SQUID와 검출코일의 초전도 결합방식이 개선된 1차 권선형 미분계 시스템 (First-order Wire-wound SQUID Gradiometer System Having Compact Superconductive Connection Structure between SQUID and Pickup Coil)

  • In order to have a superconductive connection between the wire-wound pickup coil and input coil, typically Nb terminal blocks with screw holes are used. Since this connection structure occupies large volume, large stray pickup area can be generated which can pickup external noise fields. Thus, SQUID and connection block are shielded inside a superconducting tube, and this SQUID module is located at some distance from the distal coil of the gradiometer to minimize the distortion or imbalance of uniform background field due to the superconducting module. To operate this conventional SQUID module, we need a higher liquid He level, resulting in shorter refill interval. To make the fabrication of gradiometers simpler and refill interval longer, we developed a novel method of connecting the pickup coil into the input coil. Gradiometer coil wound of 0.125-mm diameter NbTi wires were glued close to the input coil pads of SQUID. The superconductive connection was made using an ultrasonic bonding of annealed 0.025-mm diameter Nb wires, bonded directly on the surface of NbTi wires where insulation layer was stripped out. The reliability of the superconductive bonding was good enough to sustain several thermal cycling. The stray pickup area due to this connection structure is about $0.1\;mm^2$, much smaller than the typical stray pickup area using the conventional screw block method. By using this compact connection structure, the position of the SQUID sensor is only about 20-30 mm from the distal coil of the gradiometer. Based on this compact module, we fabricated a magnetocardiography system having 61 first-order axial gradiometers, and measured MCG signals. The gradiometers have a coil diameter of 20 mm, and the baseline is 70 mm. The 61 axial gradiometer bobbins were distributed in a hexagonal lattice structure with a sensor interval of 26 mm, measuring $dB_z/dz$ component of magnetocardiography signals.

An Innovative Solution for the Power Quality Problems in Induction Motor by Using Silica and Alumina Nano Fillers Mixed Enamel for the Coatings of the Windings

  • Power quality has always been a concern of power engineers. Certainly an argument can be successfully made that most parts of power engineering have the ultimate objective to improve power quality. AC motors were widely used in industrial and domestic applications. Generally, AC motors were of two types: Induction and Synchronous motors. In motor many parameters like different load cycling, switching, working in hot weather and unbalances creates harmonics which creates major reasons for temperature rise of the motors. Due to high peak value of voltage, harmonics can weaken insulation in cables, windings and capacitors and different electronic components. Higher value of harmonics increase the motor current and decrease the power factor which will reduce the life time of the motor and increase the overall rating of all electrical equipments. Harmonics reduction of all the motors in India will save more power. Coating of windings of the motor with nano fillers will reduce the amount of harmonics in the motor. Based on the previous project works, actions were taken to use the enamel filled with various nano fillers for the coating of the windings of the different AC motors. Ball mill method was used to convert the micro particles of Al2O3, SiO2, TiO2, ZrO2 and ZnO into nano particles. SEM, TEM and XRD were used to augment the particle size of the powder. The synthesized nano powders were mixed with the enamel by using ultrasonic vibrator. Then the enamel mixed with the nano fillers was coated to the windings of the several AC motors. Harmonics were measured in terms of various indices like THD, VHD, CHD and DIN by using Harmonic analyzer. There are many other measures and indices to describe power quality, but none is applicable in all cases and in many instances, these indices may hide more than they show. Sometimes power quality indices were used as a basis of comparison and standardization. The efficiency of the motors was increased by 5 – 10 %. The thermal withstanding capacity of the motor was increased by 5º to 15º C. The harmonics of the motors were reduced by 10 – 50%.

  • 표면개질이란 재료 본연의 특성만으로 원하는 성능과 기능을 발휘할 수 없는 때 기재 표면에 열에너지, 응력 등을 부가하여 새로운 표면층을 형성하는 방법으로, 소지금속의 방청, 외관미화, 내마모성, 전기절연, 전기전도성 부여 등의 폭넓은 목적을 달성시키고자 하는 일련의 조작을 말한다. 이러한 표면개질에는 도금, 화성처리, 도장, 라이닝, 코팅, 표면 경화 등이 있다. 그 중 전해액을 이용한 표면개질은 오래전부터 공업적으로 활용하기 위한 연구가 많이 이루어져 왔으며, 원가절감과 높은 생산성, 그리고 복잡한 형상에 대한 적용이 가능해 여러 분야에서 각광받고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 5083-O 알루미늄 합금을 이용해 해양환경에서 우수한 내식성을 보유할 수 있는 최적의 표면개질 전해액 온도를 선정하고자 전기화학 실험을 실시하였다. 실험 결과, 표면개질을 실시한 경우가 현저히 낮은 부식전류밀도를 나타냈으며, 특히 불완전 기공이 생성된 $5^{\circ}C$를 제외하고 전해액 온도가 증가함에 따라 감소하는 결과를 나타냈다.

어린이집 실내·외 석면노출 가능성 조사에 관한 연구 (A Survey on Asbestos Exposure Possibility in Indoor and Outdoor Environments of Childcare Centers)

  • Objectives: Because of its properties such as resistance to heat, chemicals and corrosion; tensile strength; sound absorption; and affordable price, asbestos has been widely used as a building material, fire resistant and retardant, thermal and heat insulator, soundproofing material, and electrical insulation. Since the prolonged inhalation of asbestos can cause serious illnesses such as lung cancer, mesothelioma, and asbestosis after an incubation period of 20 to 40 years, the mineral was classified as a Group 1 carcinogen by the International Agency for Research on Cancer, an intergovernmental agency forming part of the World Health Organization. Children and infants are more at risk than are adults if they are exposed to carcinogens, due to aweaker immunity that has not yet been fully developed. Most childcare centers are operated all day and children tend to spend a great amount of time in the centers. This is why it is important for them to be systematically isolated from environments that may expose them to asbestos. Materials: In order to understand both indoor and outdoor hazards to which children may have been exposed, the study focused on actual surveys of asbestos used in childcare centers, paying special attention to slate-roofed buildings in the vicinity of the centers. Results: A survey of a total of 211 childcare centers showed that the buildings of 18.1% of the centers contained asbestos, with 60.53% of the material being found in classroom ceilings. "Tex" was the most used material for ceilings, making up 89.47% of all ceilings. An outdoor survey showed that childcare centers in Daegu Metropolitan City had an average of 143 slate-roof buildings within a distance of 1km. Conclusions: Buildings housing mainly toddlers, children, teenagers and others more vulnerable to the toxicity of asbestos are not subject to asbestos investigation by law. A legal and practical basis for asbestos control is required for such buildings. In particular, housing materials which contain asbestos in day care centers require asbestos control. GIS should be used to identify the location of buildings with slate roofing materials in the vicinity of daycare centers in order to gauge toxicity of exposure to asbestos caused by potential asbestos friability possibility in outdoor conditions.

탄소섬유 면상발열체의 발열 상태 분석을 위한 영상처리 기술 (Image Processing Technology for Analyzing the Heating State of Carbon Fiber Surface Heating Element)

  • 본 논문에서는 탄소섬유를 이용한 면상발열체의 발열 상태를 영상처리 기술을 이용한 분석을 제안하였다. 면상발열체의 제작 방법은 탄소섬유를 작게 잘라 촙 상태로 만든 다음 분산제를 통하여 다시 결합시켜 준다. 그 다음 부직포 위에 분산제를 통해 결합된 탄소섬유 용액을 필터링 한다. 마지막 단계는 필터링된 탄소섬유를 건조 하면 부직포 형태의 면상 탄소 섬유를 얻을 수 있다. 면상발열체는 이렇게 제작된 면상 탄소 섬유에 전기를 인가하면 된다. 본 논문에서는 면상발열체를 4가지 방법으로 분석하였다. 분석 방법 중 면상 발열체의 발열특성 분석과 면상발열체의 발열속도 분석은 제작된 면상발열체가 정상군에 해당하는지를 확인한다. 절연 코팅 및 면상 발열체 모듈 분석은 실제 제품의 제작에 사용될 수 있는 면상발열체에 대해 영상처리 기술을 이용하여 2차원 이미지 분석이다. 면상발열체의 열화상 이미지 분석은 2차원 및 3차원으로 발열 상태를 분석할 뿐만 아니라, 발열의 상위온도 15~20%와 하위온도 15~20%를 이미지에 표시하는 프로그램 기법이다. 마지막 분석은 제작된 면상발열체의 상태를 화면에 직접 보여줌으로써 제작 과정 중 잘못된 부분을 쉽게 찾을 수 있다. 이와 같은 면상발열체의 이미지 분석 방법은 기존의 방법과 결합하여 발열상태를 더욱 정밀하게 분석할 수 있었다.

이식 시기와 초종에 따른 잔디뿌리의 활착력 (Rooting-Potential of Sod by Transplanting Time and Turfgrass Species)

  • 본 연구는 이식 후 경기를 수용할 수 있는 잔디의 생육기간과 잔디뿌리의 활착 요구기간을 측정함으로써 2002년 월드컵 잔디그라운드 조성 공사에서 발생될 문제를 예측하고 이를 해결하는데 필요한 자료를 얻기 위하여 1998년부터 2000년까지 2년에 걸쳐 월드컵 경기장과 동일한 지반에서 포장실험을 실시하였다. 한지형잔디와 한국잔디 모두 묘포장의 뗏장에서 경기장 그라운드로의 이식시기는 잔디의 활착력과 근계 발달에 직접적인 영향을 미쳤으며 초종에 따라 그 영향은 달리 나타났다. 한국잔디로 그라운드를 조성하려면 한지형잔디와 달리 충분한 양생기간을 확보한 적기에 뗏장을 식재하는 것이 좋았다. 또한 동계 간 보온 등의 관리가 수반되면 지하부의 발육과 근계 활착이 동계에도 지속되어 활착력이 조기에 증가하는 것을 알 수 있었다.

압축과 비틂을 동시에 받는 복합스터드의 구조적 성능에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Structural Performance of Hybrid Studs Subjected to Compression and Torsion)

  • 최근까지 벽식 스틸하우스에 구조재로 주로 적용되어오고 있는 박판냉간성형형강 스터드의 경우 열교현상에 의한 단열상의 문제를가지고 있기 때문에 추가적인 단열재를 사용하여야 한다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위한 새로운 개념의 아연도금강판(t =1.0mm-1.2mm)과 난연 강화플라스틱(GFRP) 패널 (t=4.0mm-6.0mm)로 구성된 복합스터드가 개발되었다. 복합스터드 패널을 주택 에 적용하기 위하여, 복합스터드의 구조적인 거동 및 내하력 평가를 수행하였다. 본 논문에서는 ATTM(Axial/Torsional Test machine)을 이용하여 수행된 압축력과 비틂을 동시에 받는 복합스터드의 실험적인 연구결과를 기술하였다. 압축-비틂 실험의 주요 변수는 복합스터드의 길이, 초기 압축력, 가력방법 등이며, 초기 압축력을 일정하게 유지한 상태에서 스터드 시험체가 종국적인 파괴에 이르도록 비틂 하중을 점차 증가시키는 방법으로 실험을 수행하였다. 또한 고강도 아연도금강판과 GFRP의 기계적인 특성을 고려한 비선형 유한요소해석을 수행하여 실험결과와 비교, 검증하였다.

서열환경하에서 체지방률에 따른 오전과 오후의 체온조절반응 (Thermoregulatory Responses of AM & PM with Body Fat Rate at a Hot Environment)

  • With regard to the fact that temperature of human body remains almost constant at $37^{\circ}C$, changes by circadian variation, this study intended to investigate the effect of circadian rhythm on physiological responses of human body according to body fat rate. Fifteen healthy adult women were recruited for this study and were measured body fat as a method of bio impedance. We organized subjects into three groups ; low body fat group(group L-less than 20% of body fat), medium body fat group(group M-20%~30% of body fat) and high body fat group(group H-more than 30% of body fat). The experiment was carried out in a climate chamber of $32^{\circ}C$, 60% RH with the repeat of 'Exercise' and 'Rest' period. Subjects participated in two experiments, one is morning experiment(called 'AM'), the other is afternoon experiment (called 'PM'). The results of this study are as follows ; As to the variation of rectal temperature, group L and M had a significant difference in the time of the day between AM and PM, but group H had almost the same rectal temperature in the two kinds of experimental time. The reason why group H had a smaller difference in the circadian rhythm of rectal temperature in this study is estimated at the Budd et al.(1991)'s results that body fat had effects on reduction in thermogenesis, radiation, mean skin temperature, and increase in insulation of the tissues. Group M had the highest mean skin temperature in the 'PM'. All the 3 groups didn't have stable values in 'AM'. But it showed more stable in 'PM' than 'AM'. Sweat rate was the highest in group H in both 'AM' and 'PM'. Group M had larger sweat rate in 'PM' than 'AM'. but in group L and H, sweat rate was almost the same in two kinds of time of the day. This result suggests that who have more or less body fat have larger difference in sweat rate between morning and afternoon than who have normal body fat.

발포제 함량에 따른 경량 다공성 지오폴리머의 밀도와 강도 특성 (Effect of Foaming Agent Content on the Apparent Density and Compressive Strength of Lightweight Geopolymers)

  • 경량 지오폴리머는 경량 시멘트 콘크리트보다 단순한 공정으로 제조가 가능하고 탁월한 내열 성능까지 갖춘 재료이다. 고형 지오폴리머의 밀도는 발포제와 지오폴리머 배합물과의 화학반응으로 발생되는 가스가 기공을 형성함으로서 감소시킬 수 있기 때문이다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 함량의 알루미늄 분말을 첨가하여 다공성 지오폴리머의 특성에 어떤 영향을 주는지 살펴보고자 하였다. 경량 지오폴리머의 겉보기 밀도는 알루미늄 분말 함량이 0.025, 0.05, 0.10wt% 범위에서 0.7에서 $1.2g/m^3$로 나타났는데 이는 고형 지오폴리머의 겉보기 밀도 값 $1.96g/cm^3$의 약 37~60%에 해당하였다. 경량 다공성 지오폴리머의 압축강도는 고형 지오폴리머의 압축강도 45MPa의 6~18%에 불과하였다. 고형 지오폴리머와 경량 지오폴리머 겔의 미세조직 형상은 유사하였다. 폴리프로필렌 섬유를 첨가한 지오폴리머 배합물의 작업성은 섬유 보강 시멘트 콘크리트에서와 마찬가지로 개선될 필요가 있다. 경량 다공성 지오폴리머는 현무암과 유사한 외관뿐만 아니라 뛰어난 내열 성능을 갖기 때문에 타일이나 보드 등 건축용 내장재로서의 활용 가능성이 높다고 본다.

실측데이터를 이용한 저에너지주택의 에너지성능평가 (Energy Performance Evaluation of Low Energy Houses using Metering Data)

  • This study analyzed analyzes the energy performance of six houses in Daejeon completed which were built in 2011. Observed The observed houses, which were all designed and constructed inof the same size and structure, are were highly insulated with triple Low-E coating windows; the insulation level of the walls is was $0.13W/m^2K$ and that of the roof is was $0.10W/m^2K$. As electric houses, all of the energy supplied to the houses, including for cooking, is was supplied by electricity. A and 3~4 kWp of photovoltaic system and a 3~5 kW of ground source heat pump (GSHP) were installed in each house tofor providing provide space heating/and cooling and hot water are installed. We constructed a Web-based remote monitoring system in order to understand energy consumption and the dynamic behavior of the energy system. T, and the results of our metering data analysis of 2013 are as follows. First, the annual residential energy consumption is was 4,400 kWh (${\sigma}=1,209$) and GSHP energy consumption is was 5,182 kWh (${\sigma}=1,164$). Second, residential energy consumption ranked highest in average energy usage, with at 45% of the total, followed by heating with at 30%, hot water supply with at 17% and cooling with at 6%. Third, the average energy independence rate is was 51.8%, the GFA (Gross gross floor area) criteria average energy consumption unit is was $48.7kWh/m^2yr$ (${\sigma}=10.1$), and the net energy consumption unit (except the energy yield of the PV systems) is was $24.7kWh/m^2yr$ (${\sigma}=8.8$).
