And the score of phonological awareness ability according to phonological units and task types were significantly lower than TD. But both DS and TD performed better on phonological deletion and blending task than discrimination. TD and DS represented different correlation between task types and phonological units. • This study defined awareness of professionalism and job stress in 353 child-care teachers of children with special needs and analyzed the relative contribution of professional awareness to job stress. Teachers showed high awareness of 'ethics' and 'enthusiasm enhancing professionalism', and this awareness correlated highly with professionalism in the 'specialized knowledge and skills' sub-factors. Teachers showed high levels of stress in the 'general duty' and the 'guidance of children with special needs' categories, and this correlated highly with stress caused by 'child-care center management.' The results of canonical correlation analysis indicated that of professionalism sub-factors only the awareness of 'social services' contributed positively to job stress.

  • Background: The incidence of breast cancer is rising in Oman, and the disease is diagnosed at late stages, when treatment success is limited. Omani women might benefit from better awareness, so that breast cancer can be detected early and treated. This study was conducted to assess Omani women's levels of breast cancer awareness and early detection practice, and explore factors which might influence these levels. Materials and Methods: A mixed methods study was conducted in 2014, including a quantitative survey of 1,372 and a qualitative assessment of 19 Omani women, aged ${\geq}20years$ from five Omani governorates using convenient sampling. Demographic information and scores for awareness levels were used in a multivariate regression model to investigate factors associated with awareness. Thematic analysis and interpretive description were used to analyse the qualitative data. Results: The overall means for early detection and general awareness scores were 0.58 (SD 0.24) and 0.46 (SD 0.21), respectively. General awareness was significantly associated with age, education, income and familiarity with cancer patients (p<0.05), while early detection was significantly associated with age, marital status and education. A majority of women (59.5%) agreed with a belief in 'evil eye' or envy as a risk factor for breast cancer. Women discussed various factors which may empower or inhibit awareness, including the cultural-religion-fatalistic system, personal-familial-environmental system, and healthcare-political-social system. Conclusions: The overall low scores for awareness and early detection, and the survey of local beliefs highlight a severe necessity for a contextually-tailored breast cancer awareness intervention programme in Oman.

  • The study attempts to assess the level of environmental sustainability awareness in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In the process, the study tries to assess the impact of extracurricular activities in increasing awareness of environmental sustainability. A survey questionnaire was administered to the students of Prince Sattam University and other universities of Saudi Arabia. The questionnaire comprises statements on simple environmental conservation activities, which we come across on a daily basis. Hypothesis testing is used to identify significant differences across different categories of respondents. Further, the method of binary logistic regression is used to analyze the data. Though all the respondents agree that conserving the environment is important still there are significant differences across categories when it comes to believing in and practicing environmentally-responsible behavior. The results show that environmental awareness can be increased using awareness activities on sustainability issues in a University setting. The study concludes that increasing the number of extracurricular activities on environmental topics as only 38% of the respondents reported any activity related to the environment in the past year. The findings of this study suggest that increased awareness of environmental issues can boost the sustainability awareness, which will ultimately lead to a sustainable environment.

The results were as follows: the levels of the awareness and the behavior of adolescents about consumption in each of purchase, use and disposition steps were more or less middle in terms of rationality or soundness. The correlations between the awareness and the behavior on conspicuous-consumption and between the awareness and the behavior of imitated-consumption in a purchase step were negatively siginificant, and the correlation between the awareness and the behavior on product frugality in a use step was positively significant. In a purchase step, the conspicuous-consumption behavior was affected by the conspicuous-consumption awareness and sex, while the imitated-consumption behavior was affeted by the imitated-consumption awareness, sex and monthly household income. • This study aimed to measure the monetary and non-monetary effects on brand awareness at hypermarkets in Riyadh. The independent variable consists of three sub-variables: price reductions, free samples, and purchasing vouchers. The research population has all Saudi and non-Saudi buyers in Riyadh. The figures show that the population size reached 3.87 million in 2019. The proportional stratification sampling technique and the recommended sample size were 387 buyers. The five-point Likert scale with the fully structured questionnaire was used. The study concldes the effect of free samples on brand awareness while there was no effect of monetary instruments. The results show that the three sales promotion incentives (price reduction, free samples, and purchasing vouchers) moderately affected brand awareness and a key role in explaining consumer behavior, so the significant impact was proved. In summary, this study showed that price reductions have the power of creating the perception of buyers at hypermarkets in Riyadh. Non-cash instruments were more effective than cash instruments in enhancing brand awareness at the hypermarkets in the Saudi market. So, the price reductions and purchasing vouchers have less power in conducting communication-based awareness. Building awareness and improving brand image through free samples were most visible in communication strategy.

  • Purpose: South Korea is rapidly changing into a multicultural society; the nursing discipline faces the need to educate its students in cultural competence to meet the health care needs of an ethnically diverse population. However, there is little evidence suggesting that nursing programs provide this education. The purpose of this study was to measure nursing students' cultural awareness in a nursing education program. Methods: Four hundred thirty-three nursing students at 4 universities in Daejeon participated in this cross-sectional descriptive study, which was held from August to September 2012. Data collection was conducted via questionnaires based on the Cultural Awareness Scale(CAS), and demographics included general and cultural characteristics. Results: The mean cultural awareness score was 4.54, which was relatively low compared to studies completed in other countries. The highest rating was in the cognitive awareness subscale, and the lowest was in the general education experiences subscale in CAS. The level of cultural awareness was significantly different in those who had experienced overseas travel. Those students also perceived a greater need for cultural education. Conclusion: The study's finding suggest the need for a transcultural nursing education program designed to enhance the level of cultural awareness in Korea's nursing students.

  • Purpose: This study was conducted in order to investigate the awareness of physical therapy and difference between physical therapy and rehabilitation therapy. Methods: A total of 183 subjects who gave consent to participate in the survey at five universities in Gyenggi-do were randomly selected and the survey was conducted from February 2012 to July 2013 by a questionnaire consisting of 13 questions. Frequency analysis for the awareness of the general characteristics of physical therapy, anticipated cost, awareness of difference, and cross tab analysis for correlation with each item were used. Results: Participants recognized the academic ability, and the department for management of physical therapist licensing very well. The kindness and workmanship of physical therapists were average. According to their experience of physical therapy, most participants received a hot pack and electrical therapy at a local clinic and satisfaction with treatment was high. The percentage of students who recognized a difference between physical therapy and rehabilitation therapy was high, however, they misunderstood only electrical therapy for physical therapy and they recognized the exercise method of physical therapy for rehabilitation therapy. No correlation of the awareness of difference was observed between physical therapy and rehabilitation therapy and the awareness of physical therapy, experience, and anticipated cost, except the major of students. Conclusion: We found that people can misunderstand exercise therapy for rehabilitation therapy even though they have good awareness of physical therapy. Therefore, a physical therapist has to find the ways to express their identity while working.
