  • This study examines adult perceptions of old age planning and the factors that explain the degree of their planning for the future. The data came from 478 adults between the age of 30 and 59 living in Gunpo city. Major findings can be summarized as follows. First, we find that participants are well aware of the need for old age planning, and that the majority of them think aey are responsible for their old age security. Nevertheless they are not preparing for later life very much. Second, they are doing their best planking for their later lives in the area of social activities. The degree of participants' preparation varies depending on their age and socioeconomic factors. Finally, participants who strongly recognize their parents' role are also more likely to plan for the future. These results suggest that the educational programs and systems for pre-instruction about various plans for old age be developed for even younger people.

  • The prevalence of hepatitis A virus (HAV) in a certain community reflects that community's living standard and hygienic condition. The seroprevalence rate of IgG anti-HAV has been changing with regions and times. In this study, we aimed to study the difference of seroprevalence of IgG anti-HAV according to sex, age and type of drinking water, and to know the vaccination rate and seroconversion rate for vaccinated subjects in Busan. A total of 644 samples were analyzed. The overall seroprevalence rate of IgG anti-HAV was 35.4% (228/644). There was no significant difference in sex (male 39.8%, female 32.7) (p>0.05). According to age, seroprevalence rate of anti-HAV were 55.0% in subjects aged 5~9 years old, 47.8% in 10~14 years old, decreced to 10.6% in 15~19 years old, 1.0% in 20~24 years old, 0.0% in 25~29 years old and increced with advacing ages ; 14.7% in 30~34 years old, 39.4% in 35~39 years old, 67.3% in 40~44 years old, 94.1% in 45~49 years old, 100.0% over 50 years (p<0.001). The seroprevalence of IgG anti-HAV was no statistical difference according to the types of drinking water (p>0.05). The vaccinated subject was 42 case only in below 25 years old. The seroconversion rate after vaccination was 88.1%.

  • Nowadays, cities are developing rapidly, and the development of old and new towns are not balanced. The decline of old towns has promoted the development of new towns, leading to serious decline of old towns, population loss, and environmental degradation. This research hopes to alleviate the decline of the old town, try to find a balance between the old and the new towns, and use the development concept of "symbiosis" to develop the old and new towns together. The new and old towns will develop together, so that the old towns will be rejuvenated. Research method is to conduct preliminary research and theoretical investigation on the two parts of "symbiosis" and community space, sort out the space composition and characteristic elements, propose the concept of symbiosis community, and conduct case analysis. Since 2016, China has implemented the 'Symbiosis Institute' renewal project in Beijing. It selected the case of the post-2016 alley community in Dongcheng and Xicheng District, Beijing for analysis, and conducted a questionnaire survey to finally obtain the results of the analysis. According to the choice of spatial composition and characteristics in each case, and at the same time refer to the results of the questionnaire, sort out the results of importance. In the future design, we hope to use the above design strategy as a reference to realize the city's "symbiotic" development.

  • Field classes are necessary to grow the ability of and an attitude toward exploring nature and to shape the basic concept of natural science. I tried to develop a site for field classes and the old road Naori's hill is an ideal place with convenient traffic and established youth camps. As a result the vegetation was divided into five associations and communities. The vegetation units obtained in the present study were as follow: Quercus acutissima community, Pinus densiflora community, Pinus densiflora-Quercus acutissima community, Quercus acutissima-Pinus densiflora community, and Quercus mongolica community. In all survey areas 100 family 336 genus 587 species of palants was found. Furthermore, it provides lots of plants throughout the seasons. Not only the flora but also flowering phenology, variety of floral color and growth habits can be used as teaching items. Incorporation of diverse knowledge of plants at the old road Naori's hill into biology teaching will give students academic stimuli and teachers an opportunity of retraining. With a combination of use of visual instruments, the purpose of conceptual and exploring biology is more easily achieved.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate homebound status and significant related factors for community-dwelling female elders according to age. Methods: The participants were female elders over 65 years of age registered in public health centers. Data were collected by interviewing the elders, who voluntarily completed the entire survey. For data analysis, descriptive statistics and multiple logistic regression were performed using SPSS version 18.0. Results: There were statistically significant differences in homeboundness and related factors between the young-old (65 to 74 years of age) and the old-old (75 years of age or older). The level of homeboundness of the old-old was higher than that of the young-old. Multiple logistic regression showed, timed "up and go", depression, and fear of falling as significantly associated with homebound status of the young-old, while hand grip strength (right), timed "up and go", static balance ability, severity of urinary incontinence, and fear of falling as significant for the old-old. Conclusion: The findings of this study indicate that homebound status and related factors for elders are different according to age, and therefore, interventions to prevent and help homebound elders get over being homebound should be developed according to age.

  • In order to elucidate the differences in early successional development among similary aged old-fields having different soil nitrogen (N), caused by the land use history before at abandonment, the response of plant community along an experimental nitrogen gradient (control plot (No), plot NI with 5.8g $N/m^2$, plot N2 with 11.7g $N/m^2$ and plot N3 with 23.3g $N/m^2$) was investigated in a five-year-old abandoned field. Although the N content in soil among treatments was similar at the end of the growing season, N concentrations in plant tissue increased with the amount of N supplied. These results suggest that almost all the N contained in N-enriched soil might be absorbed by plants during the growing season after N supply. Vegetation tended to grow vigorously by nitrogen supply, and the standing biomass increased significantly in plots NI and N2 . Species richness of plants, especially of annuals and perennials, was more reduced than the control plot, and the species diversity was also reduced by N supply. The importance value (IV) of species by N supply differed in each species along the position on the successional sere: Artemisia princeps var. orientalis as the dominant species in this old-field decreased slightly; annuals as the earlier successional species decreased clearly along nitrogen gardients; Erigeron annuals as the earlier successional species and as a strong competitor with Artemisia princeps var. orientalis had the highest IV by small N supply; Miscanthus sinensis and Rubus crataegifolius as the later successional species increased by large N supply. These results suggest that old-fields with high soil N might show the structural and functional characteristics of the earlier successional stages, but community composition in those old-fields might be changed more quickly from the sarlier successional species than the later successional species.

  • This study was carried out to investigate the ecological succession sere and conservative value, and to provide the basic data for the planning of the Provincial Park Management in Seonamsagol(Valley), Jogyesan(Mt.) Provincial Park(altitude 884m), Suncheon City, Korea by analysing the structure of the plant community. Twenty plots(size is $20m{\times}20m$) were set up at an altitude of range from 315m to 480m. As a result of analysis of TWINSPAN which is one of the ordination technique, the plant communities were divided into four groups which are community I(Quercus variabilis community), community II(Q. serrata community), community III(Decideous broad-leaved plant community), and community IV(Carpinus tschonoskii community). The warmth index is $104^{\circ}C{\cdot}month$ based on the data of monthly mean temperature during the past thirty years(1981~2010), so we found out that the vegetation of the study site located in the South Temperate Climate Zone. We supposed that the ecological succession sere of the study site is in the early stage of developing from Q. serrata community to Carpinus tshonoskii community, however we should do a long-term monitoring to investigate the changes of the ecological succession each plant community, meanwhile Sasa borealis was dominant species in the shrub layer. The diameter at breast height of specimen tree is range from 20 to 55cm(average 36cm) and the height of that is range from 14 to 35m(average 23cm). The age of community I was 64 years old, that of community II was from 59 to 64 years old, that of community III was from 51 to 62 years old, and that of community IV was from 41 to 68 years old, thus the age of the study site is about from 38 to 72 years old. According to the index of Shnnon's diversity(unit: $400m^2$), community IV was ranged from 0.8452 to 1.2312, community III was ranged from 0.8044 to 1.1404, community II was ranged from 0.8221 to 0.9971, and community I was 0.8324.
