The United Kingdom is known for the quality of its qualifications. There is a strict quality system with reputable bodies responsible for ensuring that high quality standards are met. In order for new qualifications to be accredited, they must meet all the requirements set out in the regulations for the quality and informatization of Education. The crucial role of the Agency for Quality Assurance of Higher Education (QAA) in the UK for creating high-quality management of higher education institutions is revealed, the influence of informatization tools on its effective mechanism as an independent entity is shown, and positive experience for the educational sector is highlighted. While the universities themselves are responsible for reviewing educational programs at the subject level, the QAA review focuses on verifying internal quality assurance, as well as systems and improvement strategies. The QAA uses a peer review process in which teams mostly consist of academic staff from other institutions to assess the quality of the institution's education. In Scotland, the team also includes an international reviewer. The student is also a member of the Scottish teams. In the UK, attention is paid to providing a cohort of experienced reviewers who can conduct high-quality monitoring and help with advice on improving education. All reviewers must complete training and have permission to participate in the review of educational programs. There are selected committees that are members of the QAA council, each of which is headed by a member of the Council or an independent person approved by the Council. Attention is drawn to the main areas of the QAA's work in the framework of environmental, social and corporate governance.

본 연구는 모바일 폰을 활용한 수업이 대학생들의 영어 독해 학습에 미치는 영향과 그 효율성를 고찰하여 학습 도구로서 모바일 폰의 가치를 파악하고자 하였다. 연구는 서울에 위치한 대학교 재학생들을 대상으로 하였으며 연구 비교를 위해 실험집단(31명)과 통제집단(28명)이 설정되었다. 실험집단은 독해 수업에서 모바일 폰의 다양한 기능, 즉 검색, 녹음, 사진, 모바일 앱, 커뮤니티 업로드하기를 사용하였고 통제집단은 학생들의 발표와 교수자의 설명으로 수업이 이루어졌다. 평가를 위해 두 차례의 독해 평가와 개방형 설문 조사가 실시되었다. 실험 결과 독해 수업에 모바일 폰을 활용한 반이 그렇지 않은 반에 비해 독해 학습 성취도 점수가 더 높은 것으로 나타났으며 이는 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 또한 설문 조사에서 모바일 폰의 긍정적 영향으로는 흥미와 동기 부여, 자기 주도적 학습 유도, 시공간을 초월한 지속적 학습의 가능으로 조사되었다. 제 2언어의 효율적인 학습을 위해 교사와 학습자들은 학습 도구로서의 모바일 폰의 가능성과 그 가치를 인식할 필요가 있으며 수업에서의 적극적인 활용을 위해 모바일 폰을 활용한 다양하고 흥미로운 수업 활동이 더욱 개발되어야 할 것이다.

영어 논문의 작성 능력은 오늘날 공학도들에게 필수적으로 요구되는 자질이다. 주요 해외 저널에 얼마나 많은 논문이 게재되었느냐가 학문적 성과를 평가하는 주된 척도라는 점과 주요 해외 저널들이 보다 많은 독자들을 대상으로 하기 위하여 영어로 쓰여진다는 점 때문에 영어 논문 작성 능력에 대한 필요성은 한국을 포함한 영어가 모국어가 아닌 모든 국가들에서 강조되고 있는 실정이다. 그러나, 불행히도 한국에 있는 이공계 대학들은 석/박사 연구원들의 영어 논문 작성 능력 향상을 위한 정규적인 교육 과정을 제공하고 있지 못하다. 이러한 상황을 더욱 악화시키는 것은 구체적인 기술 논문 작성 방법론에 대한 문헌이 부족하다는 점이다. 원어민(Native Speaker)을 위한 기술 논문 작성 방법론에 대한 문헌이나 EFL 학습자들을 위한 일반적인 영어 작문법에 대한 문헌은 많이 있지만, EFL 학습자들을 위한 기술 논문 작성법에 대한 지침서나 문헌은 찾기 힘들다. 따라서, 본 보고서의 목적은 두 가지로 나누어 볼 수 있다. 첫째, 영문 기술 논문 작성에 대한 교육 방법론이 생소한 한국에서 이공계 연구원을 대상으로 강의를 하고 있는 EFL 강사들에게 제기될 수 있는 일반적인 논제들을 제시한다. 이 논제들은 적절한 강의 접근법(Teaching Approach), 최적의 학생 배치(Class Arrangement), 그리고 컴퓨터 학습 도구의 활용뿐 아니라 대조 수사학(Contrastive Rhetoric)의 중요성에 대한 내용을 포함한다. 둘째, 실제적인 강의 제안서도 제시한다. 본 강의 제안서는 기술 논문 작성법 강의 수강생들의 작문 샘플에 대한 분석 결과와 기술 논문 작성법에 대한 자가 진단 설문 응답 분석 결과를 근거로 작성하였고, 한국인 EFL 학습자가 기술 논문 교육 과정을 통하여 문법(Grammar), 과정(Process), 장르 기술(Genre Skills) 등을 골고루 개발할 수 있도록 하였다. 본 보고서는 EFL 기술 논문 과정의 개발에 대한 여러 일반적인 논점들을 공유함으로써 기술논문 교육방법론 연구가 부족한 한국의 공학 교육계에 하나의 사례를 제시하였다.

The article proves that the main goal of informatization of higher education institutions in the EU countries is to improve the quality of education of future specialists by introducing digital educational resources into the education process. The main tasks of informatization of education are defined. Digital educational resources are interpreted as a set of data in digital form that is applicable for use in the learning process; it is an information source containing graphic, text, digital, speech, music, video, photo and other information aimed at implementing the goals and objectives of modern education; educational resources on the Internet, electronic textbooks, educational programs, electronic libraries, etc. The creation of digital educational resources is defined as one of the main directions of informatization of all forms and levels of Education. Types of digital educational resources by educational functions are considered. The factors that determine the effectiveness of using digital educational resources in the educational process are identified. The use of digital educational resources in the training of future specialists in the EU countries is considered in detail. European countries note that digital educational resources in professional use allow you to implement a fundamentally new approach to teaching and education, which is based on broad communication, free exchange of opinions, ideas, information of participants in a joint project, on a completely natural desire to learn new things, expand their horizons; is based on real research methods (scientific or creative laboratories), allowing you to learn the laws of nature, the basics of techniques, technology, social phenomena in their dynamics, in the process of solving vital problems, features of various types of creativity in the process of joint activities of a group of participants; promotes the acquisition by teachers of various related skills that can be very useful in their professional activities, including the skills of using computer equipment and various digital technologies.

The article considers current information technologies in the organization of educational work in secondary schools in Great Britain. The forms and types of organization of educational work in secondary schools of Great Britain with the help of modern information technologies are covered. The purposes of education with the help of modern information technologies are singled out. Mental, physical, labor, moral, aesthetic and other types of education, merged in a holistic educational process, provide an opportunity to achieve the main goal - the formation of a comprehensive and harmoniously developed personality. All forms of educational work have their pedagogical significance, and each of them is valuable in the process of education. Democratization and partnership development are the leading principles of education in British schools at the present stage; multiculturalism and student independence. This is the ability to promote the role of different types of education, such as: labor, moral, legal, religious, family, environmental, aesthetic, civic, physical, mental education, which is now possible with the help of current information technology.
