  • As a rapid increase of mobile network usage, many studies on solution for network traffic's demand problem have been done. Especially network environment measurement area provides basis for solving network traffic's demand problem by finding causes of problems through accurate network analysis. However, as increase of demand for smartphone, we should consider effects of mobile platform's property measuring mobile network. In this paper, we design a network traffic measurement system considering mobile platform. Through the information from packets, this system calculates packet transmission delay and throughput. We minimize computation cost required for a mobile device that is a client in this system. When fully using network resources, we found that Wi-Fi has shorter transmission delay, higher maximum throughput and lower loss rate than 3G, Android has shorter transmission delay and higher maximum throughput than iOS, and UDP has longer transmission delay and higher maximum throughput through this system.

  • In this study, we study measurement of wafer processing throughput and sequence simulation of single wafer type for wafer cleaning equipments that were used for etching, cleaning and polishing of wafer. Based on finite state machine, simulation model was built with identification of robot's status according to scheduling algorithm. Moreover, through performance of simulation as above, throughput per hour of cleaning equipment was measured. By the simulation method that are proposed in this paper, we could measure the wafer throughput per hour according to recipe and robot motion speed, and find optimal recipe and moving sequence of robot that maximize the throughput.

  • Until now, AOCS SW has used FPU which is one of CPU resources for satellite attitude control. And most of the SW Throughput was consumed to calculate Matrix Multiply. As SW throughput margin is decreasing seriously with shorter control period and more computational burden at next satellite programs, a dedicated HW matrix multiplier is absolutely required. This paper represents results of HW implementation & performance measurement and mentions several techniques for performance improvement, further works.

  • Due to advances in wireless communications and portable terminals, any-time, any-where, and any-device Internet access is possible. In particular, Internet access in moving vehicles is an emerging and challenging issue. Even though a variety studies have been conduced for vehicular networks, little attention is paid to vehicular Wi-Fi networks where a Wi-Fi access point (AP) is installed at the vehicle and the AP is connected to an external base station (BS). In this paper, we conduct a measurement study on the uplink and downlink throughput for Internet access in vehicular Wi-Fi networks. We consider diverse network environments: high-speed train, car, and subway. Measurement results demonstrate that current Internet access in vehicular Wi-Fi networks are not satisfactory for interactive multimedia applications. Therefore, in-depth study on resource management in vehicular Wi-Fi networks is strongly required.

  • Methods of the characteristics evaluation of turbo-molecular pumps (TMP) are well-defined in the international measurement standards such as ISO, PNEUROP, DIN, JIS, and AVS. The Vacuum Center in the Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science has recently designed, constructed, and established the integrated characteristics evaluation system of TMPs based on the international documents by continuously pursuing and acquiring the reliable international credibility through measurement perfection. The measurement of TMP pumping speed is normally performed with the throughput and orifice methods dependent on the mass flow regions. However, in the UHV range of the molecular flow region, the high uncertainties of the gauges, mass flow rates, and conductance are too critical to precisely accumulate reliable data. With UHV gauges of uncertainties less than 15% and a calculated conductance of the orifice, about 35% of pumping speed uncertainties are experimentally derived in the pressure range of less than $10^{-6}$ mbar. In order to solve the uncertainty problems of pumping speeds in the UHV range, we introduced an SRG with 1% accuracy and a constant volume flow meter (CVFM) to measure the finite mass flow rates down to $10^{-3}$ mbar-L/s with 3% uncertainty for the throughput method. In this way we have performed the measurement of pumping speed down to less than $10^{-6}$ mbar with an uncertainty of 6% for a 1000 L/s TMP. In this article we suggest that the CVFM has an ability to measure the conductance of the orifice experimentally with flowing the known mass through the orifice chambers, so that we may overcome the discontinuity problem encountering during introducing two measurement methods in one pumping speed evaluation sequence.

  • The purpose of this study is to propose a throughput costing as a performance measurement tool to measure cost indicators, which are one of the indicators for evaluating organizational performance in a smart factory manufacturing environment. An empirical study by questionnaire was conducted, and 60 experts were surveyed to verify the hypothesis. As a result of the study, it was concluded that the information provided based on throughput costing is helpful in cost measurement and in evaluating organizational performance efficiency and effectiveness, and it was confirmed that this method has usefulness to support the planning and control process. It is proposed that the use of throughput costing by constraint theory, which can maximize throughput and optimize inventory levels in the manufacturing process, can find solutions to bottlenecks affecting the efficiency and effectiveness of organizational performance.

  • Methods of the characteristics evaluation of turbo-molecular pumps (TMP) are well-defined in the international measurement standards such as ISO, PNEUROP, DIN, JIS, and AVS. The Vacuum Center in the Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science (KRISS) has recently designed, constructed, and established the integrated characteristics evaluation system of TMPs based on the international documents by continuously pursuing and acquiring the reliable international credibility through measurement perfection. In order to solve the uncertainty problems of pumping speeds in the UHV range, we introduced a SRG with 1% accuracy and a constant volume flow meter (CVFM) to measure the finite mass flow rates down to $10^{-1}$ Pa-L/s with 3% uncertainty for the throughput method. In this way we have performed the measurement of pumping speed down to $10^{-4}$ Pa with an uncertainty of less than 6% for a 1000 L/s TMP. In this article we suggest that the CVFM has an ability to measure the conductance of the orifice experimentally with flowing the known mass through the orifice chambers, so that we may overcome the discontinuity problem encountering during introducing two measurement methods in one pumping speed evaluation sequence.

  • IEEE 802.11p is a representative PHY/MAC layer standard in vehicular communications. The performance of IEEE 802.11p based communication systems has been measured in various criterions such as link setup time, error rate, and throughput for the case of one-to-one. In this paper, we measure the performance of IEEE 802.11p based communication systems in large capacity transmission. The performance of large capacity transmission is measured by considering the maximum 32 simultaneous transmission including one-to-one transmission. We consider two transmission schemes, i.e., broadcasting and unicasting, and the performance is represented as the receiving rate and throughput.

  • This paper investigates the network throughput of PLC (Power Line Communication) system in the in-building network. The OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) modulation format and adaptive bit loading algorithm is used to minimize the effect of signal loss and noise on transmission performance in the power line channel characterized by frequency selective fading. The network throughput of the PLC system which consists of gateway and CPE(Customer Premise Equipment) PLC modem in the in-building network is measured by network performance measurement tool, iperf and analyzed according to the TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) window size.
