As concrete structures are heated, thermal strain can be developed. Because of the boundary conditions, the thermal stress may be arisen. Thermal strain and temperature were measured simultaneously using an optical fiber sensor. Fiber Bragg Grating Sensor(FBG sensor) was used in the measurement. Because it can measure the strains more than two points with one line, it was possible to measure both thermal strain and temperature with one line. To compare data measured by FBG sensor, strain and temperature were measured using strain gauge and thermocouple. The FBG sensor could measure the strain under the temperature greater than $60^{\circ}C$ but strain gauge couldn't. Both the FBG temperature sensor and thermocouple could measure the temperature and the results are related each other linearly.
It is important to measure the somatic informations for stockbreeding automatization. This study was carried out for the development of wireless measurement system of temperature in living animals. New method to measure somatic temperature was developed using the single-channel wireless instrument. This system was constructed by oscillator, temperature sensor, wireless transmitter and receiver circuit, single processing circuit, and microcomputer. Two types of sensor were used and compared to measure the temperature. The thermistor sensor was more sensitive and accurate than platinum resistance sensor, however both sensors were performed efficiently. The single-channel wireless measurement systems developed could measure the somatic temperature successfully and offered a versatile system.

This paper describes a design of a tactile sensor, which can measure three components force and temperature due to thermal conductive. The bio-mimetic tactile sensor, alternative to human's finger, is comprised of four micro force sensors and four thermal sensors, and its size being 10mm$\times$10mm. Each micro force sensor has a square membrane, and its force range is 0.1N - 5N in the three-axis directions. On the other hand, the thermal sensor for temperature measurement has a heater and four temperature sensor elements. The thermal sensor is designed to keep the temperature. $36.5^{\circ}C$, constant, like human skin, and measure the temperature $0^{\circ}C$ to $50^{\circ}C$. The MEMS technology is applied to fabricate the sensing element of the tactile sensor.
This study has compared the two types of systems which measure the temperature of coal powder in feeder lines of boiler and analyzed operating data. We used RTD(Resistance Temperature Detector) and optic sensors to measure the temperature. From the characteristic comparison of data, field test and system operation, we confirm that the latter is more efficient than the former.
A small temperature sensor is designed in a 0.35um CMOS process. Transistors operating in the intermediate inversion region are employed in the core of the sensor. This temperature sensor operates in $-50^{\circ}C{\sim}120^{\circ}C$ with ${\pm}2^{\circ}C$ of accuracy after two-point calibration. This temperature sensor can be placed in the active pixel area of a display panel to measure the temperature of the display panel for temperature compensation.

In sensor network systems, all the nodes are interconnected and the positional information of each sensor is essential. To measure the temperature, position detection and communication functions are required. Many sensor nodes are distributed to a measurement field, and these sensors have three main functions: they measure the distance to the other nodes, the data of which are used to determine the position of each node; they communicate with other nodes; and they measure the temperature of each node. A novel range measurement method using the difference between light and sound propagation speed is proposed. The experimental results show the temperature distribution as measured with the aid of the determined positions. The positions of every node were calculated with a PC program. Eight nodes were manufactured and their fundamental functions were tested. The results of the range measurement method, which takes relatively accurate measurements, contribute significantly to the accuracy of the position determination. Future studies will focus on 3-D position determination and on the architecture of appropriate sensors and actuators.

This paper presents the design and manufacturing of a sensor using SAW and delay line in order to measure temperature. SAW sensors having single and double electrodes are manufactured on the $128^{\circ}YX-LiNbO_3$ substrate, and its process is addressed. Before manufacturing, the device is simulated using a commercial finite element program. The frequency responses of the saw sensor on the temperature change is measured. Since the center frequency on the temperature change from $-30^{\circ}C$ to $80^{\circ}C$ is linearly changed, the saw sensor is applicable to measure the temperature change or strain variation.

In this study, two different technologies which can measure temperature simultaneously at many points are introduced. One is to use a thermal sensor cable that is comprised of addressable thermal sensors connected in parallel within a single cable. The other is to use an optic fiber with Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) system. The difference between two technologies can be summarized as follows. A thermal sensor cable has a concept of 'point sensing' that can measure temperature at accurate position of a thermal sensor. So the accuracy and resolution of temperature measurement are up to the ability of the thermal sensor. Whereas optic fiber sensor has a concept of 'distributed sensing' because temperature is measured by ratio of Stokes and anti-Stokes component intensities of Raman backscatter that is generated when laser pulse travels along an optic fiber. It's resolution is determined by measuring distance, measuring time and spatial resolution. The purpose of this study is that application targets of two temperature measurement techniques are checked in technical and economical phases by examining the strength and weakness of them. Considering the functions and characteristics of two techniques, the thermal sensor cable will be suitable to apply to the assessment of groundwater flow, geothermal distribution and grouting efficiency within 300m distance. It is expected that the optic fiber sensor can be widely utilized at various fields (for example: pipe line inspection, tunnel fire detection, power line monitoring etc.) which need an information of temperature distribution over relatively long distance.

The development of modern civilization result from the abundance of material. Yet modern people live with chronic mild stress. Excessive chronic mild stress leads to various diseases. From the risk of the disease in order to protect our bodies need to manage chronic mild stress. The purpose of this study is to inspection the effectiveness of detecting in chronic mild stress using the Multi-sensor system. The Multi-sensor system is designed that can be measure three kinds of vital signals of chronic mild stress for the detection. First Photoplethysmogram(PPG), second Electro Dermal Activity(EDA), third Skin Temperature(SKT). The ages and occupations exposed to chronic mild stress, people often use out of this system was applied to dairy products(Pen). In addition, vital signals that occur when the variety of noise was used to remove the accelerometer. Chronic mild stress by the analysis of measured vital signals from Multi-sensor system to the measurement information to a PC to a wireless transmission(Bluetooth). In this study, using Multi-sensor system writing conditions and a variety of situations in the movement to measure vital signals and measurement results verified the accuracy and reliability. Through this measure chronic mild stress in everyday life and managing to maintain will help more healthy lifestyle.

Multiple fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) have been proposed and demonstrated for gas-flow measurements in a flow channel, using the temperature-difference method. This sensor consists of two FBG temperature sensors and two coil heaters. Coil heaters are used to heat the FBGs. The flow rate of the gas can be obtained by monitoring the difference in the Bragg-wavelength shifts of the two FBGs, which has features that exclude the effect of temperature fluctuations. In this study, experiments are conducted to measure the wavelength shift based on the flow rate, and to evaluate the gas-flow rate in a gas tube. Experimental results show that the sensor has a linear characteristic over a flow-rate range from 0 to 25 ℓ/min. The measured sensitivity of the sensor is 3.2 pm/(ℓ/min) at a coil current of 120 mA.
