Mutual Recognition Agreement(MRA) between national metrology institutes is started on October 1999 and International Key Comparison is essentially to be used as technical basis for the agreement. High resistance is one of the Key Comparison and high resistance measurement system is established in KRISS for the purpose of the Key Comparison. Total combined uncertainty of the system is about 4ppm in $10M{\Omega}$ and 8ppm in $1G{\Omega}$. With the system, the difference of comparison results for $10M{\Omega}$ and $1G{\Omega}$ among KRISS, VNIIM in Russia and NIM in China is agreed about 6ppm within total combined uncertainty of three institutes.

This study surveyed standardization activities of the International Standard Organization (ISO) Technical Committee 159 (TC 159) (ergonomics) in the year 2008. The subcommittee 1 (SC 1) dealing with general ergonomics principles produced one committee draft (CD). The subcommittee 3 (SC 3) dealing with anthropometry and biomechanics systematically reviewed two ISO standards issued in 2003 and 2004 respectively. The subcommittee 4 (SC 4) dealing with ergonomics of human system interaction issued 11 final draft international standards (FDIS), 3 draft international standards (DIS), 4 CDs, and 4 new work item proposals (NWIP). The SC 4 also systematically reviewed 10 international standards due on the year 2008. The subcommittee 5 (SC 5) dealing with ergonomics of the physical environment issued one FDIS, 3 CDs, and one NWIP. This paper summarized the major features of the FDIS approved by each subcommittee of TC 159 for publication in the year 2008.

This study aimed to ascertain whether electronic courses at the deanship of electronic learning and distance education at Umm Al-Qura University meet the quality standards developed by the Quality Matters (QM) organization. This endeavor adopted a mixed method of an explanatory sequential research design for an in-depth understanding of the topic under scrutiny. The sample of the study consisted of ten courses designed at the deanship and reviewed using an evaluation form. The results showed that the courses in focus did not meet the criteria of QM. Based on this finding, a semi-structured interview was designed to collect relevant data from the syllabus designers at the deanship. The interviews yielded information on the difficulties the course designers faced when designing QM-criteria-based courses. The results obtained from the interviews showed that the designers experienced administrative, technical, and faculty-member-related challenges that, when producing online courses, intercepted their way to achieving the QM standards. The study closed with some recommendations, the most important of which is a call for re-developing online courses in alignment with the well-recognized QM standards.

This paper describes how industry has responded to the environmental challenge. Benefits include compliance with environmental legislation; genuine reductions to environmental impact; sustainable improvements to profitability in the face of increased competitive pressure. National and international Standards for environmental management offer security and direction for a company wishing to improve environmental performance and coupled with a waste minimisation strategy many financial and environmental benefits can be achieved. Introduction of new technical skills, techniques and worker understanding to aid motivation is an essential component of such a strategy. Monitoring and targeting has a key role to play in the establishment of improved environmental performance.

The study of the compatibility of EPUB DRM, granted by the Korea Copyright Commission, as a CT R & D project (Project Title: The Development of the standard reference software technology for International Standard EPUB-based eBook DRM) developed standards such as profile standards for encryption digital signature and authentication certificates and standards for technical terms of rights information. In 2012, these four standards have been established as the Korean Industrial Standards under the names of 'Encryption specification for EPUB DRM,' 'the Digital signature specification for EPUB DRM,' 'the Certificate specification for EPUB DRM,' and 'Definitions of Right Terms for EPUB DRM' through the ODPF(Open Digital Standardization Forum) and the TTA(Telecommunications Technology Association). The research project also proposed standards of ebook DRM license protocols in order for the four standards to practically apply to ebook DRM compatibility. It is necessary for technology standards to require a compatibility standard test process for testing whether implementations which were developed on the basis of the standard specification, comply with standards. This study suggests an automated compatible standard test method and a test model under the ebook DRM standard technical specification.

To prevent serious maritime accident and eliminate the cause of the potential maritime accidents, Maritime Safety Audit Scheme was formally institutionalized through amendment of Maritime Traffic Safety Act(May 27, '09). At the initial step of the enforcement of the law, it has risen the necessity of amending the present institution concerning with the range of applicable business, method of practice, detailed technical standards in the assessment articles, etc. Among them, the assessment of marine traffic congestion has been practiced as a mandatory assessment article, but it is analyzed that the assessment doesn't reflect current variation of ships' size and its speed. By analyzing the status of assessments on marine traffic congestion so far and collecting experts' opinion, this paper suggests draft amendments to improve technical standards on the assessment of marine traffic congestion.

There are about 40,000 chemicals used in Korea and 300 new types of chemicals are added to the list every year, influencing quality of air, soil and water. Water quality standards that serve as the basis for water quality management have been proved inefficient and insufficient compared to those of advanced countries. This study aims to improve the existing water quality standards. Most importantly, the water quality standards need to take into account not only protection of human health but also aquatic resources. To that end, water quality criteria need to be set by monitoring each watershed every year and conducting risk assessment. Criteria for human health are set at $10^{-6}$ cancer risk level, and for aquatic life at conservative level, adopting the methodology of the U.S. and Australia, respectively. After carrying out technical and economic feasibility studies, more conservative criteria will be used to decide final water quality standards. The development of this system to establish integrated water quality standards for both human health and aquatic resources protection is urgently needed.
