  • The leakage accident from a storage tank in an oil refinery plant occurred in April 2014 and the total loss is KRW 18 billion. This accident has prompted many companies to develop their own mitigation system to minimize the loss of the leakage accident. The aim of this study is to design the temporary storage facility system for dealing with leakage accidents. The basic concept of this system is that the leakage fluid of a hazardous material flows into a temporary storage tank and this is transferred to a spare tank by a pump as avoiding the overflow of a temporary storage tank. In order to design this system, the leakage velocity and quantity according to time series should be evaluated. In addition, a proper pump capacity should be determined to avoid repeating the pump switching on and off frequently. In this study, the benzene tank is selected to verify the efficacy of this system. This study can play a critical role to provide a guideline for designing a new system.

  • Purpose: This study has developed economical and environmentally friendly storage type infiltration facilities that securing storage space inside the infiltration facility. It focused on preventing flooding rainfall as well as securing more groundwater through rainwater infiltration that is valuable for the dry season. In addition, this study compares the installation cost of the storage-type infiltration facility to the cost of the conventional rainwater management facilities to demonstrate the economic efficiency of the storage-based infiltration facility. Method: Unit infiltration of this facility is calculated and when it was applied to a certain capacity, the amount of countermeasures are proposed in case study. Result: Unit infiltration of it is $0.2541m^3/hr$ and un it Temporary storage of it is $1.054m^3/m$. As a result, the infiltration effect of this facility is $1.306m^3/hr$. The cost was approximately 30% reduction in time to apply the storage type infiltration facility as compared with the case to apply the existing penetration of the facilities. Since the penetration of the existing facilities is smaller than that and it has much securing volume to process the same the amount of countermeasures. Therefore, it is determined that the cost significantly increases in material cost part. On the other hand, storage type infiltration facility is installed a small quantity because Unit Temporary storage and infiltration are bigger than that. So, it occurred to reduce material and installation costs.

  • The object of this study was to evaluate the separation distance from a temporary storage facility satisfying the dose criteria. The calculation of ambient dose rates took into account cover soil thickness, facility size, and facility type by using MCNPX code. Shielding effects of cover soil were 68.9%, 96.9% and 99.7% at 10 cm, 30 cm and 50 cm respectively. The on-ground type of storage facility had the highest ambient dose rate, followed by the semi-ground type and the underground type. The ambient dose rate did not vary with facility size (except $5{\times}5{\times}2m\;size$) due to the self-shielding of decontamination waste in temporary storage. The separation distances without cover soil for a $50{\times}50{\times}2m\;size$ facility were evaluated as 14 m (minimum radioactivity concentration), 33 m (most probably radioactivity concentration), and 57 m (maximum radioactivity concentration) for on-ground storage type, 9 m, 24 m, and 45 m for semi-underground storage type, and 6 m, 16 m, and 31 m for underground storage type.

  • Nowadays, a source of all water, which has been spent by a lot of people, is the rainwater The rainwater is directly relating human being' life. According to how to use rainwater. human being' life is abundant or poor. Due to the lack of underground filtration quantity, the water circulation of the city is discontinued and the underground ecosystem is destroyed. This study suggest that the unused underground space of building and temporary structure can be used into rainwater storage tank in the facility to use rainwater. Moreover, in this study, while the building is constructed, It is showed that the water used in construction can be replaced in the rainwater.

  • In this paper, this is a study on the correction of protection relays to monitor temporary power facilities for storage tanks especially transformers to block and protect faults such as insulation breakdown. When an abnormality such as a short circuit or a ground fault occurs in the power system, it is important to detect this quickly cut off the device and equipment in which the fault occurred and separate it from the power system to correct the protection relay so that it does not interfere with power supply. In addition the fault current calculation that accurately applies the fault type and the cause of the fault for protection cooperation will be the most important factor in the correction of the protection relay. For protection coordination a study was conducted on the method of coordination for protection of power facility protection for storage tanks such as over current relay, ground over current relay, under voltage relay, and ground over voltage relay applied to temporary.

  • The uranium nuclear fuel used in nuclear power generation needs to be replaced with new fuel after a certain period. In South Korea, the spent nuclear fuel generated during this process is temporarily stored within the nuclear power plant site, and there are ongoing issues with the saturation of storage capacity. To address these problems, the South Korea government has established a plan to manage high-level radioactive waste, including provisions for securing interim storage facilities. An interim storage facility is designed to safely store spent nuclear fuel for certain period before its permanent disposal. This study analyzed leading international cases of interim storage facilities that are technically feasible and can reduce the operating period of temporary storage facilities for spent nuclear fuel within nuclear power plant sites. It also presented the technical concepts required for the operation of interim storage facilities for spent fuel from PWR(Pressurized Water Reactor), reflecting the situation in South Korea.

  • A temporary LP-gas facility means outdoor LP-gas facilities in public venues such as boothes or food stalls. As temporary LP-gas facility is not an object of mandatory inspection, it is neccesary to develop an effective strategy of safety management. In this study, the direction of safety management strategy is analyzed through a survey and analysis of risk factor about gas facilities in a booth and stall. Some improved directions are suggested such as the use of pipeline and common gas storage. It is expected that the results of this study could help to improve LP-gas efficiency management.
