The study is to identify the status of the ward of public hospital for integrated nursing care service. Integrated nursing service has expanded nationwide from 2016 but 10 out of 34 public hospitals are currently unable to operate as nurses due to the shortage. Analyze each floor plan and space program of ward and provide the basic data for the construction of the architecture plans for Integrated nursing care service. For this study, selecting 14 wards of public hospital in Korea and then analyzes space organization, distance from NS to bedroom and NS to core(Elevator) and spatial hierarchy of them. Among the 14 public hospitals, there are 7 types of double-loaded corridor, 4 types of double corridor and 3 types of single corridor. If NS is placed centrally, the control of the outsider and the patient's control would be efficient, but most of NS are lean on one side of floor. the placement of NS should be independent of individual arrangements, but it should be smooth alignment with patient spaces, staff spaces, and public spaces. This study could serve as basic research for the architectural plan for future integrated nursing care in ward of public hospital.

Purpose: Many researches have clearly begun to address the relationship between people and their physical environments. These represent that children experience traditional hospital environments as unpleasant and scary. More specifically, children in hospitals face many psychological and emotional challenges: isolation, painful procedures, separation from family members, all in unfamiliar settings. For this reason, some have argued that the children's experiences within hospital environments can lead to poorer health outcomes. This study has been started in order to provide basic informations for the planning of Healing rest space in pediatric ward. Methods: Literature reviewes and field surveys to rest space at pediatric ward in Korea and foreign country have been conducted for the data collection. Results: The result of this study can be summarized into eight environment factor for healing rest space in pediatric ward: family, noise, safe, choice opportunity, light, privacy, social support and distract from disease or death. Implications: In the rest space in pediatric ward, it is necessary to consider healing rest space for promoting healing from disease and normal developing of children.

Wards are the biggest part in hospital buildings and the flow of medical personnels and materials is an important factor in the ward design. The evaluation method of the wards and is esscential for the optimum design considering function, environment, patient psychology, etc. To achieve this goal, factors for evaluation of wards were introduced and then each factor was systematically analyzed. A evaluation method are developed from studied factors and are applied to existing wards to check the reliability. The selected evaluation factors are limited to the privacy of patient, the functional efficiency of operation, and the economy of wards.

The purpose of this study is a presentation of long term strategies for hereafter hospital's remodeling and new constructions with grabbing in the characters of various spaces and ways of remodeling on wards which have been remodeled according to periods(the opening, before remodeling, after remodeling, new construction). The targets are three remodeled hospitals and four resent hospitals. And also the hospitals are divided as beds, additional hospital facilities, day room, doctor's and staff dining room, public space(corridor, core, duct) etc. The analEis of this study explains changes of wards through the characters expressed by remodeling on the specific functions (beds, additional hospital facilities, day room, doctor's and staff dining room, public space etc.) Following the research, the study has kept going to understanding of problems and limitations of improvement on remodeling wards. Finally, this researcher looked for suggestions on the planning of wards.

In Korea, it is urgently required to develop the health care facilities and services for People with dementia. The progression of dementia is associated with a gradual decline in functional, cognitive, emotional, and social abilities. Therefore, architectural design for People elderly with dementia should be focused to maintain and preserve this abilities. This study aims to derive the design guidelines of the ward and patient roon unit planning to maintain this abilities in the health care facilities for People with dementia. For this, investigation and analysis through the case studies of domestic and foreign facilities and P.O.E of domestic facilities were performed.

The purpose of this study is to suggest various index concerning the nursing services and traffic efficiency between two types of nursing care system - Team Nursing Method and Functional Nursing Method. Through the investigations on activities of 5 day-duty nurses of ward in each general hospital occupying one method of them. So, it can be suggested that the basic data for the archtectural planning of wards in general hospitals must be considered to accept the hospital environmental requests.

Mental hospital has been expanding its function to psychiatric treatment in the meaning of therapy. Therefore systematic research on thr mental hospital is urgent. The purpose of this study is to provide a basic data for architectural planning on the wards and special quality of physical remedy spaces of geriatrics hospital. This research, to analyse dependency degree of inpatients in geriatric hospital, shows relativeness between remedy space and wards, and to show behavior of each patients reaction to there space. Result of interviewed inpatients who were sorted by age, sex, dependency degree, and days in hospital, suitable space programming is to need for physical and mental state. On the bases of survey and analysis, the basic data for planning and design the hospital for the elderly with dementia has been proposed.

The effects and necessity of the breast milk are well known, but the breast-feeding rate in our country is very low. One of the reason is due to the separation policy of mother and baby after delivery. The mother is in the inpatient-room and the baby is in the new-born baby room. This isolation operation of hospital get increased according to the decreasing ratio of breast feeding in Korea. Only a few hospital operates and provides the space for a new-born baby in the mother's room. The system of baby and mother in one room is adopted and operated due to the breast feeding campaign. It is very encouraging, but the space for the baby and the mother is not enough in multi-bed rooms. We should reconsider the relationship between the new-born baby unit and the obstetric ward, and design the patient's room for the baby and the mother.

The progression of curing of dementia is associated with a gradual decline in functional, cognitive, emotional and social abilities. Patients with dementia currently cause many social problems, which will become more serious in the near future. It is considered that patients with dementia are so much influenced by the quality of physical ward environment ; so we need to improve environment of dementia ward dept. Factors of physical environment which effect patients with dement1a can be classifided both into 'Interier design' ; material, color, lighting, equipment and auxiliary design and into 'Sense of sight & hearing' ; illumination, ornament & indication, noise, and fancy.
