Herein, a highly elastic e-textile band with a two-wire transmission line was designed and fabricated for smart clothing applications. A conductive yarn with a very uniform low electrical resistance of 0.0357 Ω/cm was developed and used for the signal and ground lines. To control the elasticity of the e-textile band, spandex yarns were added in the warp direction during knitting and the tension was adjusted. As the length of the e-textile band increased, its RF performance deteriorated. Furthermore, the frequency corresponding to -3 dB S21 was lower in the 30% stretched band than in the unstretched band. For the e-textile bands with lengths 10, 50, and 100 cm, the frequencies corresponding to -3 dB S21 were 107.77, 24.56, and 13.02 MHz when not stretched, and 88.74, 22.02, and 12.60 MHz when stretched by 30%. The fabricated bands were flatter, more flexible, and more elastic than transmission line cables; thus, they can be easily integrated into wearables and smart clothing. However, to increase RF performance and achieve optimum utilization, future studies must focus on the fabrication of transmission lines with lower resistance and reduced distance between the signal and ground lines, and thus the number of transmission lines can be increased.
A common kestrel was admitted to Chungnam wild animal rescue center, having been unable to fly. On the physical examination, the bird was presented with contusion and swelling on its right humerus closed fraction and had pain response. Radiographic examination was explicitly revealed closed fracture on right proximal humerus. Its closed fracture was reduced with tie-in fixator and figure-of-eight tension band, and inserted pins on its right humerus surgery were removed on the $14^{th}$ day after the surgery. As Falco tinnunculus was able to move its wings from Day $21^{st}$ day, its rehabilitation was done at outdoor facility and it was successfully released. Proximal humerus reduction with tie-in fixator and the wire was a success, and this treatment with reference to this study will be surely effective to support the other wildbird's reduction stability.
Purpose: We wanted to evaluate the surgical results of early mobilization after rigid fixation of small coronoid fracture using the tension band technique Materials and Methods: Eight cases of coronoid fracture were fixed with the tension band technique and using K-wire and wire through the medial approach. All the cases were Regan-Morrey type 2. According to O'Driscoll, they were classified as 5 cases of the tip type (subtype 2) and 3 cases of the anteromedial type (1 case of subtype 2, and 2 case of subtype 3). The associated collateral ligament injuries (6 cases) and radial head/neck fractures (4 cases) were managed simultaneously. After immobilization for 5~7 days, active ROM exercise with a fitted hinge brace started and continued till postoperative 6 weeks. The patients were assessed for pain, ROM and functional disability using the Mayo elbow performance score (MEPS) at an average of 11 months (range: 6~28 months). The ulnar nerve symptoms were also investigated. Results: We observed solid union in all the coronoid fractures without hardware failure. An average of 2.2 wires (range: 2~4) were used. The mean extension was $3^{\circ}$(range: $0^{\circ}\sim25^{\circ}$), the mean flexion was $137^{\circ}$(range: $130^{\circ}\sim140^{\circ}$), the mean pronation was $69^{\circ}$(range: $45^{\circ}\sim90^{\circ}$) and the mean supination was $78^{\circ}$(range: $45^{\circ}\sim90^{\circ}$). The mean MEPS was 96 (range: 65~100). Ulnar nerve symptoms occurred at postoperative one day and persisted in one patient with the terrible triad of taking radial head excision and residual medial instability. Conclusion: The tension band technique uses easily obtained, economic K-wires and the wire was strong enough to permit early elbow ROM exercise and the technique might improve the elbow function. It was especially useful for fixation of multiple small fragments.
Based on the experiment results, the damage and fracture behavior of concrete at the ages of 1d, 2d, 7d and 28d, in three-point bending and uniaxial tensile tests, were simulated with a finite element program, ABAQUS. The critical stress intensity factor $K_{IC}^s$ and the critical crack tip opening displacement ($CTOD_C$) of concrete were calculated with effective-elastic crack approach for the three-point bending test of grade C30 concrete. Based on the crack band model, a bilinear strain-softening curve was derived to simulate the LOAD-CMOD curves and LOAD-Displacement curves. In numerical analysis of the uniaxial tension test of concrete of grade C40, the damage and fracture mechanics were combined. The smeared cracking model coupling with damaged variable was adopted to evaluate the onset and development of microcracking of uniaxial tensile specimen. The uniaxial tension test was simulated by invoking the damage plastic model which took both damage and plasticity as inner variables with user subroutines. All the numerical simulated results show good agreement with the experimental results.
The parametric instability behaviour of a plate subjected to localized in-plane compressive or tensile periodic edge loading is studied, considering the effects of damping into the system. Different edge loading cases have been considered. Damping has been introduced in the form of proportional damping. Dynamic instability behaviour under compressive or tensile periodic edge loading shows that the instability regions are influenced by the load band width and its location on the edge. The effects of damping on the instability regions show that there is a critical value of dynamic load factor beyond which the plate becomes dynamically unstable. The critical dynamic load factor increases as damping increases. Damping generally reduces the widths of the instability regions.

Os acromiale is the rare shoulder disease and its treatment is controversial. Despite conservative treatments for 6 months include medication, exercise, physical therapy and subacromial steroid injections, operative treatment for uncontrolled symptomatic Os acromiale is considered the treatment of choice. Operative treatment includes excision, arthroscopic or open reduction and internal fixation with a bone graft. Open reduction with tension band wiring and a bone graft is now the preferred treatment. We experienced 8 patients with symptomatic Os acromiale from March, 2001 to March, 2006. The average patient's age was 45 years and the man and women ratio were 2: 6. All 8 cases of symptomatic Os acromiale of the mesoacromion were treated with open reduction and internal fixation using tension-band wiring. The preoperative ASES($47.3\pm24.4$) and UCLA ($16.6\pm5.8$)scores were improved to $88.8\pm7.3$ and $31.5\pm1.9$, respectively, at the 2 year follow up. The overall UCLA score showed 1 excellent result and 7 good results. We think that symptomatic Os acromiale is a specific disease entity, and open reduction and internal fixation using tension-band wiring with K-wire is a good treatment modality.
Objective: Tension Type Headache is the most common primary headache, and the prevalence is highest among people in their thirties. The 2009 domestic headache epidemiological survey indicated a prevalence rate of 30.8% per year. The patients often complain of feeling "as if they are tightening their head or wearing a band." No other symptoms, such as nausea and vomiting, accompany the headache, and the physical and neurological findings are normal. Korean medicine treatment of tension type headache is mainly with acupuncture, not herbal medicine. In the present study, a patient with tension type headache was admitted to the Korean medicine hospital for treatment. We report on the patient's progress and the effects of the herbal treatment. Methods: The patient was treated with Gaegyeolseogyeong-tang, acupuncture, herbal acupuncture therapy, and physical therapy. We used the Korean Headache Impact Test-6 and Numeric Rating Scale to assess changes in tension type headache symptoms. Results: The patient was diagnosed with Qi-stagnation syndrome (氣滯證) and Ganyangsanghang-headache (肝陽上亢頭痛). The patient was hospitalized for 42 days and showed recovery from the tension type headache without any adverse events. Conclusion: Patients with tension type headache could be treated with Korean medicine.

The reorientations of the atoms by frictional shear deformation at the surface induce cracks at the boundary of the grain. The cracks grow and propagate in regions where the hydrostatic component of stress is least compressive because the compressive component restores the cracks by three-dimensional crystallizing $\pi$-bondings. The materials with Lder's band have very small amount of wear at the initial state. It suggests that initial frictional shear deformation be consumed to the formation of the Lder's band. The average wear amounts of the materials increase very steeply as the øu the stress-strain ratio at the ultimate point, decreases.
