내진검증(안전)을 위한 실험적 고찰을 이용한 해석 모델 개발연구 (A Test Verified Model Development Study for Seismic Qualification(Safety))

  • 이 논문은 기기검증 중 내진검증(안전)을 위한 접근방법의 일환으로 실험을 통한 유한요소 해석 모델을 개발하였다. 이 모델은 한국원자력연구소 내의 하나로원자로 전기설비 중의 일부분인 UPS를 내진검증하기 위한 것이다. 이 시험증명용 모델은 50Hz 미만의 모든 주요 모드에서 고유진동수가 약 5%이내의 오차를 갖는 값을 예측하였다. 이 모델은 내진검증을 위한 최종 응력해석에 적합하였으며 실제 기기의 동적특성의 예측에 고 정밀도를 보여주었다.

Seismic Response Analysis of Reinforced Concrete Wall Structure Using Macro Model

  • During earthquake, reinforced concrete walls show complicated post-yield behavior varying with shear span-to-depth ratio, re-bar detail, and loading condition. In the present study, a macro-model for the nonlinear analysis of multi-story wall structures was developed. To conveniently describe the coupled flexure-compression and shear responses, a reinforced concrete wall was idealized with longitudinal and diagonal uniaxial elements. Simplified cyclic material models were used to describe the cyclic behavior of concrete and re-bars. For verification, the proposed method was applied to various existing test specimens of isolated and coupled walls. The results showed that the predictions agreed well with the test results including the load-carrying capacity, deformation capacity, and failure mode. Further the proposed model was applied to an existing wall structure tested on a shaking table. Three-dimensional nonlinear time history analyses using the proposed model were performed for the test specimen. The time history responses of the proposed method agreed with the test results including the lateral displacements and base shear.

  • This paper presents the characteristics of stress transfer around carven due to cavern size and rock joint properties by laboratory model test. In order to perform this study, eight different scaled model tests were carried out according to excavation stage. The limited numerical analysis were also performed to verify the model test results. The amount of stress transfer around the cavern is increased and then decreased by longitudinal arching effect according to tunnel excavation. It is founded that the stress developed around the cavern during excavation is increased when the cavern size and joint orientation are increased. It is also investigated that shear behaviour (such as stress, deformation) developed around cavern is considerably depended on the characteristic of fill material, dip and direction of joints. It is suggested that the behaviour will be verified throughout the 3D numerical prediction.

  • In the ship-handling simulator, it is important for a ship manoeuvring model to represent the dynamic characteristic of a ship and to be simple for reducing calculation time. Especially, even if principal dimensions of a ship are given in initial design stage, or manoeuvring test data are only given by model or real ship's trials, simulations are often needed to check the manoeuvrability of a ship. In this paper, a simple manoeuvring model based on turning test data of a ship is mathematically developed. And the simulation results are verified by comparing with turning test results of a real ship.

쌍계사 오층석탑 실물 크기 모델의 동적 거동 시험 (Dynamic Test of a Full Scale Model of Five-Story Stone Pagoda of Sang-Gye-Sa)

  • 1936년 7월 4일 경상남도 하동군 화개면을 진앙지로 하는 규모 5의 지진이 발생하였다. 이 지진으로 인하여 쌍계사 경내 건물과 문화재가 손상을 입었으며 금당 앞에 위치한 오층석탑의 탑두(종형석)가 추락하였다. 쌍계사 지진의 세기를 정량적으로 평가하기 위하여 철저한 고층을 거쳐서 실물크기의 석탑 모델을 제작하였다. 제작된 석탑모델을 진동대에 탑재하여 낮은 진폭에서 석탑모델의 동특성을 확인하는 예비시험과 지진파의 지진가속도를 증가시켜 가면서 석탑모델의 거동 특성을 규명하는 본 시험을 실시하였다. 석탑모델의 제작과정과 시험 절차에 관하여 상세히 기술하였고 진동대 시험 결과를 제시하고 그 결과에 관하여 논하였다.

선박 조종성능 평가를 위한 옥외 자유항주모형시험의 불확실성 해석 (Uncertainty Assessment of Outdoor Free-Running Model Tests for Evaluating Ship Maneuverability)

  • An outdoor free-running model test system was designed for assessing ship maneuverability with test uncertainty. The test model was a surface combatant of tumblehome hull geometry. The straight forward tests were conducted first to obtain the relationship between the propeller revolution rate and advance speed. During the outdoor tests, the propeller revolution rate to achieve a certain Froude number condition was higher than that in the indoor free-running model tests. Turning circle and zigzag tests for evaluating ship maneuverability criteria were carried out at the propeller revolution rate determined by the straight forward test results. The random and systematic standard uncertainties of maneuvering criteria were obtained by repeated tests and comparison with the indoor free-running model test results, respectively. The test uncertainty was largely dominated by the systematic standard uncertainty, while the random standard uncertainty was small with good repeatability.

  • 시퀀스 다이어그램에 대한 모델 기반 테스트를 수행하기 위하여 시퀀스 다이어그램으로부터 테스트 케이스를 자동으로 생성해야 한다. 이를 위해서는 시퀀스 다이어그램이 나타내는 시나리오를 파악하고 테스트 커버리지를 만족하는 경로를 추출하여 테스트 정보를 생성해야 한다. 하지만 시퀀스 다이어그램은 결합 조각을 사용하여 반복 및 조건, 대안 정보를 나타내므로 시퀀스 다이어그램으로부터 테스트 케이스를 자동으로 생성하는 것은 복잡하다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 본 논문에서는 시퀀스 다이어그램으로부터 액티비티 다이어그램으로 변환을 수행하는 모델 변환 프로세스를 정의하고, 이를 통해 시퀀스 다이어그램의 시나리오를 제어 흐름 형태로 표현하고 여기에 테스트 커버리지를 적용하여 테스트 케이스를 생성하는 과정을 정의한다. 마지막으로, 사례 연구를 통하여 시퀀스 다이어그램으로부터 테스트 케이스를 생성하는 과정을 보인다.

KCS 선형의 규칙파 중 구속모형시험에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Captive Model Test of KCS in Regular Waves)

  • In order to investigate maneuvering characteristics of KCS in waves, captive model test in regular waves was conducted. Purpose of the test is measuring maneuvering hull forces when ship is maneuvering in waves. Model test was carried out using CPMC (Computerized Planar Motion Carriage) of ocean engineering basin in KRISO (Korea Research Institute of Ships and Ocean engineering). Total 6 degrees-of-freedom motion were fixed by two points supporting captive model test device, which is specially designed for this test. This system estimates 6 degrees-of-freedom forces and moments through 12 strain gauge signals. Mapping matrix from strain gauge signals to 6 degrees-of-freedom forces and moments was derived by a well-organized calibration test. Static drift test was conducted in calm sea and in regular waves with various wave conditions. Hydrodynamic coefficients related to drift angle were extracted for each wave conditions, and the effect of waves on course stability was analyzed.

Numerical Analysis on Letdown System Performance Test for YGN 3

  • Integrated performance test of Chemical and Volume Control System was successfully performed in 1994. However, an extensive effort to correct hardware and software problems in the letdown line was required mainly due to the lack of adequate simulation code to predict the test accurately. Although the LTC computer code was used during the YGN 3'||'&'||'4 NSSS design process, the code can not satisfactorily predict the test due to it insufficient letdown line modeling. This study developed a numerical model to simulate the letdown test by modifying the current LTC code, and then verified the model by comparing with the test data. The comparison shows that the modified LTC computer code can predict the transient behavior of letdown system lese very well. Especially, the model was verified to be able to predict the "Stiction (composition of stick and friction)" phenomena which caused instantaneous fluctuations in the letdown backpressure and flowrate. Therefore, it is concluded that the modified LTC computer code with the ability of calculating the "Stiction" phenomena will be very useful for future plant design and test predictions.predictions.

  • Model verification and validation (V&V) is a current research topic to build computational models with high predictive capability by addressing the general concepts, processes and statistical techniques. The hypothesis test for validity check is one of the model validation techniques and gives a guideline to evaluate the validity of a computational model when limited experimental data only exist due to restricted test resources (e.g., time and budget). The hypothesis test for validity check mainly employ Type I error, the risk of rejecting the valid computational model, for the validity evaluation since quantification of Type II error is not feasible for model validation. However, Type II error, the risk of accepting invalid computational model, should be importantly considered for an engineered products having high risk on predicted results. This paper proposes a technique named as the response-adaptive experimental design to reduce Type II error by adaptively designing experimental conditions for the validation experiment. A tire tread block problem and a numerical example are employed to show the effectiveness of the response-adaptive experimental design for the validity evaluation.
