Towards Agile Application Integration with M2M Platforms

  • M2M (Machine-to-Machine) Technology makes it possible to network all kinds of terminal devices and their corresponding enterprise applications. Therefore, several M2M platforms were developed in China in order to collect information from terminal devices dispersed all over the local places through 3G wireless network. However, when enterprise applications try to integrate with M2M platforms, they should be maintained and refactored to adapt the heterogeneous features and properties of M2M platforms. Moreover, syntactical and semantic unification for information sharing among applications and devices are still unsolved because of raw data transmission and the usage of distinguished business vocabularies. In this paper, we propose and develop an M2M Middleware to support agile application integration with M2M platform. This middleware imports the event engine and XML-based syntax to handle the syntactical unification, makes use of Ontology-based semantic mapping to solve the semantic unification and adopts WebService and ETL techniques to sustain multi-pattern interactive approach, in order to agilely make applications integrated with the M2M platform. Now, the M2M Middleware has been applied in the China Telecom M2M platform. The operation results show that applications will cost less time and workload when being integrated with M2M platform.

  • The trend of compact size, light weight, low power consumption in the portable telecommunication equipments demands large scale integration and low voltage operation of chips and the minimization of the number of the components in the telecommunication terminal. According to the trend, existing chip components are modulized and are integrated as a part into a bigger chip. This paper is about the development of the peripheral units of micro-controller for mobile telecommunication terminal. Peripherals consist of DMA controller, Interrupt controller, timer, watchdog timer, clock generator, and power management unit. They are designed to be integrated with EU(Execution Unit) and BIU(Bus Interface Unit) into a 16 bit micro-controller which will be used as a core of an ASIC for next generation digital mobile telecommunication terminal. At first, whole block of the micro-controller was described by VHDL behavioral model and simulated to verify its overall operation. Then, watchdog timer, clock generator and power management unit were directly synthesized by using VHDL synthesis tool. Rest of the pheriperal units were designed and simulated by using Compass Design Tool.

인간 포미바이러스 인테그라제 돌연변이의 특성 (Characterization of Human Foamy Virus Integrase Mutant)

  • Human foamy virus (HFV) integrase mediates integration of viral c-DNA into cellular DNA. In this process, HFV integrase recognizes its own viral DNA specifically and catalyzes insertion of viral c-DNA. In order to study catalytic domains and residues, three deletion mutants and two point mutants of HFV integrase were constructed and analyzed with respect to enzymatic activities. The C-terminal deletion mutant showed decreased enzymatic activities while the N-terminal deletion mutant lost the activities completely, indicating that the N-terminal domain is more important than the C-terminal domain in enzymatic reaction. The point mutants, in which an aspartic acid at the 164th position or a glutamic acid at the 200th position of the HFV integrase protein was changed to an alanine, lost the enzymatic activities completely. However, they were well complemented with other defective deletion mutants to recover enzymatic activities partially. Therefore, these results suggest that the aspartic acid and glutamic acid at the respective 164th and 200th positions are catalytic residues for enzymatic reaction.

  • cdma2000 이동통신망의 패킷데이터 서비스는 넓은 영역을 커버하는 대신에 비용이 높고 대역폭이 낮다. 반면에 무선랜의 경우 작은 지역만을 커버할 수 있지만 대역폭이 크고 비용이 낮은 특성이 있다. 그러므로 무선랜과 cdma2000 이동통신망을 연동하여 사용한다면.효율적인 서비스를 제공할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 기존 cdma2000 이동통신망과 무선랜의 효율적인 연동을 통해서 끊김 없는 서비스를 받을 수 있는 망 연동 방안을 제안하고 이중모드 단말을 구현한다. 제안하는 망 연동 방안은 기존의 밀결합 연동의 단점을 보완한 망 구조를 가지고 있으며, 이중 모드 단말은 무선 네트워크의 상태를 파악하여 네트워크를 선택하고 자동으로 연결을 관리하도록 한다. 또한 구현된 시스템 하에서 성능 특정을 통하여 우수성을 보인다.

A study on the Enhancement of Transshipment Competitiveness of Busan Port by Analyzing Factors Affecting Transshipment Competitiveness

  • It is understood that carriers evaluate several features of ports when fixing the T/S port. Those features can be enumerated as Geographic condition of port, Service network with overseas ports, Level of port productivity, Port infrastructure, Port services level, Port Authority's Policy direction mand Cost competitiveness. The objectives of this study are to: 1) determine if those factors could affect the T/S competitiveness of the port; and 2) to evaluate how Busan port conforms to those determinants factors in such extent. According to results of the analysis after surveying National global carrier, Intra-Asia carriers, Global overseas carriers, Terminal operators, and Busan Port Authority known to be highly influential samples, all factors were proven to be factors affecting the T/S competitiveness of the port. Meanwhile, in the analysis through AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) methodology about the order of weight among those factors, Cost competitiveness was answered as the most important factor. On the other hand, in the analysis to find the situation if Busan port conforms to those factors, Busan port was proven to satisfy those conditions to a moderate extent. In the analysis about the order of strength among those factors, Busan port was answered to have the highest strength in the geographic condition. However, it showed the bottom level of strength in the Cost competitiveness which was answered as the most important factor among samples for determining the T/S competitiveness of the port. This indicates that Government and Port Authority of Busan have to concentrate policy capabilities on the improvement of cost competitiveness of Busan port to enhance the T/S competitiveness. In this paper, four policy recommendations are given : Integration of Busan port operation into New port, Combining multiple operators into one or a few, Attracting Global mega carriers as the New port terminal operators, and Continuous Infrastructure expansion.

R & D 프로잭트의 Feasibility 추정 시스템설계를 위한 추정치 종합화 모형의 구축 (A New Model on Integration of Feasibility Estimates for Designing FEIT System in R & D Project)

  • The purpose of this study is to construct a new model named Communication Consensus Value Weighted (CCVW) model based on inter-personal technical communication within a project team, and to design Feasibility Estimates Integrated Terminal System (FEITS) which is a subsystem of R & D Project Planning System/System Alternatives Feasibility Estimation System (RDPPL/SAFES) using the model as a key function for feasibility estimation in that system. This new model aims to integrate technical feasibility estimated by several estimators in the lowest level as the project work breakdown structure which is the indentical conception of a terminal system in RDPPL. The process to obtain the feasibility estimate integrated is presented in this paper.

  • Many researchers have worked for the sensorless control of SynRM in recent years. However they commonly requires large calculations which induced from its complexity. For low cost application as like home appliance, it is difficult to utilize because of the cost problem. Therefore, it is necessary to introduce simplified sensorless control scheme that is composed of least calculation to estimate the rotor position. In this paper the sensorless control is performed using the characteristics of SynRM structure in which the linkage flux varies with rotor position, so the rotor position can be detected by the change of linkage flux. The estimation of linkage flux can be acquired from the integration of the motor terminal voltage which is commonly used method for the reliability of the estimation. However this estimation method has demerits in low speed operation therefore in that region the motor terminal voltage is compensated by the phase current. A digital simulation (MATLAB) and experiment were performed to confirm the adequacy of the proposed control scheme.

  • 인터넷 프로트콜에 적용가능한 모든 Mobile단말은 데이터, 통신들의 상호 편리하고 자유로운 커뮤니케이션의 급속한 발전을 가져왔으나 이때 가장 취약한 점이 바로 보안부분이다. 현재 제시되고 있는 각망의 연동기술의 현황을 분석하고 단말및 이종 네트워크간의 상이한 보안체계의 연동과정에서 발생가능성 있는 취약성 및 예상가능한 각종 보안위협에 대하여 대응책등을 고려하려 보다 강화된 보안기술 및 성능분석을 제시하고자 한다.

A Study on the Wedge Angle of the Rail Clamp according to the Design Wind Speed Criteria Change

  • In cargo-working, it unavoidably happens that the quay crane slip along the rail and the container move from side to side. Especially, they involve a lot of risk in bad weather. The rail clamp is a mooring device to prevent that the quay crane slips along the rail due to bad weather or the wind blast while the quay crane do the cargo-working And it will play a greater role in port container terminal integration and automation To design the wedge type rail clamp, it is very important to determine the wedge angle. In this study, we expect that the design wind speed of the quay crane will change over 16m/s. Assuming that the design wind speed is 40m/s, we determined the proper wedge angle of the wedge type rail clamp for the 50ton class quay crane.

  • 게이트 운영은 수출 컨테이너를 위한 시작점이면서 수입 컨테이너의 종착점으로 컨테이너의 확인과 통제가 필요한 중요한 시설물이다. 본 연구의 목적은 컨테이너터미널 내부의 차량 통행량을 분산시키면서 차량의 체재시간을 감소시키기 위한 분리게이트 설계방안을 제안하는 것이다. 대량의 컨테이너가 단기간에 하역되기 때문에 많은 차량이 일시에 게이트를 통과해야 한다. 본 연구는 두개의 개별 선석의 통합을 고려한 게이트 운영을 위한 효과적인 설계로서 분리 게인트시스템을 제안한다.
