The high performance drives of the slotless Permanent Magnet Brushless DC(PM BLDC) motor can be achieved by the current control, where the currents flow according to the rotor position and the current phase is suitably controlled according to the operational condition. Rotor position information can be provided by Hall-IC or sensorless algorithm. So, the Hall-ICs are set up in this motor to detect the main flux from the rotor. Instead of using three Hall-ICs and encoder, this paper uses only two Hall-ICs for the permanent magnet rotor position and the speed feedback signals, and uses a micro-controller of 16-bit type (80C196KC). Also because of low resolution obtained by using Hall-IC even low-cost and simple structure, to improve the wide range of speed response characteristic more exactly, we propose the rotor position signal synthesizer using PLL circuit based on two Hall-ICs.
Grid-connected inverters (GCIs) with an LCL output filter have the ability of attenuating high-frequency (HF) switching ripples. However, by using only grid-current control, the system is prone to resonances if it is not properly damped, and the current distortion is amplified significantly under highly distorted grid conditions. This paper proposes a synchronous reference frame equivalent proportional-integral (SRF-EPI) controller in the αβ stationary frame using the parallel virtual resistance-based active damping (PVR-AD) strategy for grid-interfaced distributed generation (DG) systems to suppress LCL resonance. Although both a proportional-resonant (PR) controller in the αβ stationary frame and a PI controller in the dq synchronous frame achieve zero steady-state error, the amplitude- and phase-frequency characteristics differ greatly from each other except for the reference tracking at the fundamental frequency. Therefore, an accurate SRF-EPI controller in the αβ stationary frame is established to achieve precise tracking accuracy. Moreover, the robustness, the harmonic rejection capability, and the influence of the control delay are investigated by the Nyquist stability criterion when the PVR-based AD method is adopted. Furthermore, grid voltage feed-forward and multiple PR controllers are integrated into the current loop to mitigate the current distortion introduced by the grid background distortion. In addition, the parameters design guidelines are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed strategy. Finally, simulation and experimental results are provided to validate the feasibility of the proposed control approach.

Existing methods have performed the reliability analysis using nonlinear optimization techniques. This is mainly due to the fact that they directly apply Multidisciplinary Design Optimization(MDO) frameworks to the reliability analysis formulation. Accordingly, the reliability analysis and the Multidisciplinary Analysis(MDA) are tightly coupled in a single optimizer, which hampers utilizing the recursive and function-approximation based reliability analysis methods such as the Advanced First Order Reliability Method(AFORM). In order to utilize the efficient reliability analysis method under multidisciplinary analysis systems, we propose a new strategy named Sequential Approach on Reliability Analysis under Multidisciplinary analysis systems(SARAM). In this approach, the reliability analysis and the MDA are decomposed and arranged in a sequential manner, making a recursive loop. The efficiency of the SARAM method was verified using three illustrative examples taken from the literatures. Compared with existing methods, it showed the least number of subsystem analyses over other methods while maintaining accuracy.

Actin is a ubiquitous and highly conserved protein found in eukaryotic organisms. In this study, we describe the cDNA cloning and mRNA expression of an actin gene from the mulberry longicorn beetle, Apriona germari. The A. germari actin cDNA is 1524 bp containing a complete 1128 bp open reading frame that encodes a polypeptide of 376 amino acid residues with a predicted molecular weight of about 41.5 kDa. The deduced amino acid sequence of the A.germari actin cDNA showed 99% protein sequence identity to Homalodisca coagulata actin, differing at only two amino acid positions, and 92-98% protein sequence identity to known insect species actins. The predicted three-dimensional structure of A. germari actin revealed the four residue hydrophobic pulg loop characteristic of the actin family. Northern blot analysis showed that A. germari actin is highly expressed in epidermis and muscle, and less strongly in midgut, but not in the fat body of A. germari larva.

The positive margins after LEEP(loop electrosurgical excision procedure) in cervical intraepithelial neoplasia are generally considered to be a risk factor for the recurrence or persistence of CIN currently. When positive margin exists, secondary LEEP or hysterectomy is performed. The aim of this study was to observe effects of Traditional Korean Medicine treatment for patients with surgical margin positive after LEEP. It was conducted retrospective chart review for 4 patients with the surgical margin positive after LEEP, who were scheduled to have secondary LEEP 3 months later. Patients were treated with herbal medicine, pharmacopuncture and herbal liquid vaginal treatment. They were followed up by cytology, colposcopy, human papillomavirus DNA test and punch-biopsy at 1, 3 and 6 months. After 3 month of treatment, three patients did not need secondary LEEP because of normal cytology, negative HPV status and normal colposcopy, while the other patient underwent secondary LEEP because of ASCUS cytology and positive high-risk HPV. After 6 month of treatment, the other patient also had normal cytology, negative HPV status and normal colposcopy and had been in fifth week of pregnancy. This study suggest that Traditional Korean Medicine treatment may be an effective to the patients with surgical margin positive after LEEP in cervical intraepithelial neoplasia.

Hysteresis loop, Barkhausen noise(BN), and hardness were measured in the neutron irradiated RPV steel for various fluence, irradiated dose up to $10^{18}n/cm^2$. The coercivity, remanence and maximum induction of neutron irradiated samples did not change significantly, but the BNA and BNE were decreased as the neutron irradiation increased. The changes of BNE and BNA were characterized by three stages with respect to neutron dose. The BNA and BNE were decreased with an increase of neutron dose to $10^{12}n/cm^2$, and remained nearly constant up to $10^{16}n/cm^2$, then were decreased rapidly with an increase of the neutron dose above $10^{16}n/cm^2$. On the other hand, the hardness was observed revesely with the change of BNA and BNE.

Helical-coil steam generator (HCSG) technology is a major design candidate for small modular reactors due to its compactness and capability to produce superheated steam with high generation efficiency. In this paper, we investigate the feasibility of the passively autonomous power maneuvering by coupling the 3-D transient multi-physics of a soluble-boron-free (SBF) core with a time-dependent HCSG model. The predictor corrector quasi-static method was used to reduce the cost of the transient 3-D neutronic solution. In the numerical system simulations, the feedwater flow rate to the secondary of the HCSGs is adjusted to extract the demanded power from the primary loop. This varies the coolant temperature at the inlet of the SBF core, which governs the passively autonomous power maneuvering due to the strongly negative coolant reactivity feedback. Here, we simulate a 100-50-100 load-follow operation with a 5%/minute power ramping speed to investigate the feasibility of the passively autonomous load-follow in a 450 MWth SBF PWR. In addition, the passively autonomous frequency control operation is investigated. The various system models are coupled, and they are solved by an in-house Fortran-95 code. The results of this work demonstrate constant steam temperature in the secondary side and limited variation of the primary coolant temperature. Meanwhile, the variations of the core axial shape index and the core power peaking are sufficiently small.
WKSF (Warp-knitted spacer fabrics) knitted using a double Raschel machine is the three-dimensional knit that has vertically connected separate layers in loop structures. Because of its unique structure, the fabric is light, compressible and breathable. Owing to the high production speed, the use of the fabric is increasing in various areas. The purpose of this study is to establish the design process in the utilization of WKSF program and analyze the difference between WKSF and Neoprene as garment materials.. The study on the design related to WKSF has rarely been carried out because of the complexity of WKSF structure and the difficulties encountered in analyzing the structure and thread. Therefore, checking beforehand the simulation results similar to a final knit using the CAD program for WKSF can only enhance the efficiency of the design for the light knits. The conclusion drawn after designing the light knits using the CAD program and analyzing the pros and cons of WKSF through the various property evaluation techniques is as follows. The tension characteristic analysis results indicated that Neoprene specimen has the elastic transformation and resilience, thus behaving like an elastic product such as rubber. By contrast, in the event that clothing and fashion accessories are designed with WKSF, these products are kept in a boxy style fit so that the fabric can be applied flexibly to a curvy body line. In addition, WKSF is good in forming noticeably around a curvy body, because its resistance shear deformation is lower than that of Neoprene.

An acoustic signal-based, tunnel-incident detection system was developed and evaluated. The system was comprised of three components: algorithm, acoustic signal collector, and server system. The algorithm, which was based on nonnegative tensor factorization and a hidden Markov model, processes the acoustic signals to attenuate noise and detect incident-related signals. The acoustic signal collector gathers the tunnel sounds, digitalizes them, and transmits the digitalized acoustic signals to the center server. The server system issues an alert once the algorithm identifies an incident. The performance of the system was evaluated thoroughly in two steps: first, in a controlled tunnel environment using the recorded incident sounds, and second, in an uncontrolled tunnel environment using real-world incident sounds. As a result, the detection rates ranged from 80 to 95% at distances from 50 to 10 m in the controlled environment, and 94 % in the uncontrolled environment. The superiority of the developed system to the existing video image and loop detector-based systems lies in its instantaneous detection capability with less than 2 s.

The lengthwise and widthwise deformation of warp-knitted fabrics with different sizes and loading modes were evaluated. Moreover, five tricot samples cut in three directions were compared under four test conditions (A-D). In tests A and B, 500 and 250 g loads were applied on a layer of 20 × 20 and 5 × 10 cm2 samples, respectively. In test C, a 20 × 20 cm2 sample was folded in half over a rod, and 500 g load was applied to each half. In test D, a 20 × 20 cm2 sample was sewn in a loop and subjected to a 500 g load. The lengthwise extension and widthwise contraction analysis results indicate that test B affords the largest values. However, analysis results of the warp-knitted fabric normalized through conversion to a 1 g load and 1 cm sample width indicate that the largest values are afforded for test D. Therefore, pattern reduction may vary depending on the measurement method and properties of the knitted fabric used for the compression wear production, causing variations in the finished product. Thus, an appropriate measurement method must be adopted based on the compression wear design and knitted fabric to be used.
