『레드 북』은 칼 융이 자기 자신에게 행했던 심리학적 실험을 기록한 책이며, 자신의 개성화 과정에 대한 체험을 묘사하고 있다. 『레드 북』은 융이 '깊은 곳의 정신'에 사로잡혀 '이 시대의 정신'을 전복하고 무의식으로 내려가 자신의 심혼을 되찾는 과정, 심혼이 심혼-심령의 쌍으로 분화되는 과정, 그리고 인간정신의 심연으로부터 대극의 형태로 다가오는 신의 이미지를 직면하는 과정을 다루고 있다. '깊은 곳의 정신'은 개성화 과정의 시작을 알리는 집단적 무의식의 발현이었으며, '아직 오지 않은 신'의 도래였다. 융은 그때까지 자신의 삶을 지배했던 집단정신의 한계를 자각하고 집단적 무의식이 인도하는 새로운 삶의 영역으로 들어섰다. 그 여정에서 먼저 잃어버린 자신의 심혼과 조우했고, 살로메-엘리야, 헬레나-시몬, 바우키스-필레몬의 쌍으로 나타난 심혼-심령의 다양한 양상들을 체험했다. 개성화 과정 초기의 심혼 체험은 의식을 어둡게 하고 사로잡는 악마적인 기세로 먼저 다가온다. 『레드 북』의 전반적인 내용은 융이 그 악마적인 기세를 받아들이는 것과 그 기세의 의미를 깨달아가는 과정으로 이루어져 있다. 심혼의 정동적으로 사로잡는 측면에 대한 체험은 신의 어두운 측면인 사탄에 대한 자각으로 이어졌고, 그 체험 과정에서 얻은 일련의 통찰력은 신의 밝은 측면인 그리스도에 대한 자각으로 이어졌다. 이런 분화 과정을 통하여 결국에는 신의 대극성을 직면하였다. 그리고 융은 인간의 정신 안에 나타나는 신의 이미지인 자기(the-Self)의 출현을 언급했다. 그런 체험을 통해 훗날 융은 인간의 무의식으로부터 의식으로 육화하는 정신적 실체로서의 신을 경험 과학적인 측면에서 밝혀냈다. 신성의 육화 과정은 인간의 심리적 갈등과 고통의 원인이기도 하지만, 의식적으로 받아들이면 그것이 바로 인간 삶의 궁극적인 목적이요 의미임을 구명하였다.

This study explored a sandplay therapy case of a woman maturing through conflicts with an adolescent son. The goal of the therapy was to relieve her from conflicts with going through individuation process under a free and protected space in sandplay therapy. Forty-six therapy sessions were held. The client exhibited that she needed a conversation with her feminity and maternity in the initial phase of therapy (1-5, regression). In the intermediate phase of therapy (6-43, struggle), she displayed the scenes of meeting of opposites, shadow, death, nurturing and integration of opposites. In the final phase of therapy (44-46, transformation), she showed the acception of her life with leaving her situations to God. Through sandplay therapy in the free and protected space, this study showed the effectiveness of sandplay therapy since the client achieved individuation by showing the acceptance of her life and could control her enraged feelings.

In this paper, in order to explicate how mathematics education can contribute to humanity education, I enquired in which position mathematics occupy in Froebel's For this, I examined Froebel's theory of humanity education, his theory of mathematics education, and the applicational problem of his thoughts to nowaday education. Froebel's educational theory is based on the concept of the Divine Unity which is relevant to the notion of 'The Absolute' of Fichte, Schelling, Hegel. He claims that from inanimate objects to human being, all is subject to the eternal law, which is presided by God. So the world itself is the representation of this law of the Divine Unity and education consists in leading man to conscious and free representation of it. The revealing process of the inner law of the Divine Unity can be attained through the awareness of the divinity which resides in the self. And this process of self-consciousness is dialectical movement of the two opposites, i.e. 'inner' and 'outer' Froebel suggests that mathematics is the mediator between the inner and outer world, i.e. he suggests that since both human being and nature are the representations of the Divine Unity, mathematics is both the pure human spirits and the law of nature. Having such a role, mathematics becomes the main discipline in education. Though there are some criticism on Froebel's educational thoughts on mathematics discussed in this paper, it can provide a typical answer to the question about how mathematics education contributes to humanity education.

가톨릭교회는 1964년에 제 2차 바티칸 공의회에서 '인류의 빛은 그리스도이다'라고 선포하였다. 2002년에 교황 요한 바오로 2세는 '그리스도의 빛의 신비'를 선포했다. 세기를 달리하여 두 번에 걸쳐 그리스도가 빛임을 강조하며 이 시대에 '빛 그리스도', '태양처럼 빛나는 그리스도'에 시선을 고정시켜 그 신비를 깨달으라고 교황은 촉구했다. 이에 본 연구는 묵주기도에서 '빛의 신비'의 상징성에 대한 분석심리학적 고찰을 통해 '빛 그리스도의 빛의 신비'를 산다는 것의 의미를 살펴보았다. 즉 빛 그리스도를 증언하고 있는 성경을 바탕으로 '빛의 신비'가 전개되는 모습을 나타내는 이미지들의 상징성을 연구한다. 그 이미지들은 세례, 가나의 혼인잔치, 하느님 나라, 거룩한 변모, 최후의 만찬이다. '그리스도의 빛의 신비'를 산다는 것은 '빛의 그리스도-상(像)'을 각자 고유의 자기(Self)로 동화시키는 것으로 즉 대극의 체험을 통하여 의식화되고 개성화된 인격으로서 '세상의 빛', '시대의 빛'으로 존재하는 것에 대한 의미를 숙고한 연구이다.
