Changes in social, economical, and cultural environment affect the manner in which mourners greet those expressing condolence to the deceased. While the funeral process was done at home in the past, nowadays, most families prefer a funeral home. Funeral homes provide all necessary services for the funeral process, including food for visitors and rituals. This research was conducted using a questionnaire in the Kyonggido area. Overall food satisfaction level of visitors was moderate; satisfaction with cleanness was the highest, followed by taste, quality, freshness, and diversity. Satisfaction level of foodservice by the type of funeral homes showed home funeral was highest, followed by general funeral home, hospital funeral home. Regarding the acceptance of food items served at the funeral home, Yukgaejang was the most preferred, followed by Gaorichomuchim, Pyeonyuk, Kodarichim, and Injeolmi. There were differences in food acceptance according to age and gender of visitors. Male prefers Samgyeopsal-suyuk to Pyeonyuk. but female prefer Pyeonyuk to Samgyeopsal-suyuk. Elder individuals preferred Kodarichim, Gaoricho-muchim. Younger individuals preferred Jeon, Ojingeodorajimuchim, and Samgyeopsal-suyuk.

The purpose of this study was conducted with senior women of ages 65 in Community Center to identify effective exercise methods for preventing falling accidents by enhancing balancing skills through aerobic and foam roller exercise programs. There were 24 subjects : 11 aerobics group and 13 foam roller group. 30 minute exercise programs were conducted against both groups 12 times 6 weeks. Various tests, including Time up and go test, Forward reach test, One-leg standing with eyes open/closed and Y-Balance were conducted prior to commencing the exercise program. Wilcoxon's Signed-ranks test was executed to analyze the changes in balance of the aerobic and foam roller exercise group prior to and after the experiment, and Mann-Whitney test was executed to compare the difference between the two groups. The Y-Balance(post. medial) show statistically significant differences in the amount of change before and after exercise between the two groups, except for Timed up and go test, Forward reach test, Y-Balance(ant.), and Y-Balance(post. lateral), which did not showed statistically significant difference (p<0.05). Foam roller exercises are effective methods to enhance the balancing skills in senior women to prevent falling accidents.

Progressive muscular dystrophy (PMD) is a primary muscle disease characterized by progressive muscle weakness and wasting, which is inherited by an X-linked recessive pattern and occurs mainly in males. There are several types of muscular dystrophies classified according to the distribution of predominant muscle weakness including Duchenne and Becker, Emery-Dreifuss, facioscapulohumeral, oculopharyngeal, and limb-girdle type. Clinical manifestations of PMD are clumsy, unsteady gait, pneumonia, heart failure, pulmonary edema, hydropericardium, hydrothorax, aspiration, syncopal attacks, and sudden cardiac death. The deceased was a 34-year-old man, and the onset of the first clinical symptom, gait disturbance, was in his late teens. His elder brother had the same disease and experienced brain death after a head trauma and died after mechanical ventilation was discontinued. After an autopsy, we found contracture of the joints, pseudohypertrophy of the calf, wasting and fat replacement of the thigh muscle, pericardial effusion (80 mL), fibrosis and fat replacement of the cardiac ventricular wall, pulmonary edema, and froth in the bronchus. The cause of death was heart failure and dyspnea due to muscular dystrophy. There was no sign or suspicion of foul play in his death.

The purpose of this study is to examine the moderating effect of family relationship (relationship with spouse and adult children)about the impact of economical status and health(physical health, cognitive health) on depression. The data came from Korean Longitudinal Study of Ageing(KLoSA) 2005 of Korea labor institute. 2,566 individuals(male 1,535, female 1,031) with spouse and aged 65 and over were selected for this study. Using the multiple regression model, we found that significant effect of economical status, physical health and cognitive health on depression. Also relationship with spouse moderated the effect of economical status on depression and relationship with adult children moderated the effect of cognitive health on depression. The results of this study suggest that family relationship is important variable to reduce depression of the elderly.

This paper attempts to look at how the question of cultural identity can be discussed in terms of which "a family of the minds" as a unit can be given meaningful form of interpretation. I found its real possibility in the James family, especially in Henry James Senior, William James, and Henry James Junior since they represent important cultural context reflecting their European relationship in terms of American cultural consciousness. This research is divided in two parts; the first part of this study consisted of the elder James's role as a source of moral aesthetic consciousness for the two children, the second part consisted of showing different aspects of inter-relationships between father and sons and between brothers in the process of identity construction. I examine different aspects of the identity formation process of William James and Henry James Junior by arguing different ways of making relationship with their father's philosophy to illuminate how they reflect and represent American cultural consciousness, and to define the meaning of the Jamesian mind in American cultural history.

It is generally known that children's development of 'gender schema' and 'gender role stereotype' has a positive relationship with the notion of 'gender role preference'. This study analyzed an unusual case focusing on the role playing of two brothers'. The elder brother, Hyoung-Gyoo, always preferred to take the female role, and he had a preference for feminine names like "Cordelia" whilst engaging in role playing situations. The brothers can be said to have crossed the border into the realm of intersexual role playing. The results revealed Hyoung-Gyoo's clear discrepancy between gender-related perceptions and reality, and showed his younger sibling Je-Gyoo's high level of acceptance towards his brother's extraordinary gender role preference. The results of this study can serve as a useful reference point for detailing unusual development from early childhood regarding 'opposite-gender-role seeking' characteristics.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analysis factors influencing the perception of elder in nursing students. Method: The subjects were 340 nursing students, from Y university college. Data were analyzed with SPSS/Win 17.0 program. Results: Images, knowledge, and stereotypes plus perception about elderly showed significant positive correlation. According to the result of multiple regression, religion, interest in the elderly issue, knowledge were significant factor of senior perception explaining 55% of the variances. Conclusion: To improve positive perception of the elderly, it is necessary to efficient management about nursing curriculum and continuous study about that result.

This study performed in order to investigate the effect of isometric resistance exercise for vastus medialis oblique muscle with EMG(electromyography) biofeedback training which are applied to the patello-femoral joint of patients with osteoarthritis on the improve of function. The subjects had no neuromuscular disorders, and they were elder patients with osteoarthritis, 20 women. And the experiment was performed in control group, taping with EMG biofeedback training group respectively, and the measurement was carried out before and after the treatment and 4 weeks after the treatment. Motor unit action potential analysis with surface electromyography showed a significant change in RMS(root mean square) amplitude and MDF(median frequency) in vastus medialis oblique muscle(p<0.05). VMO/VL(vastus medialis oblique/vastus lateralis oblique) MDF ratio showed a significant change between groups(p<0.05). Taping with EMG biofeedback training applied to patello-femoral joint of osteoarthritis patients appeared to be effective for muscle function improvement. However, increase of muscular force in vastus medialis oblique muscle appears to have a positive effect on improve of function along with correction effect on patella malalignment. In conclusion, in case of osteoarthritis patients with loss of patello-femoral joint function, it appears to be effective to practice isometric resistance exercise of vastus medialis oblique muscle selective with taping.

Wearable ECG monitoring is regarded as one of the most essential part in the ubiquitous healthcare environment and subsequently day-life monitoring of a heart condition has been pursued especially for the elder people. However, there are many problems to accomplish this task such as; i) implementation of long-term monitoring device, ii) development of non-irritating electrode on skin and iii) stable signal acquisition. With these aims, we have focused on implementing a non-irritating electrode with an endurable monitoring device for day-life. To accomplish our tasks, we basically developed four different types of textile electrodes that are adapted by both shape and the composed material; flat or convex shape and Ag-conductive paste material or not. It turns out to be that a convex shape and Ag-paste textile electrode has the best performance in terms of both signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and Impedance/Phase characteristics. Furthermore, ECG amplifier (35 ${\times}$ 35 mm) has developed to resolve the ECG signal and transfer the signal to desktop computing device or portable one by RF serial communication.
