Detection and Diagnosis Solutions for Fault-Tolerant VSI

  • This paper presents solutions for fault detection and diagnosis of two-level, three phase voltage-source inverter (VSI) topologies with IGBT devices. The proposed solutions combine redundant standby VSI structures and contactors (or relays) to improve the fault-tolerant capabilities of power electronics in applications with safety requirements. The suitable combination of these elements gives the inverter the ability to maintain energy processing in the occurrence of several failure modes, including short-circuit in IGBT devices, thus extending its reliability and availability. A survey of previously developed fault-tolerant VSI structures and several aspects of failure modes, detection and isolation mechanisms within VSI is first discussed. Hardware solutions for the protection of power semiconductors with fault detection and diagnosis mechanisms are then proposed to provide conditions to isolate and replace damaged power devices (or branches) in real time. Experimental results from a prototype are included to validate the proposed solutions.

  • The effects of insecticide dimilin including the technical grade(tg) and wettable power(wp-25), inhibiting the synthesis of chitin in the cuticle of insect larvae, and herbicides alachlor and atrazine on the development of shrimp caridina denticulata denticulata were investigated in various concentrations. This species is abundant in the freshwater such as river and pond. The shrimp larvae were reared at dimilin solutions(tg and wp 2), alachlor solutions, and atrazin solutions. the concentrations of dimiline were 0, 1, 5, 10 and 25 ppb dimilin solutions, and those of alachlor and atrazin were 0, 1, 5, 10 and 25ppm, respectively.mortality was high at 10 ppb when the larvae were exposed to dimilin and at 25ppm in the case of alachlor and atranzine solutions. If lethal concentration is defined as a concentration in which less than 10% of larvae to the post larval stage from hatching it can be concluded that the lethal concentration of dimilin is 5ppb, and that of alachlor and atrazin is 25 ppm.

  • As the manufacturing capacity needs for large size LCD TV shifts very fast into next generation, processing and test equipment makers face more difficult challenges in accommodating productivity, reliability and lead time of panel makers as well as the prerequisite of high process quality. In this paper, AKT will discuss its new innovative productivity solutions in PECVD (Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition), as the key thin film process system, and EBT (Electron Beam Test), as the key array test system, for the huge glass size with surface dimension larger than 2 meter by 2 meter.

Application of cherry laurel seeds activated carbon as a new adsorbent for Cr(VI) removal

  • A novel activated carbon produced from cherry laurel (Laurocerasus officinalisRoem.) seeds (CLSAC) by chemical activation with ZnCl2 was used as an adsorbent to remove Cr(VI) ions from aqueous solutions. CLSAC was characterized by several techniques and the adsorption experiments were performed in a batch model adsorption technique. The effects of various experimental parameters were investigated as a function of solution pH, contact time, initial Cr(VI) concentration, CLSAC concentration, and temperature. The monolayer adsorption capacity of CLSAC was found to be 41.67 mg g-1 for 5.0 g L-1 of CLSAC concentration and, it was concluded that CLSAC can be used as an effective adsorbent for removal of Cr(VI) from waters and wastewaters.

  • In order to manage the wet end chemistry on paper machines, our goal is to control sub-processes through which we can influence the entire wet end operations with maximum effect. The most important sub-processes are: consistency, ash, and chemistry. The management of these three main groups is based on on-line maesurements and automatic control. This paper presents a new wet end management platform, a new analyzer. This new analyzer utilizes a modular structure and modem software. It is part of a new paper machine concept. The controls of this concept are feedback and feedforward solutions that control retention, consistencies, ash, and charge, resulting in a more stable wet end (30...80%), more uniform paper, and better rnnability.

Analytical solutions of in-plane static problems for non-uniform curved beams including axial and shear deformations

  • Exact analytical solutions for in-plane static problems of planar curved beams with variable curvatures and variable cross-sections are derived by using the initial value method. The governing equations include the axial extension and shear deformation effects. The fundamental matrix required by the initial value method is obtained analytically. Then, the displacements, slopes and stress resultants are found analytically along the beam axis by using the fundamental matrix. The results are given in analytical forms. In order to show the advantages of the method, some examples are solved and the results are compared with the existing results in the literature. One of the advantages of the proposed method is that the high degree of statically indeterminacy adds no extra difficulty to the solution. For some examples, the deformed shape along the beam axis is determined and plotted and also the slope and stress resultants are given in tables.

게임 서비스 침해유형에 따른 기술적 대응방안 연구 (The Study of Information Security Technologies for Security Incidents in Online Game Service)

  • 본 연구에서는 최근 급속한 속도로 발전하고 있는 게임 산업에 비하여 상대적으로 미진한 상태에 있는 게임 서비스에 관한 정보보호 기술 연구를 진행하였다. 연구수행을 위하여 현재 온라인으로 서비스되고 게임들을 대상으로 침해현황을 조사하여 이를 유형별로 분류하였다. 정리된 게임 서비스 침해유형에 따라 서비스 침해를 발생시키는 원인을 분석하여 이를 해결할 수 있는 기술적 방안을 설계한 다음 현재 제공되고 있는 게임 서비스로의 적용가능성을 검증하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 게임 서비스 보호를 위한 연구의 방향성을 제시함과 동시에 게임 서비스를 포함하는 일반 응용소프트웨어에 대한 정보보호 기술개발에도 적용될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

형광증백제가 종이 셀룰로오스의 화학적 열화특성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Optical Brightening Agent on the Chemical Degradation Characteristics of Paper Cellulose)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effects of optical brightening agents (OBA) on the chemical degradation characteristics of paper cellulose during humid heating aging. Three different types of OBAs were applied to a filter paper by dipping it in OBA solutions whose concentrations were controlled to 1% and 2%. The filter papers with an OBA were artificially aged at $80^{\circ}C$ and 65% RH, and the changes in pH of paper and viscosity of cellulose were evaluated. Their functional groups were also analyzed by ATR-FTIR (at-tenuated total reflectance fourier transform infrared spectroscopy). It was found that OBAs influenced the chemical degradation of paper cellulose during humid heating aging. Higher concentration of OBA solutions accelerated the degradation of paper cellulose. Especially, after aging for 12 days, the paper cellulose treated with the tetra-type OBA were the most significantly aged among the three types of OBAs. It was assumed that pH of OBA solutions affected the aging characteristics.

  • 지오이드 모델링에 필요한 기준면으로 사용되는 여러가지 지오포텐셜모델들을 시험하여 한반도 주변의 최적기준면을 결정하고자 하였다. 시험은 지오포텐셜모델들로부터 계산된 중력이상과 실제측정한 중력 이상의 차를 검토하였으며, 지오포텐셜모델들간의 중력이상과 지오이드고의 차를 비교·검토하였다. 또한 GPS 측량데이타로부터 계산된 지오이드고와 지오포텐셜모델로부터 계산된 지오이드고를 검토하였다. 시험결과 OSU91A 모델이 한반도 주변에서의 기준면으로 적합하다는 것을 알 수 있었다.
