In order to survey archaeological sites, drilling and excavation are carried out at the final stage. However, at the preliminary stage, non-excavation geophysical prospection is used for assessing underground archaeological ruins. Among the geophysical prospecting techniques, Ground Penetration Radar (GPR) prospection has effectively been applied to historical sites due to its high resolution at shallow depths. In this study, the GPR prospection was conducted to find underground ruins near Suseong-Dang, the place of ancient rituals in Buan area, Korea. First, the GPR prospection was conducted at three sites (Site-1, 2, and 3), and subsequently, the GPR prospection was carried out at Site-3 in more detail. As a result of the prospection, the underground layered structure of the survey area consists of three layers, which are soil layer, weathered rock, and sound rock from the surface. And the GPR anomaly to the archaeological structure was clearly identified at around 100-cm depth showing est-west direction that is parallel to the long-axis array. This GPR anomaly of irregular geomorphological features and intermittent distribution may be related to the ritual remains found in Suseong Dang. The GPR prospection could be effectively used to detect archaeological sites or remains buried in the ground.
The wooden pagoda sites which have been confirmed in Baekjae's former territory so far have flattened surface of the earth or foundation pert made by digging up the earth. In particular, the latter is found more often in the pagoda sites of Baekjae, which is essential and absolutely necessary because of the characteristics of pagoda structure. The wooden pagoda sites with foundation part made by digging up the earth under the stylobate are found at Yongjeongli ruined temple site of Woongjin area, and at Neung-sa temple site, Wangheung-sa temple site, Geumgang-sa temple site, and Mireuk-sa temple site of Sabi period. They are also observed at Hwanglyong-sa nine-storied wooden pagoda of Shilla and at Biin five-storied stone pagoda of early Goryeo. They are important data improving that the construction technologies of Baekjae continued to be applied to build stone or wooden pagodas, transcending time and space. Recently, the site assumed as a wood pagoda site of Hanseong area was examined in Gyeongdang sect ion of Pungnap mud fortification. If this is proved to be a real wooden pagoda site, this digging-up construction technology of foundation part ann be concluded to be a traditional engineering technology of Baekjae which was frequently used from Hanseong period to Sabi period. On the other hand, this digging-up construction technology of foundation part has been found only at pagoda sites and main building sites of temple ruins, and it helps examine their symbolism.

The purpose of this study was to present specific standards for landscape planning and construction applicable to landscaping areas in various historical sites. The results are as follows: First, the types of historical sites are classified according to their preservation status and processing techniques, and the classification according to their status is divided into those that have been buried underground, such as those that have been exposed to the ground, such as buildings and structures, and those that have a reputation or a record of the sites. The classification according to the wartime processing technique was classified by such techniques as closures that isolate the site, penetration that can be seen on the site, and overlays where a separate protection facility is installed on the site. Second, the principles of landscape planning for display of historical sites are divided into the items that make up the historical site, surface treatment of the sites, tree planting, and installation of facilities. If the site is not a circular space, the area separating the space by different materials between the components is required. In the event that preservation of the historical site is required, it is deemed desirable to use the soil, and to do so, the use of grasses and shrubs is effectively considered to be effective. The introduction of plants and plants should be considered according to the nature of the space. Depending on the area and nature of the monument, the facility is required to take a cautious approach by reviewing its influence on the landscape and the additional excavation of the monument. Third, the readjustment method derived as a result of looking at the landscaping principle in the historical site space was classified as conservation of status, installation of protection facilities, burial, restoration, relocation, and reproduction. Preservation of the status quo is essential for limited landscape planning and should not affect the prototype of existing relics. The protection facility shall be installed where necessary to protect the relics, and when the soil is formed, the surface treatment shall be required to remove trees that could damage the site and prevent soil and soil oil from being lost after the site. The restoration shall establish a landscaping plan according to the circular preservation based on the clues to the circle. The transfer requires a landscaping plan to create an environment similar to the outer space of an existing site and should be able to highlight the value or location of the original site. The reenactment should have a landscaping plan to revive the landscape and atmosphere of the past for the now-defunct remains. Fourth, landscaping can simultaneously satisfy the preservation of excavation sites and the increase in exhibition effects. In order to protect the traces of the past and vitalize the site of the ruins today, specific measures are required, the creation of a park for historical sites that preserve the functions and value of the relics, and the formation of a shape of linked contents can be suggested as alternatives.

This study aims to analyze the status of the Gaetaesa Temple Site in Nonsan and the value of national cultural heritage associated with it, to work towards gaining the acceptance criteria to become state-designated cultural property and to propose a plan for comprehensive maintenance, a plan for the promotion of the project and a plan for the management and operation. The Gaetaesa Temple Site in Nonsan has unprecedented advancements, and the condition of the remains are relatively good. It would be necessary to conduct digging/excavation surveys continuously in the future and ensure the dignity of the Gaetaesa Temple Site in Nonsan as a cultural asset. In addition, the Gaetaesa Temple Site has excellent historical and cultural values as treasure-class cultural heritage. Most temples had treasures taken out of them, so it is necessary to designate this site as a state-designated cultural property instead of a municipality-designated cultural heritage site, and to manage it systematically. Accordingly, this study investigated the history and historical facts about the Gaetaesa Temple Site in Nonsan through the analysis of literature, including old documents, old maps, related academic papers and books, and referred to the results of digging/excavation surveys, conducted up to six times since the first excavation survey conducted in 1986, in order to understand the status of the remains, ruins and the building sites excavated at the Gaetaesa Temple Site in Nonsan. In addition, this study analyzed the values of the Gaetaesa Temple Site in Nonsan, dividing them into the remains, relics and ruins, and set up the scope of the Gaetaesa Temple Site in Nonsan, the cultural property area (designated and protected areas) and the acceptance criteria for the construction work in the historical and cultural environment preservation area. This study proposed a plan for the comprehensive maintenance of the Gaetaesa Temple Site in Nonsan, a plan for the promotion of the project and a plan for the management and operation. It is necessary to carry out ongoing excavation investigations and to reflect the opinions of the residents for the purchase of land, to supplement the comprehensive maintenance plan, business promotion and management plans, and step-by-step business plans should be established in detail.
A convergence research was conducted on glass beads excavated at the ruins of Hapgang-ri, Sejong, using the archeology and conservation approach. The period of appearance of Jugu Towangmyo in the ruins of Hapgang-ri can be estimated to begin in the late 2nd century; for Jugu Towangmyo No. 15, the period spans from the late 2nd to early 3rd century. Form, color, and manufacturing techniques of complete glass beads were examined, and the cross-sections and chemical composition of 16 samples were observed. Based on these analyses, the glass beads were divided into blue, purple, and red colors. The blue-colored beads could be further sub-divided based on their gloss and brightness; in contrast, the red-colored beads were highly uniform with regard to these parameters. Based on the stripe and bubble arrangement on the surface of the glass beads, their drawing technique was identified. Traces of heat treatment or polishing were observed at the ends of the beads. According to their chemical composition, the 16 samples were classified into 3 potash glass and 13 soda glass groups; in the latter, the properties of the stabilizers were divided according to the blue and red bead colors. The stabilizers of the red beads are unique in that they allow the distinction among beads excavated in other areas in South Korea owing to their compositional differences. Colorants in blue- and red-colored beads are cobalt (containing MnO), and copper and iron, respectively.
The $Sh{\grave{a}}ngdu$ site in the Yuan Dynasty of China, a capital city located in the northern steppe area characterised by the nomadic life, has received great attentions from a number of travellers, historians and archaeologists. Several famous European travellers described vividly the city structure and civil life of $Sh{\grave{a}}ngdu$ from the Yuan Dynasty onwards. Since the begging of the modern era, a number of foreign expeditionists and historians explored $Sh{\grave{a}}ngdu$ and published research reports. From the 20th century, mainly Chinese and Japanese historians and archaeologists carried out the relatively detailed historical researches and archaeological surveys to the $Sh{\grave{a}}ngdu$ site; and published books, articles and excavation reports. More detailed and scientific archaeological investigations, mappings and excavations have been conducted since 1990s. This paper aims to progress basic discussion to the city structures of the $Sh{\grave{a}}ngdu$ site based on the previously conducted researches by expeditionists, geographers and archaeologists and the full scale investigations, which have been carried out since the late 20th century.

The objective of this study is to find out geomorphological characteristics of historical ruins where people produced and consumed large jar coffins excavated in the Yeongsan river basin using the map of old drainage network to restore distribution network. For this purpose, we chose the 21 consumption sites. The results are as follows. First of all, large jar coffins(relics, 47.6% of total) in the Yeongsan River basin were located in Sampo stream basin, almost all of them were located within the Yeongsan River main stream basin and Sampo stream basin. Also, distance from all consumption site to river was within about 2km. Therefore, it is thought that the all consumption sites are located at the place of the gift of nature that was very favorable to water transport of jar coffins. The results of this study may be used as basic data for research of cultural relics in the Yeongsan river basin.
The research against Youngdong area Bronze Age settlement structure the condition where the investigation against the area and the remains which are limited becomes accomplished and Only the dwelling site will be investigated from the early settlement of most and recognition there is not a possibility which it will investigate synthetically. The Early settlement to the time which reaches the size of the settlement is small and From Bangnae-ri phases the house possession area increases inside the hill and it follows on south and if dwelling site numbers under increasing, from the aspect where the size of the settlement is magnified seems and it is a position. The Middle settlement currently was confirmed as the beginning from the room village A ruins, it investigates a settlement structure to, the increase of data is necessary. Is Pottery with clay stripes, phases the Later Settlement which Dwelling site, Storeage, Earthenware Kiln, Ditch enclosure and Tomb, the Public dwelling site back large scale Pottery with clay stripes settlement of formation will be investigated from Bangdong-ri settlements which correspond to Songhyun-ri settlement which is a hill characteristic settlement which is located in rivers circumference and the higShland characteristic settlement to provide the data the cultural aspect and character and a settlement structure of Bronze Age postscript and it will be able to grasp.
In the midst of recent active excavation, lots of Silla(新羅) roof-end tiles are unearthed in Yeongnam area(嶺南地域). These are confirmed the same tile frame as the Silla tiles excavated in Gyeongju(慶州). It is represented by the Silla tiles excavated in Ingaksa Temple(麟角寺) excavation research. Roof-end tile with arabesque design(唐草文平瓦當) etc. including roof-end tile with lotus design(蓮花文圓瓦當) are judged to be the tile frame produced by the same frame of roof-end tile that was excavated in Gyeongju, Wolseong(月城) and Hwangyongsa Temple(皇龍寺址). There are three kinds of cases concerning the transportation of tile manufacture ; the roof-end tile manufactured in Gyeongju directly moved to each region, only tile frame moved to site to be manufactured there, and tile manufacturer moved to site to manufacture there. This article considers the case of the roof-end tile manufactured in Gyeongju that was directly moved to each region. In case of the Silla tiles excavated in region especially Ingaksa Temple, the aspects of tiles in accordance with different era show the repeated coexistence, expansion and maintenance. This situation is significant as a clue to understand the supply from Gyeongju not as temporary, but as continuous. On the other hand, if the Gyeongju tiles flowed directly into each region, and if the road was built of gravels and the means of transportation was cart, the damage from movement must never be prevented. On the contrary, transportation through waterway might be advantageous due to the reduction of labor and damage rate and the easiness of loading. Accordingly, it tells us why the ruins where roof-end tiles were excavated located near big and small rivers or streams. Of course there are some ruins located in a fixed distance, but the distance may be enough to endure the impact put on tiles from the overland movement. Therefore, in case of direct inflow form long distance, transportation must be finished by overland movement after waterway movement.
This study is related to excavation from ruins the memorial structure within the Jeongreung royal tomb. There are experimental assertion on the basis of results of the excavation, historical records. The location of the memorial structure is identified in picture of Sunwonbogam(선원보감), records of Chunkwantongho(春官通考). The memorial structure have 6 rooms where lay in 250 steps(步) from the south of Hongjeonmun gate, lotus pond lay in southeast of the structure recorded on Chunkwantongho that's guide book to manners. It's matched in the location as result of excavation. The building site consists of main house(윗채), outhouse(아래채) that's stationed in stepped. It seems that main house as the memorial structure have 6 rooms. It's used as outhouse for facilities attached to the main. It's characterized the memorial structure within the Jeongreung royal tomb that's stationed main house, outhouse in stepped it using natural ground. It's estimated that it's tried to conservation for building site, fence etc. in next several time. With regard to constructing time of the structure, traces involved to first construction is simple: 2 chimneys in flower bed, fence, a part of stone elevation, drains by using rectangular stone. It shows that the building site had been reconstructed or renovated during Gho-jong King 37s year of the Choson dynasty(A.D.1900). It seems that the memorial structure during approximately 300 years in existence from Hyeon-jong King 10s year of the Choson dynasty(A.D.1669) to the late 1960s.
