Presently means of utilizing sensors such as Piezoelectric(PZT) Element for evaluating the affect of oscillator, strain gauge for analyzing physical changes and use of Fiber Bragg Grating(FBG) Sensor are widely practiced in the field. In this study, PZT and FBG sensors were used to tearing damage of cable systems in these sensors. Cable systems are a construction of elements carrying only tension and no compression or bending in membrane structure. But damage detection of cable systems by using existing safety diagnosis is difficult to detect the characteristic change of overall structural action. If cable snaps are occurred to cable release and tear in tension structures, these are set up a vibration. So, we used piezo-electric materials and result of experiment using this was compared with result of experiment using FBG sensors The purpose of this research is to develop of damage detection method of cable system in tensile stress.
As the result(also after it's been carried out the damping force test with 800ea lateral dampers of 50ea trainset from entering heavy maintenance workshop to implement heavy maintenance inspection cycle, there were 86.25%(650ea) which were out of $350kg{\pm}15%$ of the standard value of damping force compared to the reference value. After the implementation of heavy maintenance inspection cycle, it's been examined damping force test with total samples 32ea(samples 8ea per a trainset) from actual running EMU 4ea trainset. As the result, percent defective was 84.4%(27ea), which was a very high level. System. The lateral damper's the failure cause of damping force defective was oil leakage caused by tearing crack of oil seal and foreign material in oil iron 473 ~ 1932 times higher than that of new oil, copper 36 ~ 98 times higher than that of new oil reduced oil amount cycling damping valve. It resulted from the change cause of damping force. In the static analysis on the shape of lateral damper oil seal's the existing and improved product, the stress of the improved product was smaller than that of the existing product. In the fatigue analysis, the existing product showed a low life in the upper area. However, in case of the improved product, it could be confirmed that the destruction did not occur up to the specified 1.0e + 006 cycles and the lifetime was further improved in most areas.

Based upon the results of the previous work, the experiments are concentrated on the improvement of the durability of rubber coated fabrics as a rain garment material. To obtain a much lighter and durable coated fabric, several kinds of light weight cotton prints having almost equal density in warp and fillingwise were chosen. Rubber coating on these prints was made by topping and spreading process using rubber compound of various viscosity, and the physical properties of final product were analysed and interpreted in terms of adhesion and durability. The results are as follows. 1. Any noticeable difference between two coating processes was not found in terms of physical properties. 2. Base fabrics should be dipped once into a dilute rubber compound before coating operation in order to obtain a uniform adhesion and physical properties, and the optimum range of the viscosity of dipping paste are from 100 poise to 200 poise. 3. Generally, the tearing strength of the coated fabrics is inversely proportional to the adhesion. 4. It was assumed that the increase of the water proofness after water immersion on the finished material which have dense base fabric is chiefly due to the swelling of the cellulosic fiber.
The majority of esophageal Foreign body ingestions occur in the pediatric population. In adults, true foreign object ingestion occurs more commonly among those with psychiatric disorders, mental impairment. The management of esophageal foreign bodies is influenced by the age, clinical condition of ingested material, anatomic location and technical abilities of the endoscopist. Recently the therapeutic endoscopy is becoming wider and more rational in application. We evaluated the role of endoscopy for removal of esophageal foreign bodies during the period of 4 years from January 2000 to December 2003 at the Department of Otolaryngology and Gastroenterology, Seonam University Hospital. The results were as follow, 1) The age ranged from 21 to 74 years old (mean 50.5), most frequent age group was between 61-70 years old and male to female ratio was 1:1.4. 2) Fish bone was the most frequent foreign body in the esophagus ($47.1\%$), food material ($23.5\%$) and meats ($17.6\%$) were next frequent foreign bodies. The most frequent site of lodgement was the first ($78.4\%$), second ($17.6\%$) and third narrowing ($3.9\%$) in order. 3) The most common symptom was foreign body sensation (28.6%). the next common symptoms were chest discomfort($23.8\%$) and dysphagia($19\%$). 4) In duration of lodgement, 49cases ($96.1\%$) were lodged for less than one day. 5) The foreign bodies of esophagus were removed successfully by flexible endoscope with basket, snare, forceps, overtube and endoscopic variceal ligation cap. There were only 3 cases of minimal complications, esophageal mucosal tearing. In conclusion, endoscopic esophageal foreign body removal is useful and safe with minimal or no complications.
The purpose of this study was to assess the adhesion of resilient denture liners (such as, heat-cured silicone molloplast B,cold- cured silicone Mollosil) to polymethyl metacrylate (K-33) and metal (Megalloy) in the laboratory by peel test. The resilient denture lines were processed according to manufactures instruction, onto prepared specimens(original resin base plate, rough resin base plate, stippled metal plate, mesh metal plate ) 75mm long and 25m wide. And then, the peel test was performed by instron. The results were as follows : 1. The bonding strength of Mollosil was stronger than that of Molloplast B except the specimen of stippled metal plate. 2. The tensile strength of Mollosil was weaker than that of Molloplast Bas tearing of Mollosil was occured in the peel test. 3. Mesh metal plate had the highest bonding strength in the case of Molloplast B and Mollosil. But stippled metal plate have high bonding strength in the case of Molloplast B and have the lowest bonding strength in the case of Mollosil. 4. The bonding strength of rough resin base plate was stronger than that of original resin base plate in the case of Molloplast B and Mollosil. 5. The bonding strength of metal plates was stronger than that of resin base plates in the case of Molloplast B and Mollosil except the case of bonding strength between the stippled metal plate and Mollosil. 6. It seems that the Increase of surface and retention form of metal plate and resin base plate produces higher physical bonding strength.
The purpose of this paper studies the failure cases including with system of liquefied phase injection in liquified petroleum gas vehicle. The first case, resulting with inspection the injector of LPG, it occasionally certified the injection damage phenomenon that the fuel efficiency(km/l) was decreased to 5% by carbon deposit with injector hole when the driver operates the vehicle. The second case, it certified the interference phenomenon of air flow with carbon deposit in ISA system control for idle speed of engine and throttle body suppling air into engine. As a result, the fuel efficiency was decreased 7%. The third case, the outer air during intake stroke was intermittently flowed in this gasket gap because of weaken adhesion power phenomenon for cylinder block by intake manifold gasket tearing. Consequentially, it certified the decrease for fuel efficiency to 3% by risen the amount of fuel injection as the air inflow quantity. These failure examples reduced the power performance of engine and the fuel efficiency of vehicle. It have to minimize of failure phenomenon preparing through quality management.

It is important to compare and analyze digital camouflage from different countries to promote the continuous development of a camouflage combat uniform. This effort should lead to developing a camouflage pattern suitable for the domestic environment and expand its performance of night camouflage. This study investigates digital camouflage by comparing camouflage fabrics sampled from Korea and eight other countries (USA, UK, Singapore, Croatia, Colombia, and Mongolia) in terms of textile, near-infrared reflectivity of colors, and color distribution. First, the fabric construction of camouflage from Korea, UK, US, Singapore, Span, and Croatia were all characterized by derivative plain weaves, while derivative twill weaves were generally used in Croatia and Mongolia. It is assumed that derivative plain weaves are adopted to improve the tearing strength of fine yarns. However, twill weaves enhance the flexibility of coarse yarn fabrics. Next, reflectivity change was analyzed based on camouflage color. The reflectivity of a combat uniform in Korea, Colombia, Croatia, and UK increased before 780nm in the visible light range, but remained consistent from 800nm which falls under the near-infrared range. In contrast, camouflage samples in Mongolia, Span, Singapore and USA showed a gradual increase of reflectivity in the near-infrared range. Finally, the color distribution analysis of digital camouflage found that camouflage of countries with desert or woodland combat settings dominantly contained brown colors. It indicates the color pattern consideration of different geographic regions is important to determine camouflage performance. This research involves basic study that will have implications for developing patterns and colors suitable for the South Korean environment and expand its use as night camouflage that helps achieve continuous improved camouflage performance.
In order to study wearable air cushion materials capable of responding to massive impact in high-altitude fall situation, high tenacity woven fabrics were bonded by heat only depending on various type of thermoplastic films and then mechanical properties were measured. Tensile strength, elongation, and 100% modulus measurement results for 4 types of films show that TPU-2 has higher impact resistance and easier expansion than PET-1. After thermal bonding, the combination with the highest tensile strength was a material with a TPU-2 film for nylon and a PET-2 film for PET, so there was a difference by type of fabric. The tear strength of the bonded materials were increased compared to the fabric alone, which shows that durability against damage such as tearing can be obtained through film adhesion. All of the peel strengths exceeded the values required by automobile airbags by about 5 times, and the TPU-2 bonded fabric showed the highest value. The air permeability was 0 L/dm2 /min. For both the film and the bonded material, which means tightness between the fabric and the film through thermal bonding. It is expected to be applied as a wearable air cushion material by achieving a level of mechanical properties similar to or superior to that of automobile airbags through the method of bonding film and fabric by thermal bonding.

In this paper, a computational algorithm of an improved and versatile structural analysis applicable for large-size flexible nonlinear structures is developed. In more detail, nonlinear finite element based on the co-rotational (CR) framework is developed. Then, a finite element tearing and interconnecting method using local Lagrange multipliers (FETI-local) is combined with the nonlinear CR finite element. The resulting computational algorithm is presented and applied for nonlinear static analyses, i.e., cantilevered beam and multibody structure. Finally, the proposed analysis is evaluated with regard to its parallel computation performance, and it is compared with those obtained by serial computation using the sparse matrix linear solver, PARDISO.
Results of reoperation for tissue valve failure were presented with review of current knowledge. Through January 1986, 19 patients required reoperation: 18 had undergone mitral, 2 aortic, and 1 tricuspid valve. Primary tissue failure was the main cause of tissue valve failure: it occurred in 18 valves [15 mitral, 2 aortic, and 1 tricuspid] at a mean postoperative interval of 54-25 months [range 29-120]. During the same period, 2 patients required reoperation for prosthetic valve endocarditis, 1 for paravalvular leakage. The types of valves failed were 12 lonescu-Shiley valves, 5 Hancock valves, and 1 Carpentier-Edwards valve. All 6 patients younger than 15 years of age at first operation had been implanted with lonescu-Shiley valves and failed after a mean interval of 35 months. In contrast, 11 patients older than 15 years had been implanted with 5 Hancock, 6 lonescu-Shiley, and 1 Carpentier-Edwards valve initially, and eventually failed after mean intervals of 81, 53, 47 months each other. The kinds of valves used at reoperation were 8 lonescu-Shiley, 4 Bjork-Shiley, and 6 St. Jude Medical valves for primary tissue failure cases and 3 lonescu-Shiley valves for the other 3 cases. Overall mortality at reoperation was 10%: 5.6% for primary tissue failure, 50% for prosthetic valve endocarditis. In 15 cases [all mitral] primary tissue failure were caused by calcification associated with or without leaflet destruction or fibrous ingrowth, and in 2 cases [all aortic] caused by cusp perforation and tearing without any evidence of calcification. In conclusion: 1 primary tissue failure is the main cause of reoperation in patients with tissue valve failure; 2. the majority of the failed valves is in mitral position; 3. leaflet calcification is the leading pathology of primary tissue failure; 4, reoperation for tissue valve failure may be a major concern, although the mortality is low; 5. the limited durability of tissue valve suggests its use be restricted to selected cases.
