차나무 추출물을 이용한 골프장의 지렁이 샘플링과 종류 조사 (Sampling of Earthworm Using Tea Tree (Camellia sinensis) Extract and Occurrence of Earthworm in Turfgrass of Golf Courses)

  • 골프장 잔디에서 효과적으로 지렁이를 추출하는 방법과 골프장의 잔디에 서식하는 지렁이의 종류를 알아보기 위하여 연구를 수행한 결과, 차나무추출물이 mustard oil이나 formalin에 비하여 붉은줄지렁이(Eisenia andrei)의 추출에 효과가 있었다. 그리고 차나무추출물 1000배 처리가 (4 L/m2)가 500배와 2000배 처리에 비하여 효과가 높았다. 토양 내 서식 깊이가 얕을수록 추출효과가 높았다. 그러나 차나무추출물 처리 후 추가적인 관수는 추출에 크게 영향을 미치지 않았다. 우리나라 10개 골프장에는 4속 8종의 지렁이가 분포하고 있었다. 그 중 변이성지렁이(Amynthas heteropodus)가 6개 골프장에서 147개체가 채집되어 우점종이었으며 염주위지렁이(Drawida japonica)가 3개 골프장에서 13개체가 채집되었고, 외무늬지렁이(A. hilgendorfi)와 똥지렁이(A. hupeiensis)가 2개 골프장에서 채집되었다. 차나무추출물로는 똥지렁이가 탈출되지 않았다.

Antioxidant Effect of Tea Tree Root Extracts using Various Extraction Methods

  • To investigate antioxidant effects of tea tree root extracts using various extraction methods, cytotoxicity, DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging, SOD, nitrite scavenging activity and inhibitory activity of lipid peroxidation, reducing power, ferrous ion chelating activity were measured. Cytotoxicity for RAW 264.7 cells was not observed at concentrations treated with below 90 ㎍/mL in all extracts. The maximum DPPH radical, nitrite scavenging, SOD activity and inhibitory activity of lipid peroxidation were obtained at the ethylacetate and 70% ethanol extract. The maximum ABTS radical scavenging activity was obtained at the ethylacetate and hot water extract. However, in the case of reducing power and ferrous ion chelating activity, they were obtained at 70% ethanol and hexane extract, respectively. Nitrate scavenging activity showed the most excellent scavenging ability of 59.6% at 90 ㎍/mL of ethylacetate. The hexane extract had the highest ferrous ion chelating activity, showing 61.05% at 50 ㎍/mL, 66.07% at 70 ㎍/mL and 76.81% at 90 ㎍/mL, respectively. The results of this research show that the ethylacetate and 70% ethanol extracts of tea tree root can be used as a natural material for scavenging the radicals. However, future study is necessary to understand the mechanism of antioxidant activity by identification of substances.

골프장에서 차나무류 추출물과 화학 방제제를 이용한 지렁이 분변토 발생 관리 (Management of Earthworm Casts using Pesticides and Tea Tree (Camellia oliefera) Extracts in Turfgrass of Golf Courses)

  • 지렁이 분변토는 골프장이나 경기장에서 경기력 저하와 잔디 관리의 균일성을 떨어트리는 위해요소이다. 본 연구는 골프장에서 지렁이 분변토 감소를 목적으로 화학적 방제제(bifenthrin GR+clothianidin GR, ethoprophos GR, imidacloprid SC, picoxystrobin WG, thiophanate-methyl WP)와 차나무(Camellia oliefera) 추출물의 효과를 골프장에서 조사하였다. 모든 처리에서 지렁이 분변토 수가 감소하였으며 thiophanate-methyl WP의 지렁이 분변토 발생 억제효과가 가장 높았다. 차나무 추출물 처리도 지렁이 분변토 발생 효과를 보였는데 펠렛형 차나무 종자추출 부산물과 차나무 추출물 액상제형이 차나무 추출물 입상제형에 비하여 효과가 높았으며, 차나무 추출물이나 부산물 처리가 분변토 관리의 대안이 될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

Grapefruit seed extract와 7종의 Essential oil 및 혼합 Essential oil의 항균 활성 (Antibacterial activity of grapefruit seed extract and seven kinds of essential and blended essential oils)

  • 본 배경 : 질염은 항생제를 복용하는 방식으로 치료를 하고 있으며, 이러한 항생제의 지속적인 치료는 내성을 유발할 수 있다. 연구 방법 : Lactic acid bacteria 2종에 에센셜 오일을 이용한 항균 활성을 보고자 한다. SE(Grapefruit Seed Extract), eucalyptus, tea tree, clove bud oil, cinnamon oil, lemongrass oil, thyme oil, ginger oil을 일정 비율로 넣어 배양 후, 병원성 미생물- E. coli, C. albicans와 Lactic acid bacteria은 균주에 맞는 배지를 사용하여 균 수를 측정하였다. 결과 : Essential oil 7종과 GSE가 병원성 미생물에 억제 효과가 있으며, 병원성균(E. coli, C. albicans)에 대한 Grapefruit seed extract(GSE)의 억제농도를 확인하였다, 병원성균은 억제하고 Lactic acid bacteria는 억제하지 않는 배합비도 확인하였다(GSE 농도가 200ppm에서 Eucalyptus globulus(EG) oil 50㎕와 Melaleuca alternifolia oil(Tea tree oil, TTO) 50㎕(pH 5.0, 5.5, 6.0)). 결론 : 본 실험에서 Essential oil은 다양한 항균 활성 가지고 있어 항생제 대안으로도 생각할 수 있으며, 장기 항생제 치료환자에 대한 보조 항균제로서도 유용할 것으로 생각된다.

각종 차성분의 아질산염 소거능에 대한 연구 (A Study on Nitrite Scavenging Ability of Tea Extracts)

  • This reserch was carried out to investigate the nitrite scavenging abilities (NSA) of 7 kinds of tea extracts. Nitrites are used as additives of cured meat preperation and exist in plants, foods, and medicines, so we intake it very often easily. Nitrites can act with amines to produce nitrosamine which is known to be a carcinogen. It is known that the pH, concentration of amines, and amounts of nitrite are three important conditions of nitrosamine occurence. 7 kinds of tea used in this experiment were Persimmon tree (Diospyroo kaki Thiunb, Per.), Mulberry tree (Morus alba Linne, Mul.), Rubber tree (eucommia ulmoi-des Oliver, Rub.), Solomon's-seal (Bolygonatu Morr, Som.), Chicory (Cichorrium intybus L, Chi.), Sumach (Rhus javanica L., Sum.), Docwood (Cornus officinale Sieb, Doc.) and they were extracted with methanol (MeOH), ethyl ether (EtEt), ethyl acetate (EtAc), and also the extract existed in the aqueous layer II (Aq L. II) was used.

아산 지역특산물과 설화를 활용한 Food Tourism 제품 개발 (Study on the Development of Food Tourism Products Based on the Local Food and Folktale)

  • This study aimed to develop unique, local "food tourism" products by finding specialized items that combine tourist attractions, such as folklore or hot springs. Traditional ingredients were analyzed with ancient texts for the methods of research. A brand image was made possible utilizing hot spring lore and other regional stories. The tofu products were produced using local specialty beans. Products, such as tofu residue cake and willow bean tea, were made with the tofu residue. After the products were completed, the sensory test began at the local tourist attraction. Asan City's food tourism product willow tofu was made with beans that were given as compensation for building the Onyang temporary palace according to the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty and the willow tree that appears in Sunshin Lee's anecdotes. After the preference test between normal tofu and willow-extract tofu was conducted to measure the product potential of willow tofu, among the sample extracts, 0.04% of the willow extract showed a significant preference. The hot spring tofu-residue cake was baked using tofu residue and vegetable olive oil to substitute for animal oil, such as butter, or margarine. After the sensory test targeting the adults was conducted, both products displayed significant product potential with average scores above 5.0. Willow tree bark, which has antioxidation and anti-inflammatory effects without a bitter taste or strong smell, was proven to bean appropriate ingredient for leached tea. The nutty flavor of leached tea was enhanced by roasted green kernel black beans and willow tree bark. The sensory test showed that the leached tea and tofu received a high preference rating on both color and flavor.

Antibacterial Effect of Eucalyptus Oil, Tea Tree Oil, Grapefruit Seed Extract, Potassium Sorbate, and Lactic Acid for the development of Feminine Cleansers

  • Purpose: It has been reported that the diversity and abundance of microbes in the vagina decrease due to the use of antimicrobial agents, and the high recurrence rate of female vaginitis due to this suggests that a new treatment is needed. Methods: In the experiment, we detected that 10% potassium sorbate solution, 1% eucalyptus oil solution, 1% tea tree oil solution, 400 µL/10 mL grapefruit seed extract solution, 100% lactic acid, 10% acetic acid solution, and 10% lactic acid solution were prepared and used. After adjusting the pH to 4, 5, and 6 with lactic acid and acetic acid in the mixed culture medium, each bacterium was inoculated into the medium and incubated for 72 h at 35℃. Incubate and 0 h each. 24 h. 48 h. The number of bacteria was measured after 72 h. Results: In the mixed culture test between lactic acid bacteria and pathogenic microorganisms, lactic acid bacteria showed good results at pH 5-5.5. Potassium sorbate, which has varying antibacterial activity based on the pH, killed pathogenic bacteria and allowed lactic acid bacteria to survive at pH 5.5. Conclusion: The formulation ratio obtained through this study could be used for the development of a feminine cleanser that can be used as a substitute for antibacterial agents. Further, the findings of this study may be able to solve the problem of antimicrobial resistance in the future.

유칼립투스, 유카와 차나무의 추출분획 혼합물의 여러 인간 피부 상재균에 대한 항균활성 (Antimicrobial activity of fraction mixture of ethanol extracts from Eucalyptus globulus, Yucca recurvifolia, and Melaleuca alternifolia against several human skin microbes)

  • 이 연구에서는 유칼립투스, 유카와 차나무의 ethanol 추출물의 수지를 이용한 분획 혼합물에 대한 항균활성을 평가하였는데 여러 인간 피부 상재균에 낮은 최소저해농도(0.24~3.32 mg/ml)를 나타내었고 항생제 triclosan과 ampicillin보다 우수한 활성을 나타내었다. Time kill assay에서 식물 추출분획 혼합물은 4시간 이내에 미생물 균주의 개체수를 92% 이상 감소시켰고, 모든 미생물 균주의 뉴클레오티드를 상당량 유출시켰으며, 항균 효과는 이가 양이온($Mg^{2+}$$Ca^{2+}$)에 영향을 받지 않았다. 이러한 결과는 Eucalyptus sp., Yucca sp., 및 tea tree의 ethanol 추출물의 수지분획 혼합물이 중요한 인간 피부 상재균을 억제하는 효율적인 화장품 방부제로 이용될 수 있음을 시사한다.

  • Manuka oil sometime named New Zealand's tea tree oil is soluble in oil and come from nature. The $\alpha$-pinene extracted from Manuka oil and R-limonene which is one of the component of extracted Citrex from Grapefruit were used to estimate the antimicrobial activity and to improve the capability of antiseptic. Disk diffusion and broth dilution methods were used to measure the antimicrobial activity. Escherichia coli which is gram-negative bacteria and Staphylococcus aureus which is gram-positive bacteria were used as strain. The antimicrobial activity of Manuka oil and $\alpha$-pinene for Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus is similar when the concentration of Manuka oil and $\alpha$-pinene is $10{\mu}l$. However, Antimicrobial activity of Manuka oil for Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus is better than that of $\alpha$-pinene when the concentration of Manuka oil and $\alpha$-pinene is low. Antimicrobial activity of Citrex is superior to that of R-limonene. The proper ratio of Maunka oil and Citrex can improve the antimicrobial activity. The proper ratio obtained from studies was 75% of Maunka oil and 25% Citrex for Escherichia coli, 25% of Maunka oil and 75% Citrex for Staphylococcus aureus.
