내부 유체흐름을 포함한 Riser System의 자유진동 (Free Vibration of Marine Riser System with the Inclusion of Internal Flow)

  • 해저 riser관내에 내부유체 금이 발생한 때 그 흐름으로 인해 riser system의 자유진동에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위해 수학적 모델이 유도된다. System의 고유진동수를 계산하기 위해 조화함수 확장을 적용하여 고유치 방정식을 유도하는 부분해석적 방법을 사용하였다. 그리고 이 방법론은 기존 해석론에 의해 비교 검증된다. 컴퓨터 프로그램을 위한 알고리즘이 개발되어 내부유체 흐름이 system 고유진동수에 미치는 영향을 상부인장력, 내부 유체흐름 속도 등과 같은 인자의 변화에 따라 조사하였다 분석결과 내부유체흐름의 영향은 상부인장력에 의해 지배되나 심해저 riser와 같은 장대 riser의 경우에 설계시 세심한 주의가 요구된다.

상압건조 나노다공성 실리카 에어로젤에 대한 용매의 영향 (Influence of solvent on the nano porous silica aerogels prepared by ambient drying process)

  • Nano porous, transparent silica aerogels monoliths were prepared under ambient drying (1 atm, $270^{\circ}C$) condition by the combination of sol-gel process and surface modification with subsequent heat treatment. Three kinds of solvent, n-hexane, n-heptane and xylene, were selected in the point view of low surface tension and vapor pressure in order to restrain a formation of cracks during drying. Crack-free silica aerogels with over 93 % of porosity and below $0.14g/cm^3$ of density were obtained by solvent exchange and surface modification under atmosphere condition. Optimum solvent was confirmed n-heptane among these solvents through estimation of FT-IR, TGA, BET and SEM. Modified silica aerogel exhibited a higher porosity and pore size compare to unmodified aerogels. Hydrophobicity was also controled by C-H and H-OH bonding state in the gel structure and heat treatment over $400^{\circ}C$ effects to the hydrophobicity due to oxidation of C-H radicals.

Flexural ductility of prestressed concrete beams with unbonded tendons

  • Based on a numerical method to analyse the full-range behaviour of prestressed concrete beams with unbonded tendons, parametric studies are carried out to investigate the influence of 11 parameters on the curvature ductility of unbonded prestressed concrete (UPC) beams. It is found that, among various parameters studied, the depth to prestressing tendons, depth to non-prestressed tension steel, partial prestressing ratio, yield strength of non-prestressed tension steel and concrete compressive strength have substantial effects on the curvature ductility. Although the curvature ductility of UPC beams is affected by a large number of factors, rather simple equations can be formulated for reasonably accurate estimation of curvature ductility. Conversion factors are introduced to cope with the difference in partial safety factors, shapes of equivalent stress blocks and the equations to predict the ultimate tendon stress in BS8110, EC2 and ACI318. The same equations can also be used to provide conservative estimates of ductility of UPC beams with compression steel.

용융 고분자간의 계면장력에 대한 이론적 예측 (Theoretical Estimation of Interfacial Tension between Molten Polymers)

  • 특성구조액체이론(significant structure theory of liquids)에 입각하여, 섞이지 않는 두 용융 고분자중에서의 계면장력을 예측하는 간단한 계산방법을 연구하였다. 접착에너지는 응집에너지들의 기하평균과 보정항의 곱으로 표시되며, 응집에너지는 고분자 사슬의 격자상을 가정하므로써 계산된다. 계면장력올 계산함에 있어서 고분자사슬의 구성요소간 분산력(dispersion force) 외에 극성력(poIar force)를 포함시켜야 함이 확인되었다.

Rapid S-N type life estimation for low cycle fatigue of high-strength steels at a low ambient temperature

  • This paper presents a new efficient approach to estimate the S-N type fatigue life assessment curve for S550 high strength steels under low-cycle actions at -60℃. The proposed approach combines a single set of monotonic tension test and one set of fatigue tests to determine the key material damage parameters in the continuum damage mechanics framework. The experimental program in this study examines both the material response under low-cycle actions. The microstructural mechanisms revealed by the Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) at the low temperature, furthermore, characterizes the effect due to different strain ratios and low temperature on the low-cycle fatigue life of S550 steels. Anchored on the experimental results, this study validates the S-N curve determined from the proposed approach. The S-N type curve determined from one set of fatigue tests and one set of monotonic tension tests estimates the fatigue life of all specimens under different strain ratios satisfactorily.

모형실험과 시뮬레이션을 통한 활어 이송용 예인 가두리의 수직 및 수평 전개력 추정 (Estimation of vertical and horizontal spreading force of the towing cage for transporting the live fish by model test and simulation)

  • Nowadays, consumption of fisheries products is increasing. There are several factors, one of which is a quantitative development through aquaculture. Another factor is an increase qualitative consumption of fish which require that fish be supplied alive. This requires a lot of technical effort to transport the live fish that have low survival rate (c.f. tuna and mackerel) in coastal waters and in the open sea. To develop a towing cage for transporting the live fish, model test in a circulate water channel and simulation by computer tool were carried out. In order to spread vertically, floats were attached at the upper part of the cage, and iron chains attached at the lower part of the cage. For horizontal spreading, kites were attached on the cage. The tension and spreading performance of the cage were measured. The result shows that the tension and reduction ratio of inside volume of the cage were tended to increase with increased towing speeds. The suitable operation condition in towing cage was 1.0 m/s towing speeds with vertical spreading force 8.7 kN, horizontal spreading force 5.6 kN; in this case the reduction ratio of inside volume of the cage was estimated as 25%.

Flexural behavior model for post-tensioned concrete members with unbonded tendons

  • The need for long-span members increases gradually in recent years, which makes issues not only on ultimate strength but also on excessive deflection of horizontal members important. In building structures, the post-tension methods with unbonded tendons are often used for long-span members to solve deflection problems. Previous studies on prestressed flexural members with unbonded tendons, however, were mostly focused on the ultimate strength. For this reason, their approaches are either impossible or very difficult to be implemented for serviceability check such as deflection, tendons stress, etc. Therefore, this study proposed a flexural behavior model for post-tensioned members with unbonded tendons that can predict the initial behavior, before and after cracking, service load behavior and ultimate strength. The applicability and accuracy of the proposed model were also verified by comparing with various types of test results including internally and externally post-tensioned members, a wide range of reinforcement ratios and different loading patterns. The comparison showed that the proposed model very accurately estimated both the flexural behavior and strength for these members. Particularly, the proposed model well reflected the effect of various loading patterns, and also provided good estimation on the flexural behavior of excessively reinforced members that could often occur during reinforcing work.

선박 판부재의 개선된 좌굴평가 시스템의 개발 (The Development of Advanced Buckling Strength Estimation System)

  • 일반적으로 선박 판부재의 좌굴강도에 대한 안전성 평가는 선체구조 설계단계에서 반드시 거쳐야 할 단계로 한 척의 배는 수많은 판부재로 구성되어 선박구조 전체에 대한 이론적이며 체계적인 시스템을 이용한 좌골강도평가의 정확도 및 효율성이 강조되고 있다. 그러나 현재의 판부재 좌굴강도를 평가하는 각 선급의 규정치가 많은 영향인자를 고려치 않고 있거나 함축척으로 고려하고 있기 때문에 경우에 따라서는 좌굴강도가 상당한 안전측의 값을 제시하는 등 실제 선급규정치의 사용에 제약을 주기도 한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 면내인장력의 영향등 선급들의 좌굴 규정치뿐만이 아니라 면내인장력의 효과, 경계조건, 횡하중 및 잔류응력등을 고려하면서 손쉽게 좌굴평가를 수행할 수 있는 선진 좌굴평가시스템을 개발하였다. 이들 선진 좌굴평가시스템을 이용하면 선박판부재의 보다 정도 높고 효율적인 평가가 가능하리라 생각되며 앞으로 대중적인 사용을 위해 워크스테이션 외에도 개인용 컴퓨터에서의 시스템 구축을 계획하고 있다.

Application of direct tension force transfer model with modified fixed-angle softened-truss model to finite element analysis of steel fiber-reinforced concrete members subjected to Shear

  • Steel fiber-reinforced concrete (SFRC) is known as one of the efficient modern composites that can greatly enhance the material performance of cracked concrete in tension. Such improved tensile resistance mechanism at crack interfaces in SFRC members can be heavily influenced by methodologies of treatments of crack direction. While most existing studies have focused on developing the numerical analysis model with the rotating-angle theory, there are only few studies on finite element analysis models with the fixed-angle model approach. According to many existing experimental studies, the direction of principal stress rotated after the formation of initial fixed-cracks, but it was also observed that new cracks with completely different angles relative to the initial crack direction very rarely occurred. Therefore, this study introduced the direct tension force transfer model (DTFTM), in which tensile resistance of the fibers at the crack interface can be easily estimated, to the nonlinear finite element analysis algorithm with the fixed-angle theory, and the proposed model was also verified by comparing the analysis results to the SFRC shear panel test results. The secant modulus method adopted in this study for iterative calculations in nonlinear finite element analysis showed highly stable and fast convergence capability when it was applied to the fixed-angle theory. The deviation angle between the principal stress direction and the fixed-crack direction significantly increased as the tensile stresses in the steel fibers at crack interfaces increased, which implies that the deviation angle is very important in the estimation of the shear behavior of SFRC members.

음탄성법을 이용한 고장력 볼트의 축응력 평가 (Estimation of the Axial Stress in High-Tension Bolt by Acoustoelastic Method)

  • 고장력볼트의 체결상태를 평가하는 것은 체결볼트의 안전유지관리 측면에서 매우 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 초음파의 음속이 응력에 의존하는 이른바 음탄성효과에 기초하여 초음파의 전파시간(TOF)를 측정함으로써 볼트에 작용하는 축응력을 평가하는 방법을 제안한다. 그런데 일반적으로 볼트체결시 볼트에 작용하는 응력범위내에서의 음속 변화량은 매우 작으며, 따라서 TOF 측정에 있어서 높은 정밀도가 요구된다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 톤버스트파형의 초음파를 이용한 위상검출법을 적용하였다. 제안된 원리는 실험을 통해 검증되었으며, 볼트 축응력 측정의 유효성을 검증하기 위해 스트레인게이지를 이용한 축응력 측정결과와 비교하였다. 두 결과는 양호한 일치를 보였으며, 이로써 제안한 방법이 체결된 고장력볼트의 체결상태 평가에 유용하다는 결론을 얻을 수 있었다.
