디젤기관의 아트킨슨 사이클화에 따른 제반성능의 열역학적 해석 (A Thermodynamic Analysis on the Performance with turning Diesel Cycle into Diesel-Atkinson Cycle)

  • In order to recognize thermal efficiency and power improvement in case that diesel cycle is turned into diesel-atkinson cycle, the fuel-air diesel-atkinson cycle considered gas exchange process is analyzed non-dimensionally and thermodynamically. As a result, in case of diesel-atkinson cycle, as expansion ratio is increased, thermal efficiency and mean effective pressure is increased and it has maximum value at Rec=1. When diesel cycle is turned into diesel-atkinson cycle by late intake valve closing timing, thermal efficiency and power is decreased because of the decline of effective compression ratio and intake airflow, but it could be compensated by increase of compression ratio or super-charged. In case compression ratio is compensated, Rec appears 1 around 100$^{\circ}$ ABDC, and it is expected that thermal efficiency is enhanced by 14.3% compared with conventional diesel cycle. In case compression ratio and intake airflow are compensated simultaneously, super-charged pressure is demanded 2.06bar at Rec=1 and it is more efficient when only compression ratio is compensated in the view point of thermal efficiency.

저속 디젤기관에서 고팽창의 밀러방식에 의한 사이클 해석 및 흡기밸브제어에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Cycle Analyzing and Intake Valve Control by the Miller Method with a High Expansion into Low-Speed Diesel Engine)

  • 최근, 디젤기관의 고효율달성을 위한 방법으로 밀러방식의 고팽창사이클에 대한 연구가 관심이 높다. 본 연구에서는 고팽창 디젤사이클을 구성하여 열역학적으로 해석하고, 몇몇 인자에 의한 사이클 특성을 분석하였다. 이론해석 결과 흡기밸브 닫힘시기가 지각될수록 유효압축비의 감소로 상대적인 팽창비의 효과는 커져 팽창-압축비의 비는 기대할 수 있었으나, 압축압력 및 흡입공기의 역류로 인해 평균유효 압력과 출력의 감고를 수반하였다. 따라서 이에 대한 대책이 있어야 진정한 의미의 고팽창 디젤사이클이 실현되고 열효율향상 가능성이 있음이 확인되었다. 위와 같은 사이클을 실제기관으로부터 구현하기 위해 흡기밸브 닫힘시기를 늦게 하는 제어시스템을 구축하고, 시험을 위해서 S/B가 약 3인 저속 단기통 디젤기관에 가변밸브타이밍(VVT)시스템을 적용하여 성능을 평가하였다. 그 결과 시험기관의 밸브제어에는 큰 문제없는 것으로 평가되었다.

디젤기관에 대한 앳킨슨사이클 구성과 사이클의 열역학적 해석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Composition of Atkinson Cycle and Thermodynamically Analysis for a Diesel Engine)

  • The present study composed a diesel-atkinson cycle of high expansion as a method of achieving high efficiency in diesel cycle engines. It also interpreted the cycle engine thermodynamically analysis to determine the possibility of the improvement of thermal efficiency and clarified the characteristics of several factors . According to the result of theoretical analysis, heat efficiency was highest when expansion-compression ratio Reど:1. In addition. diesel engines with high apparent compression ratio had higher expansion-compression ratio than otto engines and consequently their effect of high expansion was high. which in turn enhanced thermal efficiency. When the atkinson cycle was implemented in a real diesel engine by applying the miller cycle through the variation of the closing time of the intake valve, the effective compression ratio and the quantify of intake air decreased and as a result, the effect of high expansion was not observed. Accordingly. the atkinson cycle can be implemented when the quantity of intake air is compensated by supercharge and the effective compression ratio is maintained at its initial level through the reduction of the clearance volume. In this case. heat efficiency increased by $4.1\%$ at the same expansion-compression ratio when the apparent compression ratio was 20 and the fuel cut off ratio was 2. As explained above, when the atkinson cycle was used for diesel cycle. heat efficiency was improved. In order to realize high expansion through retarding the intake value closing time, the engine needs to be equipped with variable valve timing equipment, variable compression ratio equipment and supercharged Pressure equipment. Then a diesel-atkinson cycle engine is realized.

지역난방 증기 터빈 내 조속기 밸브 Inlet pipe 파손 원인 분석 (Failure Analysis of an Inlet Pipe of a Governor Valve in a Steam Turbine of a District Heating System)

  • The objective of this study was to perform failure analysis of an inlet pipe located in a governor valve of a steam turbine in a district heating system. During the operation, the temperature of the governor valve was increased to as high as ~500 ℃, which induced thermal expansion of the inlet pipe along both axial and radial directions. While the inlet pipe did not have contact with the valve seat, the side plane of the upside was constrained by the casing part, which led the inlet pipe to experience stress field in the form of fatigue and creep. The primary crack was initiated at about 30 mm below the top where the complex stress field was anticipated. These results suggest that the main failure mechanism is a combination of thermal fatigue and creep during the operation supported by the observation of apparent beach marks on the fracture surface and pores near the cracks, respectively.

산업용 냉각기의 열부하 변화에 대응한 정밀온도제어 특성 (Characteristics of Precise Temperature Control of Industrial Cooler on Thermal Load)

  • Recently, technical trend for machine tools is focused on enhancement of speed and accuracy. High speedy processing causes thermal and structural deformation of objects from the machine tools. Water cooler has to be applied to machine tools to reduce the thermal negative influence with accurate temperature controlling system. Existing On-Off control type can't control temperature accurately because compressor is operated and stopped repeatedly and causes increment of power consumption and decrement of the expected life of compressor. The goal of this study is to minimize temperature error in steady state. In addition, control period of an electronic expansion valve were considered to increment of lifetime of the machine tools and quality of product with a water cooler. PI controller is designed using type of hot-gas bypass for precise control of temperature. Gain of PI is decided easily by method of critical oscillation response, excellent performance of control is shown with 4.24% overshoot and ${\pm}0.2^{\circ}C$error of steady state. Also, error range of temperature is controlled within $0.2^{\circ}C$although disturbance occurs.

쇼케이스의 현장 데이터 측정 및 분석 (Measurement and Analysis of Showcase Field Data)

  • Experimental study was performed to understand the operation of an on-site showcase working in a super discount store. Inlet and outlet temperatures of evaporator, condenser, expansion valve and compressor were measured for both air and refrigerant sides. Electric power consumption of compressors, defrosting heaters, cooling water pumps and etc. were measured. The operating characteristics of the showcase system under various working conditions were analyzed and discussed. During the defrosting process, the air temperature inside the showcase increased to $15^{\circ}C$, which gave harmful effect to the frozen food. The collected data will serve as valuable information for diagnosing and improving the performance of showcases.

항공기 외장형 정찰 장비용 냉각 시스템의 성능 특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Performance Characteristics of Cooling System for Aircraft External Reconnaissance Stores)

  • In this paper, we have proposed a vapor cycle refrigeration system as a cooling system to provide cooling air to the aircraft external reconnaissance stores. In the proposed vapor cycle system, receiver which prevents refrigerant from subcooling was eliminated and thermal expansion valve was replaced with electronic expansion valve. The vapor cycle refrigeration system is aimed to provide cooling air to the reconnaissance stores which is added to the aircraft in the form of external store. The wide temperature range of ambient air from the flight conditions can decrease the cooling performance and can make the refrigeration system unstable in low ambient temperature. Performance characteristics of the vapor cycle refrigeration system has been experimented under air conditions which is derived from the flight envelope. From the experiments, the vapor cycle refrigeration system has been proved to provide enough cooling air to the reconnaissance equipment and to be stable under all the flight conditions.

밸브 간극에 따른 밸브트레인 거동 연구 (Study of Valve Train Motion According to Valve Clearance)

  • 기계적 태핏은 유압 태핏과 비교하여 원가와 마찰 손실을 줄일 수 있어 사용된다. 그러나 기계적 태핏은 캠과 밸브 사이의 간극을 조절하는 기능이 없으므로 밸브의 열팽창을 고려하여 캠과 밸브 사이의 거리를 측정하여 선정된다. 그러므로 충분한 워밍 업 후에는 밸브 간극이 거의 없지만 그 전에는 밸브 간극이 존재한다. 특히 냉간 작동 조건에서는 비교적 큰 편이고 소음과 진동 같은 문제를 발생시킬 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 밸브 간극을 변경시켜 가며 각각의 조건에서의 밸브 리프트, 속도, 가속도, 시팅 속도, 바운싱 높이 등에 대하여 시험과 해석을 통하여 연구되었다. 밸브 간극이 증가할수록 램프 구간이 감소하게 되어 밸브의 거동에 좋지 않은 영향을 미치는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

고온 환경에서의 압전작동기를 이용한 1단 밸브의 성능 평가 (Performance Evaluation of a Piezostack Single-stage Valve at High Temperatures)

  • In this work, a piezostack single-stage valve (PSSV) system is proposed and its control performance is experimentally evaluated at high temperature up to $150^{\circ}C$. In order to achieve this goal, a PSSV system is designed and operating principle and mechanical dimensions are discussed. A displacement amplifier and an adjust bolt are used to generate target displacement and to compensate thermal expansion. Then, an experimental apparatus is constructed to evaluate control performance of the PSSV system. The experimental apparatus consists of a heat chamber, a hydraulic circuit, a pneumatic circuit, pneumatic-hydraulic cylinders, thermal insulator, electronic devices, sensors, data acquisition (DAQ) board and a voltage amplifier. The flow rate and displacement control performance of the valve system are evaluated via experiment. The experimental results are evaluated and discussed at different temperatures and frequencies showing the controlled flow rate and spool displacement.
