Self is well·expressed by clothing, so self-image can be an effective variable for conducting clothing·behavior studies. But there ate some problems in clothing and self-image researches. This paper will be a clue to discuss these problems. The contents of this study are as follows. (1) The notion of self-image is compared with self-concept, and according to this work, self concept comprehends the evaluative properties in addition to self-image illustration. In tai.; part, the problem in translating the terminologies, 'self-concept' and 'self-image', are also discussed. (2) The aspects of self-image are explored, thus physical and social-psychological aspects are determined. (3) Two sub-dimensions of self-image ate recommended relating to clothing researches: actual versus ideal and intrinsic versus phenomenal. (4) Some comments for future studies ate added. It is needed to investigate the relationships of other social- psychological variables and self-image in clothing department.

This study reviews the properties of coastal ocean and Seomjin River estuary spaces then define some MGIS(Marine Geographic Information System) related terminologies for clarifying the scope of MGIS boundaries. Therefore, we show the three-dimensional circulation of MGIS-based Seomjin River Estuary integrating three-dimensional POM model and observed data.

대부분의 일반 정보 검색 시스템은 색인어를 통해 이루어지는데 이런 경우 사용자는 원하는 정보를 얻기 위해 데이터베이스에 저장된 색인어를 정확하게 입력해야 한다. 그러나 일반 사용자가 필요한 색인어를 정확하게 입력하기는 어렵고 특히 원하는 정보가 전문분야의 것일 때는 더욱 그러하다. 따라서 특정 분야의 용어들을 중심으로 전문용어를 관리할 수 있는 시스템의 개발이 요구되고 있다. 정보기술 분야도 빠르게 성장하고 있는 전문분야의 하나로 사용되는 대부분의 단어가 영어이고 한글 표기 또한 다양하여 많은 사용자들이 원하는 정보를 정확하게 찾지 못하고 있다. 이렇듯 단어간의 형태적인 불일치로 인해 생기는 정보 검색의 문제를 해결하고 검색어의 범위를 확장하기 위해 만든 것이 전문용어 검색 시스템이다. 정보 검색시 사용자가 입력한 검색어뿐만 아니라 동의어나 상위어, 하위어까지 검색하여 질의를 확장함으로써 검색 효율을 높일 수 있다. 또한 객체-관계형 데이터베이스로 설계하여 검색이 용이하고, 새로운 단어의 확장이 용이하도록 그 구조를 설계하였다. 제안한 시스템은 메인 메모리 DBMS 를 이용하여 전자상거래와 같이 많은 사용자들이 동시에 접근하는 환경에서도 빠른 검색 성능을 유지할 수 있도록 하였다.

Thyristor-controlled series capacitor (TCSC) is a power electronic-based device that provides a fast and controllable series compensation of transmission line reactance. To match with laboratory facilities and for further research initiatives, a practical laboratory scale TCSC was designed and fabricated in this paper. The TCSC parameters were designed based on the terminologies such as percentage of compensation, boost factor and resonance factor. According to the design parameters, a prototype laboratory scale TCSC with a constant reactance controller was fabricated and tested. The measured results from the laboratory scale TCSC demonstrate the ability of the TCSC to provide rapid control of series reactance of a transmission line.

지리정보는 시간이 흐름에 따라 변하는 정보를 계속 저장 유지 및 관리하여야 하기 때문에 데이터의 양이 계속 증가하고 용어간의 관계도 더욱 복잡해진다. 이러한 지리정보의 특성은 네트웍을 통한 정보의 공유 및 재사용을 위해 필요한 데이터 검색을 어렵게 한다. 지리정보의 관리, 해석, 그리고 검색의 효과를 향상시키기 위하여 지리정보분야의 어휘 정의와 분류 그리고 다른 어휘와의 관계를 포함하는 온톨로지를 활용할 수 있다. 본 논분에서는 지리정보 데이터 중 하천 관련 용어간의 온톨로지를 구축하여 지리정보 데이터의 관계에 의한 구조적인 검객이 가능하도록 하였다.

기술의 발달로 인해 수많은 용어들이 생성되고 있다. 이들은 대부분 전문용어이며 이는 비영어권 국가인 우리나라에 도입될 때, 외래어나 원어형태로 도입된다. 그런데 외래어나 원어형태의 전문용어는 형태소 분석기, 색인기 등의 시스템에서 오류의 원인이 되어, 이를 전처리기로 사용하는 자연언어처리 시스템의 성능을 저하 시킨다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 외래어나 원어로 된 전문용어를 처리하기 위한 전단계로서 문서에서 자동적으로 외래어를 인식하고 추출하는 방법을 제시한다. 본 논문에서 제시하는 방법은 외래어 추출 문제를 태깅문제로 변환하여, 태깅 문제를 해결하는 기법 중의 하나인 은닉마르코프 모델 (Hidden Markov Model)을 이용하여 외래어 추출을 하였다. 그 결과 94.90%의 재현률과 95.41%의 정확도를 나타내었다.

Document retrieval (DR) has been a serious issue for long in the field of Office Information Management. Nowadays, our daily work is becoming heavily dependent on the usage of information collected from the internet, and the DR methods on the Web has become an important issue which is studied more than any other topic by many researchers. The main purpose of this study is to develop a model to manage business documents by integrating three major methodologies used in the field of electronic library and information retrieval: Metadata, Thesaurus, and Index/Reversed Index. In addition, we have added a new concept of eDocument, which consists of metadata about unit documents and/or unit document themselves. eDocument is introduced as a way to utilize existing document sources. The core concepts and structures of the model were introduced, and the architecture of the eDocument management system has been proposed. Test (simulation) result of the model and the direction for the future studies were also mentioned.

Bioinformatics can beexplained as the science of developing algorithms, applicatiou tools, and computer databases and so on, for the purpose of supporting and enhancing biological research. Bioinformatic information systems (BIS) typically handle large data sets and the amount of the data goes up exponentially. Another impediment to easy extraction and retrieval of genomic data in BIS is the need to access different sites for similar information. Recently. there has been some attempts to integrate bioinformatics data in the World Wide Web (WWW) among the bioinformatics community by the internet computing technology. However, the work to integrate bioinformatics data on a universal platform has some problems because of the lack of standard, terminologies, semantics, and ontologies about bioinformatics. In this paper, an XML-based BIS architecture is proposed as an integrated BIS framework. The XML and related technologies allow the creation of meaningful information tags to exchange data between various databases as a standard format, and to create more simple interfaces. This integrated BIS framework has bioinformatic architectural components which is used in the Corporate Information Factory (CIF) method.

Drug delivery systems (DDS) have entered mainstream in the pharmaceutical industry in the recent years. Major pharmaceutical companies as well as small or medium-sized biotechnology companies are developing various DDS-based products. We have established Drug Delivery System Company Database, which is an online searchable database of companies that develop DDS-based products and technologies or supply formulations and/or materials. Company summary, products and key technologies are listed in the database. DDS technology fields also include administration routes and indications of drugs. DDS terminologies, Statistical analysis, Useful Links, Glossary and Comments pages are also provided.

In this paper, some popular intensity measures of earthquakes including magnitude, MMI, and PGA as well as their empirical relationships are briefly reviewed since they have been widely used without prudence by mass media, the public, and even the government when asking or expressing the seismic capacity of buildings. The basic concept of current seismic design is also presented in order to facilitate relevant discussions. It is emphasized that expressing the building seismic capacity simplistically in terms of seismological quantities or terminologies like magnitude and MMI is inherently irrational, may be misleading the stakeholders, and should be avoided. Alternative expressions, more rational and consistent with current seismic design philosophy and practice, are recommended.
