A Design and Implementation of ALE-compliant RFID Middleware System (ALE 기반 RFID 미들웨어 설계 및 구현)

  • Nowadays, to realize ubiquitous computing environment, many research activities have been going on within various kinds of research domains including automatic identification sensor network, home network, telematics and so on. Especially, RFID middleware that supports the aggregation of RFID tag data, control and management, and the integration with legacy systems has recently gained a lot of attention. Meanwhile, EPCglobal defined an ALE(Application Level Events) standard specification, which exists between RFID readers and applications, and substitutes the previous systems called Savant. In the specification internal structures and implementation technologies of ALE are not mentioned and only external interfaces are defined. This approach easies the verification of standard compliance and inter-operability of the layer. In this paper, we present the design of ALE-compliant RFID middleware systems that process RFID tag data efficiently.

  • RFID technology of Ubiquitous core technology was used the local parts of Traceability System in past, but the various parts of u-Healthcare, Home networks, Telematics, and etc. in today on the one hand, according to be interested in the home networks technology and develope it, we are searching about how to apply RFID technology in home networks. This paper is designed and implemented the system delivered tag information to the application of home networks and controled RFID reader remotely by the bundle implemented RFID reader process methods based OSGi framework platforms.

  • Ubiquitous computing which is called, the innovation of the 21st Century is a core technology of next generation. RFID technology is noticed, and physical distribution, home network, telematics, like industry automatization are developed by using various technique. Particulary, They use RFID technology for fashion and beauty industry, So, supplying network management, physical distribution management and warehouse management are investigated for the automatization. What we have investigated so far, a traceability system is made of ubiquitous sensor network for monitoring fashion and beauty industry environment. The proposed system using EPC network can provide information of industrial products traceability quickly and efficiently. Moreover, this system with RFID Technology gives intelligence of distribution and record. In this paper, We recommend the vision of Ubiquitous convergence of fashion and beauty industry.

Performance Analysis of Wireless Communications between Tag and Reader in EPCglobal Gen-2 RFID System (EPCglobal Gen-2 RFID 시스템 태그와 리더간의 무선 전송 방식 성능 분석)

  • In this paper, we analyze the performance of the encoding and the modulation processes in the downlink and uplink of the EPCglobal Gen-2 system through the analysis and simulation. Furthermore, the synchronization issues on time and frequency domain and the preamble architecture are evaluated. By incorporating the encoding and the modulation technigue in the downlink and uplink, we assess the performance of the EPCglobal Gen-2 system. We also introduce the encoding and backscatter modulation process as well as the BER performance of FM0 code. In addition, the importance and the role of the frequency and time synchronization, such as the preamble and frame synchronization are explained. Through the simulation in the uplink on the detection probability through preamble, we find that the detection probability approaches 1 for 13 dB $E_b/N_0$.

A Low Power Consumption 2.4 GHz Transceiver MMIC (저전력소모2.4 GHz 송수신 MMIC)

  • A low power concumption 2.4 GHz one-chip transceiver MMIC was designed and fabricated using $1.0\mu\textrm{m}$ ion-implantation MESFET process and packaged on a 24 lead SSOP. In the transmitter mode, it revealed conversion gain of 7.5 dB, output IP3 of -3.5 dBm, and noise figure of 3.9 dB at 2.44 GHz with 3.9 mA current consumption. In the receiver mode, it revealed voltage sensitivity of 6.5 mV/$\mu\$W with 2 .0 mA current consumption. Comparing the fabricated MMIC with the results of MMICs reported elsewhere, it was shown that the fabricated MMIC had good performance. The low power consumption 2.4 GHz transceiver MMIC is expected to be used for various applications such as wireless local area networks, wireless local loops and RFID tags in ISM-band.

  • 전파 자원은 국가의 무형 자산으로서 자원이 한정되어 있는 반면에 이에 대한 수요가 급증하면서 전파 자원의 가치가 점점 높아지고 있다. 특히 국내의 경우 IT839 전략으로 추진 중인 WiBro(Wireless Broadband), DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting), Home Network, Telematics(Telecommunication Informatics), WCDMA(Wide Code Division Multiple Access), RFID/USN(Radio Frequency Identification/Ubiquitous Sensor Network) 등 무선 주파수를 이용하는 새로운 서비스가 증가하면서 주파수 자원에 대한 중요성은 더욱 강조되고 있다. 종래의 전파 정책이 정부가 정책을 세우고 이를 관리하는 Command-and-Control 위주였다면, 향후의 전파 정책은 OpYN1020en Spectrum 정책으로 전환될 것으로 전망된다. 본 고에서는 전파 자원의 효율적인 이용을 도모하는 일반적인 CR(Cognitive Radio) 기술에 대하여 언급하고, 이를 이동성이 없는 고정 환경에 적용하기 위한 IEEE 802.22 WRAN 시스템의 물리계층 전송 규격 사양, 프레임구조 및 현재 논의되고 있는 기술에 대하여 논의한다.

  • In ubiquitous spatial computing environments, GeoSensor generates sensor data streams including spatial information as well as various conventional sensor data from RFID, WSN, Web CAM, Digital Camera, CCTV, and Telematics units. This GeoSensor enables the revitalization of various ubiquitous USN technologies and services on geographic information. In order to service the u-GIS applications based on GeoSensors, it is indispensable to efficiently process sensor data streams from GeoSensors of a wide area. In this paper, we propose a GeoSensor data stream processing system for u-GIS computing over real-time stream data from GeoSensors with geographic information. The proposed system provides efficient gathering, storing, and continuous query processing of GeoSensor data stream, and also makes it possible to develop diverse u-GIS applications meet each user requirements effectively.
