  • PURPOSE: Despite the widespread occurrence in the general population, few studies have directly evaluated the effects of shingles on non-specific neck pain (NSNP). This study investigated whether sensory training or therapeutic stretching exercises are more effective in increasing neck mobility and reducing neck pain in chronic NSNP patients. METHODS: Eighty-one subjects aged between 20 and 32 years with chronic neck pain (> six months), were allocated randomly to three groups: sensorimotor training group (STG), therapeutic stretching group (TSG), and home exercise group (HEG). All participants received a half-hour training session, three times weekly for six weeks. The outcomes were evaluated using the neck disability index for measuring neck pain, and a universal goniometer to measure the cervical passive range of motion before and after the six-week intervention. RESULTS: The post-test neck disability index scores in the STG (t = 4.86) and TSG (t = 3.24) were decreased significantly (p < .05). The passive range of motion changes in all cervical movements in the STG was increased significantly (p < .05) after intervention compared to those in the other two groups. CONCLUSION: Sensorimotor training using chin tuck exercises may improve neck pain and mobility in subjects with chronic NSNP.

  • Purpose : This study aims to present a rehabilitation exercise and physical education program (REPEP) for local community stroke patients by examining an exercise program provided from traditional physical therapeutic perspectives. Methods : The subjects were 40 stroke patients residing in a local community and managed by a public health center (the group-exercise group: 20, the individual-exercise group: 20). In the case of the group-exercise group (GEG), the subjects were divided into small groups composed of five members each to participate in the program. The individual-exercise group (IEG) took part in the program individually. The subjects received a REPEP that included a warm-up exercise, an elastic band exercise, a leg exercise, a balance and gait exercise, an arm and trunk exercise, and a cool-down exercise twice per week for 20 weeks. They had their gait function, balance index, and muscle strength in the bilateral knee joints tested before and after the experiment. Results : Compared to before the experiment, both groups' gait function, balance index, and muscle strength in the knee joints increased after the experiment. After the experiment, the GEG experienced more improvement in their gait function, balance index, and muscle strength in the bilateral knee joints, excluding their gait velocity and $300^{\circ}/sec$ flexion and extension, than the IEG (p<.05). Conclusion : An exercise program provided from the traditional physical therapeutic perspectives may be applied to stroke patients as their REPEP. In addition, a REPEP was more effective in improving their gait function, balance index, and muscle strength in the knee joints when the subjects formed a group and took part in the program than when they partook in it individually.

The knee joint is important means of human body movement and to do an important duty when it encounters ACL injuries of the knee joint and the many restriction follows in the life which is ordinary. When it is damaged ACL, it comes to determinate that ACL reconstruction and preservation treatment that the according to condition of ligament and knee joint. After ACL reconstruction, that is the fact which already becomes known the exercise treatment advances a recovery and to reduce a sequela. Methods : we researched the method of exercise treatment after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction operation by journal of science direct and KISS in daecu university. Results : The representative exercise treatment is isometric exercise, isokinetic exercise isotonic exercise and complex exercise but what kind of exercise treatment most is effective, it revealed and support it was not. The method of exercise treatment is very various, so It causes a confusion made to the therapist and patients. So it executes once again it sought the kinetic therapeutic method which is efficient from this research and it tried to observe preceding research after ACL reconstruction. To operation a various the exercise treatments, operation only the treatment which is general compared to it was effective in muscular power and muscle functional improvement. But this like improve despite with the exercise treatment consequence which is continuous from research of most the pain leg compares to the health leg, it appeared the discrepancy which is a muscular power, a muscular endurance and a hypertrophy muscle etc, to the health leg or before operating 100% of muscular power to having gets the many therapy time was the recovery rate. Conclusion : Therefore after ACL reconstruction, it will become the many research continuously which is improve the muscle functional and ROM of the exercise treatment method and From therapeutic site of the patients it does to memorizes knowledge in advance about ACL injuries and the application the isokinetic treatment or exercise program are the set of necessary, frequency and amusement that considers complex what kind of therapeutic exercise becomes accomplished with the patient take care of attention.

  • A Study on Scoliosis Milwaukee Brace , Therapeutic Exercise -Oh, Kuyung- Hwan Scoliosis implies an appreciable lateral deviation in the spine. There are numerous theories of the etiology of scolisosis. but the true causative factors remain unknown ;thus this affliction currently cannot be prevented. Treatment essentially consists of early recognition, correction of existing curves, and prevention of the further progression of the curves . Tremendous strides are being made in the treatment of severe scoliosis but the desire for early nonoperative treatment is of paramount important. Many conservative nonoperative procedures have been advocated. Among th-em .Milwaukee brace and therapeutic exercise are the most effective ones .

  • Objective: To investigate the physical appearance and therapeutic changes that occur with the performance of Schroth exercise in patients with scoliosis. Design: Randomized controlled trial. Methods: Fifteen subjects with maximum curvature of the lumbar who were diagnosed with idiopathic scoliosis had volunteered to participate in the study. Eight subjects were included in the experimental group where they performed the Schroth Therapeutic Exercise and the other seven were included in the control group. The experimental group underwent 2 hours of weekly treatment for 12 weeks, while the control group did not during the same period based on the decisions of patients or guardians. The Mann-Whitney rank test was carried out to compare the treatment results of the two groups, and the comparison within the group was done by Wilcoxon signed-rank test. The vertebral rotation angle (VRA) was by Scoliometer, and difference of rotated and curved portion volume (DV) between both sides on the major curvature portion measured by 3D human body scanning system. Results: In the experimental group, 12 weeks of Schroth exercise therapy has significant improved in correction rate (CR) in Cobb's angle (CA), VRA, and DV between both sides on the major curvature portion (p<0.05), while significant differences were not found between the groups regarding weight bearing difference in both feet (WD) and DV (p<0.05). Conclusions: Schroth exercise performance showed significant changes in the patient's therapeutic changes (CA, VRA), but the physical appearance (DV, WD) was not significant, indicating that external changes in the treatment goal setting are more difficult goals to achieve.
