This study presents the useful information for manufacturing industry-based development strategies at which Kangwondo province should aim, using the existing survey materials, interviews, and questionnaires. To analyze the technological competitive level of major eight enterprises in Kangwondo province, a synthetic evaluation has been conducted for areas such as new technology development, product development, production technology, and technological competitiveness. The study reveals that, among the technological competitiveness related factors, the managing status of business results, comparing analysis of business results, the applications of industrial property right, the registration of industrial property right, and the domestic and foreign certification show lower level than the other factors.
Bitcoin and blockchain are often making headlines not only on TV or media but also among the public in today's society. These technologies have been developed after the risk of the centralized financial system came to the fore during the 2007 global financial crisis. Since then, an anonymous inventor called Satoshi Nakamoto penned the bitcoin white paper where a blockchain-based reference implementation was introduced. Bitcoin was able to achieve unprecedented growth by positioning itself as one of the top global currencies in terms of market capitalization after five years since its development. The pace of Vietnam's economic development is notably fast among Asian nations, while the nation was expected to be a Southeast Asian blockchain hub but they have banned virtual currency trading recently. However, they've also designated the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) as a responsible agency for the research of blockchain-based cryptocurrencies, the construction of a service ecosystem, and their test operations. The fast-growing economy, increasing number of smartphone users, and the Vietnam government's support policies for startups substantiate these efforts. Therefore, this paper attempts to study the current status of Vietnam's blockchain technology that has been considered to be the center of blockchain systems right behind Singapore, and its implications for Korean companies.

This dissertation is presented in two major parts. The first part presented in Chapter 3 attempts to verify the major hypothesis of the present study that the research and development laboratories(hereafter referred to R&D laboratories), establishd withine industrial firms to develop new technologies needed for their own industrial activities, may have another but very important functions to bring information on the externally generated technologies to attention of their respective management decision makers, eventually resulting in the transfer of technology; and such information functions of the R&D laboratories may be better performed by well-organised laboratories than by poorly-organised ones. The second part presented in Chapters 4, 5, 6 and 7 discusses, after the preceding hypotheses has been verified, some desirable situations of the R&D laboratories in facilitating the flow of information on new technologies developed in the world into their industrial firms, centering on the organisational positions and the major fields of interest of the person in charge of the R&D centers, services of the library and technological information office supporting the R&D laboratories, and frequencies of direct contacts of research and development workers with experts in the world and of participation in various conferences, seminars, workshops, exhibitions, etc. Now that there is no recognised instrument and method available for direct measurement of volume of technological information transfered into a particular industrial firm, the number of technologies introduced into a given firm is employed in the present study as an analogous parametre indicating volume of technological information transfered into the firm during a particular period of time. A logical attempt to justify the use of the indirect paramentre is made in Chapter two. vidences needed to verify the hypotheses of the present study are collected through the various publications of the Korea Industrial Research Institutes and other agencies and institutions related to industrial research activities, and through responses to the questionnaire posted to a sample of the 66 R&D laboratories on 6 May 1987 and returned by 30 August of the same year. Some findings and conclusions made in the study are summarised as follows: (1) More information on externally developed technologies flows into the industrial firm with a R&D laboratory of its own than into the industrial firm without one, and naturally, more chances of transfer of technologies are given to the former than to the latter (see 3. 2) (2) After establishing an R&D laboratory, more technological information flows into the industrial firm than before establishing one (see 3. 3) (3) More technological information flows into the industrial firm with a well-organised R&D laboraory than into the firm with a poorly-organised one (see 3. 4) (4) More technological information flows into the ndustrial firm where the director of its R&D laboratory has status qualified to participate in the highest managerial decision making processes of the firm than into the industrial firm where the director does not have such status (see 4. 2) (5) More technological information flows into the industrial firm where the director of R&D laboratory does not hold other positions within the firm than into the industrial firm where the director holds other positions (see 4.3) (6) There is evidence showing that quantities of technological information transfered into industriali firms vary with the case that the major background of the director of the R&D laboratory is the same as the main field of R&D activities of his or her laboratery, the case that the director's background is partly related to the field of R&D activities of the laboratory, and the case that the director's major background is different from the field of R&D activities of the laboratory (see 4.4) (7) More technological information flows into the industrial firm with the director of its R&D laboratory appointed from among professional research and development workers than into the industrial firm with the director of its R&D laboratory appointed from among general managers (see 4.5) (8) More technological information flows into the industrial firm with its R&D laboratory which has established a library service unit within its own jurisdiction than into the industrial firm with its R&D laboratory which has established a library service unit within its own jurisdiction than into the industrial firm with its R&D laboratory which uses a library within the firm but outside the laboratory (see 5. 1) (9) More echnological information flows into the industrial firm with a technological information office of its own than into the industrial firm without such an office (see 5. 2) (10) More technological information flows into the industrial firm with a large research and development staff in its R&D laboratory than into the industrial firm with a small staff in its R&D laboratory (see 5. 2) (11) More technological information flows into the industrial firm with its R&D laboratory whose staff members more frequently contact experts in the conferences, seminars, symposiums, and workshops held in foreign countries and novelties in the world's major exhibitions than into the industrial firm with its R&D laboratory whose staff members less frequently contact such experts and novelties (see 6. 2 ; 6. 3)
Many economists and policymakers regard the ratio of R&D investment to GNP to be a good indicator of a nation's technological capabilities. Consequently, their major policy recommendation to promote technological development is a rapid expansion in R&D investment. However, a low R&D ratio does not necessarily mean less efforts at technological advancement since the composition of technologies to be developed varies depending upon the stage of economic development. Technology policy to improve the international competitiveness of domestic industries should be based on the stage of economic development and present technological status rather than on a simple comparison with advanced countries. At Korea's stage of development, maximizing the efficiency of R&D investment is more important than enlarging the size of the investment. Strategic alliances between domestic firms and foreign enterprises should be encouraged to save time and costs involved in acquiring new technologies and learning how to use them. The government should establish institutional devices to stimulate private enterprises to internationalize their business activities such as R&D, production, and marketing. The government should also promote the development of domestic and international R&D networks, which can serve as the infrastructure for technological innovations.

This study empirically investigated the influence of entrepreneurship and technological commercialization capabilities of domestic small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises on financial performance by mediating technological performance. To achieve this, a survey was administered to their hands-on workers in charge of R&D. The survey results were analyzed through the structural equation model as follows. Entrepreneurship had an effect on technological and financial performance. Technology commercialization capability had an effect on technological performance. However, technological commercialization capabilities were evaluated to be inferior to financial performance, which can be interpreted as financial performance being judged as different between individuals or organizations in terms of technological commercialization capabilities. Technological performance had an effect on financial performance. Technological performance played a mediating role in the effects of entrepreneurship and technology commercialization capability on financial performance. Consequently, it is very important for entrepreneurship and technology commercialization capability to develop new products and improve corporate performance with insufficient financial status or operating system completion.

Caring is the essential and universal concept of underlying nursing. Exactly how caring attributes relate to nurses' perception in the context of a contemporary technological environment have yet to be operationlized. In total. 560 Registered Nurses from 5 different university hospitals were involved in this study which aimed to : investigate technological influence and caring attributes as perceived by nurse. Data were obtained using Technological Influence Questionnaire (TIQ) and Caring Attributes Questionnaires(CAQ) which developed by Arthur et al(1999). Data were analyzed using SAS program for frequency. t-test. ANOVA and Tukey's Studentized Range test. and Pearson correlation coefficients. The results were as follows : 1) The mean score of TIQ was 48.84 and special unit nurses' TIQ was higher than that of general ward nurses. 2) The mean score of CAQ was 237.02 and it showed significant differences in the following variables : age. religion. educational background. marital status. career, and position. 3) With regard to the mean item score of CAQ by 3 perspectives : theoretical perspectives score was 3.76. practical perspectives score was 4.03, and pedagogical perspectives score was 3.84. 4) The correlation between TIQ score and CAQ score was slightly moderate (r=.35), The CAQ mean scsre was significantly different accordig to the level of TIQ meen score. The CAQ mean score was $247.19(\pm18.17)$ in high TIQ(>mean+1SD) group, $236.21(\pm19.71)$ In moderate $TIQ(between\;mean{\pm}1SD) $ group, and $228.47(\pm18.07)$ in low TIQ( (mean-1SD) group. In conclusion, nurses perceived the CAQ differently by several demographic characteristics which relating to age. religion, eduacational background. marital status. career. and position. This study provides an important message for administrators and nurse educators by highlighting factors which can be addressed by education programs. staff development and appraisal. Further research is necessary to improve and refine the Korean version of TIQ and CAQ instead of Arthur et al's scales directly to Korean nurses.
As the smart phone market grows rapidly, the significance of the application (app) market also increases. The purposes of this study were to identify market segments according to technological innovativeness and clothing involvement, and to compare the differences in lifestyles, benefits of fashion information app sought, and intention to use. The data were collected from smart phone users in their 10s to 30s in 2013, and a total of 292 data sets were analyzed. The findings of this study were as follows. The respondents were divided into three groups, innovative group, clothing involvement group, and passive group. Significant differences were found among three segments in terms of age, marital status, education level, and monthly income. With respect to five lifestyle factors, innovative group and clothing involvement group had higher mean scores for rational purchase, personal relationship, and personality pursuit than passive group. However, these two groups showed differences in brand pursuit factor. The benefits of the fashion information app were generated into two factors, information benefit and enjoyment benefit. Innovative group and clothing involvement group had higher values than passive group in these two factors. Finally, innovative group had the highest value on the intention to use fashion information app. This study attempts to provide fundamental information about the potential market segment for managers or marketers developing fashion information apps.

Soft rot is a widespread, catastrophic disease caused by Pectobacterium carotovorum subsp. carotovorum (Pcc) that severely damages the production of Amorphophallus spp. This study evaluated the rhizosphere bacterial and fungal communities in Pcc-infected and uninfected plants of two species of Amorphophallus, A. muelleri and A. konjac. Principal component analysis showed that the samples formed different clusters according to the Pcc infection status, indicating that Pcc infection can cause a large number of changes in the bacterial and fungal communities in the Amorphophallus spp. rhizosphere soil. However, the response mechanisms of A. muelleri and A. konjac are different. There was little difference in the overall microbial species composition among the four treatments, but the relative abundances of core microbiome members were significantly different. The relative abundances of Actinobacteria, Chloroflexi, Acidobacteria, Firmicutes, Bacillus, and Lysobacter were lower in infected A. konjac plants than in healthy plants; in contrast, those of infected A. muelleri plants were higher than those in healthy plants. For fungi, the relative abundances of Ascomycota and Fusarium in the rhizosphere of infected A. konjac plants were significantly higher than those of healthy plants, but those of infected A. muelleri plants were lower than those of healthy plants. The relative abundance of beneficial Penicillium fungi was lower in infected A. konjac plants than in healthy plants, and that of infected A. muelleri plants was higher than that of healthy plants. These findings can provide theoretical references for further functional research and utilization of Amorphophallus spp. rhizosphere microbial communities in the future.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to describe technological development, caring attributes and professional self-concept as perceived by nurses in YanBian. Method: Data were collected using an instrument containing 137 Likert items was administered to 477 RN's working in general hospitals in YanBian. The instrument contained sections which examined technological influences questionnaire(TIQ), caring attributes questionnaire(CAQ), and professional self-concept nursing inventory(PSCNI). Result: Descriptive and inferential statistics revealed by marital status and position. Married, working special ward nurses reported a higher TIQ score than that of unmarried and working general ward and OPD. PSCNI and CAQ score of head or supervisor nurses were higher than that of staff nurses. Subjects revealed very low score of CAQ, while PSCNI score was higher than that of other Asian countries such as Korea, Beijing China, HongKong China and Japan as proved in former study. Conclusion: Useful information for educators and nurse administrators is provided from this results. Further study needs to be done to discuss in the light of cultural and environmental differences between YanBian(Korean-Chinese) and Korean nurses.
