  • Typically, the vital signs that are representing the state of human body, are the body temperature, sphygmus, respiration and blood pressure. The body temperature is the result of metabolic regulation and human steady-state body temperature is maintained from 35.9 to $37.4^{\circ}C$ by heat regulatory center. The body temperature is indicative of infection and especially it should be monitored to requiring intensive care patients or after surgical patients. But, measuring of body temperature to a heavy workload on nursing staff has been recognized. And, the health service of nurse is limited by simple tasks such as the measurement and record of vital sign. In this paper, the body temperature monitoring telemetry system was proposed to prove the recoding and transmission of body temperature patch system according the standard(ISO TS11073-92001). We proposed the transmission protocol to suit the MFER(medical waveform format encoding rules). The telemetry patch system was implemented and it was verified by experiments.

  • Pt thin film of about 7000$\AA$ thickness was deposited on the alumina substrate using DC Magnetron Sputter and the characteristics of the film for temperature sensor were investigated. When film of about 7000$\AA$ thickness was deposited at working gas pressure of $2.0{\times}10^{-3}$torr, sputtering power of 50W, substrate temperature of $350^{\circ}C$(Ts), sheet resistance(Rs), resistivity($\rho$) and temperature coefficient of resistivity(TCR) of the film were respectively 0.39$\Omega$/$\square$, 27.60$\mu\Omega$-cm and $3350 ppm/^{\circ}C$. When the film was annealed at $1000^{\circ}C$ for 240min in hydrogen ambient, Rs, $\rho$ and TCR were respectively 0.236$\Omega$/$\square$, 15.18$\mu\Omega$-cm and 3716 ppm/$3716 ppm/^{\circ}C$. When working gas of 15sccm oxygen and 100sccm Argon were used, Rs, $\rho$ and TCR were respectively 0.335$\Omega$/$\square$, 22.45$\mu\Omega$-cm and $3427 ppm/^{\circ}C$. When the film was annealed at $1000^{\circ}C$ for 240min, Rs, $\rho$and TCR were respectively 0.224/$\Omega$$\square$, 14$\mu\Omega$-cm and $3760 ppm/^{\circ}C$ and the characteristics of the film were much improved.

  • Throughout the 20th century, the transition of pig farms from extensive to intensive commercial operations amplified the risk of disease transmission, particularly involving African swine fever (ASF). Real-time temperature monitoring systems have emerged as essential tools for early ASF diagnosis. In this paper, we introduce new real-time temperature monitoring ear tags (RTMEs) modeled after existing ear tag designs. Our crafted Pig-Temp platforms have three primary advantages. First, they can be effortlessly attached to pig ears, ensuring superior compatibility. Second, they enable real-time temperature detection, and the data can be displayed on a personal computer or smartphone application. Furthermore, they demonstrate excellent measurement accuracy, ranging from 98.9% to 99.8% at temperatures between 2.2 and 360℃. A linear regression approach enables fever symptoms associated with ASF to be identified within 3 min using RTMEs. The communication range extends to approximately 12 m (452 m2), enabling measurements from an estimated 75 to 2,260 pigs per gateway. These newly developed Pig-Temp platforms offer singifcant enhancement of early ASF detection.

  • Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are special network which has purpose of usage for gathering information of certain area and observing situation. WSNs consist of small nodes with sensing event such as temperature, movement or certain objects. The sensor has the capabilities to collect data and route data back to the sink. The sensors route data either to other sensors or back to a sink in one direction. That is, traditional WSNs communicate asymmetrically. However, under the new paradigm of the Internet of Things (IoTs) or Cyber Physical system (CPS), WSNs have potential to be used as important area. So, more research is necessary to communicate with each moving objects symmetrically in WSNs. In this paper, we proposed symmetric communication scheme among mobile objects in wireless sensor network. Simulation results show that our scheme is superior th the existing ones in terms of energy consumption and transmission success ratio.

  • High-voltage power systems operate in order to generate and transmit electric power at power stations. Compared to low-power systems, high-power systems are complex in structure, large-scale, and expensive. When high-power cable accidents occur, most facilities are incapacitated-including low-power systems-causing huge economic losses. Great care must therefore be taken in designing, installing and managing power systems. Although dependent on installation circumstances and usage conditions, in some cases the cross-sectional areas of cables fall short of the critical area due to the expansion of and improper design and installation of power facilities. In this situation, the exceeded ampacity (allowable current) above the critical value caused by the operating current initiates the deterioration processes of power cables. In order to systematically monitor power cables operating at power stations, we have developed the first device of its kind in Korea. In this paper, we present the analyzed characteristics of expected temperatures of cables based on the load current of high-voltage cables operating at Korean Western Power Co. Ltd. We can predict the lifetime of cables by analyzing the temperature obtained from our device.
