^{-1}$). Effective tiller rate decreased in dense planting or heavy nitrogen, when compared to standard nitrogen and planting, while leaf area index and to dry weight increased in dense planting or heavy nitrogen. Tiller numbers and panicle numbers were more increased by dense planting than heavy nitrogen, whereas spikelet numbers were more increased by heavy nitrogen than dense planting. Ripened grain ratio was slightly lower only in dense planting. 1,000 grain weight in brown rice was not significantly different in dense planting or heavy nitrogen. Milled rice yield was highest in heavy nitrogen with standard planting for heavy panicle type rice, while yield for many panicle type rice was highest in heavy nitrogen with dense planting, suggesting that many panicle type rice possesses higher adapt-ability for dense planting than heavy panicle type rice. Path coefficient analysis revealed that top dry weight, spikelet number and grain weight were the greatest positive contributors to yield, whereas tiller number was negative to yield.d.

국내 재래종 밀 계통 분리와 농업형질 특성 평가 (Phylogenetic Classification and Evaluation of Agronomic Traits of Korean Wheat Landrace (Triticum aestivum L.))

  • 식물유전자원의 중요성이 인식되면서 지속적으로 재배되어 온 재래종에 대한 유전학적 가치가 인정되고 있다. 이 연구에서는 경남에서 수집한 국내 재래종 밀에 대한 염색체와 이삭형태 관찰, 종자특성과 농업형질 평가, 및 국내 밀 품종과의 연관관계를 확인하였다. 국내 재래종 밀 4계통의 염색체는 42개로 확인되었으며, 이삭의 형태와 길이는 국내 품종인 금강밀과 차이를 보였다. 국내 재래종 밀 계통의 종실특성은 전반적으로 금강밀의 종실에 비하여 작은 면적, 너비, 및 길이를 보였으나, KWL-3의 배의 길이는 다른 재래종 밀뿐만 아니라 금강밀 종자의 배 길이보다도 길었다. 국내 재래종 밀 계통은 금강밀에 비하여 늦은 출수기와 성숙기를 보였다. 특히, KWL-3는 짧은 간장, KWL-2는 짧은 수장, KWL-1은 적은 분얼수를 보인 반면에 영화수와 일수립수는 금강에 비하여 재래종 밀 모든 계통에서 높았다. 이러한 이유는 금강밀에 비하여 높은 재래종 밀 계통의 임실률이 영향을 미친 것으로 판단된다. 하지만 재래종 밀 계통의 종실면적, 너비, 길이, 및 두께가 작아 금강밀보다 낮은 천립중을 보였다. 향후, 종실특성의 향상은 재래종 밀 계통에 필수 조건으로 생각하며, 금강밀에 비하여 높은 영화수와 일수립수 및 임실률은 유용한 유전인자로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

  • A series of soil bin experiment was carried to investigate the effects of rotary blade shape, rotational direction of rotary blade, number of blade and soil cutting disk blade on the characteristics of partial tillage. Among the three types of rotary blades, rotary blade for cultivator was considered to be proper for partial tillage of direct seeder considering the torque requirements and ratio of soil breaking. There is no need to attach so many blades to the rotary shaft. Four rotary blades were enough for efficient partial tillage by rotary tiller. Though soil cutting disk blade assisted the better formation of seedbed furrow, attachment of the soil cutting disk blade increased torque requirements.

Tall fescue의 생육과 thatch 축적에 미치는 압력요인의 영향 (Effect of Rolling Factor on the Growth and Thatch Accumulation in Tall fescue.)

  • Effect of Rolling factor on the growth and thatch accumulation in tall fescue was studied from the viewpoint of estimate the rolling factor to obtain the highest values of growth characters and analysis of thatch accumulation. Rolling factors were 1.82, 3.33, 4.29 and 4.85, respectively. The results are may he summarized as follows ; 1. Rolling factor was affected to obstructive on the growth of tall fescue. Thus, the rolling factor ( RF) had significant negative correlated with the dry weight of plant ( DW ), leaf weight (LW), stem weight (SW), dry weight of thatch (Th), number of tillers (NT) and C / F ratio. 2. Rolling factor of 1.82 was an adequate rolling factor for the growth. 3. The dry weight of thatch(Th) had significant positive correlated with DW, LW, and NT, but negative correlated with the dry weight of thatch per a tiller ( th / NT). 4. Thatch accumulation system can be shown in following diagram. yield compnents - DW ~ Th - Rf (LW, SW, NT, C/F) th/NT 5. The dry weight of thatch per a tiller(th / NT) was a concerning factor for the losses of thatch.

Characteristics of Waesungri Maize (Zea mays L.) Inbred with Multi Tillers and Ears for Crude Forage Use

  • Major characteristics of new Waesungri maize inbred line has multi-tiller and ears: five to six tillers and seven to eight ears per plant and flowering date of Waesungri was delayed about 18 and 24 days compared to Mo17 U.S line and IK$_4$ Korean local lines, respectively. Number of ears, fresh and dry weight per plant were significantly different among all tested hybrids including Waesungri/Sinkihong hybrid under different planting times and densities. Especially, both fresh and dry weight of IK$_1$/FR140//Waesungri F$_1$hybrid were significantly higher at high planting density. In kernel weight per unit area, Wnesungri/Sinkihong hybrid was high at high density and IK$_1$/FR140//Waesungri hybrid was high at low planting density. As results of analysis of variance, flowering date was shown a significantly different both planting times and varieties, while other characters including stem height were shown very variable in interactions with enviromental factors.

제초제(除草劑) Thiobencarb 처리(處理)가 벼 주요형질(主要形質)에 미치는 영향(影響) (Effect of Thiobencarb on Various Agronomic Traits of Rice(Oryza sativa L.) Cultivars)

  • Thiobencarb에 대한 벼의 내성(耐性)을 예측(豫測)하는데에 여러 가지 농업적(農業的) 형질(形質)의 중요도(重要度)를 구명키 위하여 thiobencarb에 반응(反應)을 달리하는 44품종(品種)을 대상(對象)으로 제초제(除草劑)를 처리(處理)하여 제특성(諸特性)을 조사(調査)하였던 결과(結果)를 요약(要約)하면 다음과 같다. Thiobencarb 처리(處理])에 의한 초장(草長), 분얼수(分蘖數), 간장(桿長), 이삭수, 이삭당 영화수(穎花數)의 내성(耐性) 및 감수성(感受性) 품종(品種)간 차이(差異)는 제초제(除草劑) 처리농도(處理濃度)가 높을 때 더 크게 나타났으나, 출수기(出穗期), 등숙율(登熟率)은 제초제(除草劑) 처리농도(處理濃度)에 영향(影響)을 받지 않았다. Thiobencarb 고농도(高濃度) 처리(處理)에서 초장(草長), 분얼수(分蘖數), 등숙율(登熟率)을 제외한 모든 형질(形質)에 대한 회귀계수(回歸係數)는 유의성(有意性)을 보였으며 thiobencarb 농도(濃度)에 관계없이 고도(高度)의 정(正)의 유의성(有意性)을 보인 이삭당 영화수(穎花數)와 이삭수가 thiobencarb에 반응을 달리한 품종들의 수량(收量)을 에측하는데 가장 유용(有用)한 요소(要素)로 나타났다.

Automatic Estimation of Tillers and Leaf Numbers in Rice Using Deep Learning for Object Detection

  • Recently, many studies on big data based smart farming have been conducted. Research to quantify morphological characteristics using image data from various crops in smart farming is underway. Rice is one of the most important food crops in the world. Much research has been done to predict and model rice crop yield production. The number of productive tillers per plant is one of the important agronomic traits associated with the grain yield of rice crop. However, modeling the basic growth characteristics of rice requires accurate data measurements. The existing method of measurement by humans is not only labor intensive but also prone to human error. Therefore, conversion to digital data is necessary to obtain accurate and phenotyping quickly. In this study, we present an image-based method to predict leaf number and evaluate tiller number of individual rice crop using YOLOv5 deep learning network. We performed using various network of the YOLOv5 model and compared them to determine higher prediction accuracy. We ako performed data augmentation, a method we use to complement small datasets. Based on the number of leaves and tiller actually measured in rice crop, the number of leaves predicted by the model from the image data and the existing regression equation were used to evaluate the number of tillers using the image data.

Germination Rate and Growth Responses of Turf grass to different temperatures and transplanting times

  • This experiment was carried out the investigation of proper temperature of germination and growth responses of turf grass to different seedling ages. The results were as follows; 1. It was indicated that the proper temperature of germination was 30$^{\circ}C$ of day and 15$^{\circ}C$ of night, and day length was 14/10 hrs. 2. It was observed that 50 days of seedling was excellent with growth components such as number of tiller, length of tillering, number of node and internode length.
