According to the needs for equipment performance, reliability, and performance for impending time to guarantee its viability, various redundancy techniques have been used in many military systems. Typically, one of redundancy schemes to increase the viability of the system is to configure a network between two processes. However, when some failure or loss in a physical network occur, redundancy schemes may not operate well. In this paper, we present a protocol scheme of VMEbus master and slave of a shared memory region, interrupts, and a dedicated task communication. Specifically, we confirm the validity of the presented scheme through the direct implementation of the protocol and some experimental results.
The demographic and environmental changes such as the decrease of the population growth rate and the increase of the population of the senior citizens, which become issues of the modern society, are bringing numerous changes of many aspects like national economy, community, and culture. These social phenomena give impacts on the school facilities as well. Thus owing to the decrease of the number of the students, the number of the newly constructed schools has been decreased drastically, and moreover the merger of the schools cause many schools to be default. Meanwhile, the school facilities have been expanded into the functions of the local community centers, and the various educational activities demand the diversity and flexibility of the spaces. These factors add more burdens to the current schools. Therefore the school facilities are needed to adopt a flexible and relevant change necessary for using the spaces in accordance with the changed needs of the times, and are needed to reinvented continuously not to limit the educational and social activities because of the degradation of the school facilities. Yet because there are no proper criteria for doing the task, problems related to the relevance of the task and the unnecessary investment are raised. So through this study I tried to demonstrate the standardized index in terms of the sequential priority of upgrading the facilities among the schools.
The aim of the study is to investigate the usability of wheel navigation key(WNK) recently adopted for the new models of mobile phone and MP3 product. In this study, an experiment was designed to evaluate the functional benefit of WNK by using a performance test. A questionnaire was also used to examine the personal preference. In results, a significant difference was found in performance time between wheel-type and button-type product. In general, the difference was more significant as subject's skill level was higher. In particular, the performance time was significantly shortened with the WNK when a searching task was required, but push button was an effective interface for simple search task among beginners. Therefore, the wheel navigation key can be used to improve the usability of product by reducing the searching time in mobile phone and mp3. For practical application, the user's level of skill needs to be considered to maximize the effect of interface when choosing WNK or push button.
Case-based reasoning (CBR) method can make estimators understand the estimation process more clearly. Thus, CBR is widely used as a methodology for cost estimation. In CBR, the quality of case retrieval affects the relevance of retrieved cases and hence the overall quality of the reminding capability of CBR system. Thus, it is essential to retrieve relevant past cases for establishing a robust CBR system. Case retrieval needs the following tasks to obtain appropriate case(s); indexing, search, and matching (Aamodt and Plaza 1994). However, the previous CBR researches mostly deal with matching process that has limits such as accuracy and efficiency of case retrieval. In order to address this issue, this research presents a CBR cost model for building projects that has two-step retrieval process: decision tree and nearest neighbor methods. Specifically, the proposed cost model has indexing, search and matching modules. Features in the model are divided into shape-based and scale-based attributes. Based on these, decision tree is established for facilitating the search task and nearest neighbor method was utilized for matching task. In regard to applying nearest neighbor method, attribute weights are assigned using GA optimization and similarity is calculated using the principle of distance measuring. Thereafter, the proposed CBR cost model is developed using 174 cases and validated using 12 test cases.

Interoperability has been the problem of CAD/CAM systems. Starting from 1980's, national and international organizations have addressed the issue through development and release of standards for the exchange of geometric and nongeometric design data. To CAD/CAM vendors, the task of interpreting and implementing these standards falls into their products. This task is a balancing action between users' needs, available development resources, and the technical specifications of standards. This paper explores an area of CAD/CAM systems development, particularly the implementation of the effective exchange files translators'. A new approach is introduced, which proposes to enclose all the translation operations concerning each exchange format to a separate DLL, thus making a 'plug-in.' Then, this plug-in could be used together with the CAD/CAM system or with specialized translation software. This approach allows to create new translators rapidly and to gain the reliable, high-efficiency, and reusable program code. The second part of the paper concerns the possible problems of translators' development. These difficulties often come from the exchange standards' misunderstanding or ambiguity in standards. All examples come from the authors' practice experiences of dealing with CAD/CAM systems.

This paper introduces an effective system design method to develop a customer oriented product using a design optimization process and to select a set of critical design paramenters,. The process results in the development of a successful product satisfying customer needs and reducing development risk. The proposed scheme adopted a five step QFD(Quality Function Deployment) in order to extract design parameters from customer needs and evaluated their priority using risk factors for extracted design parameters. In this process we determine critical design parameters and allocate them to subsystem designers. Subsequently design engineers develop and test the product based on these parameters. These design parameters capture the characteristics of customer needs in terms of performance cost and schedule in the process of QFD, The subsequent risk management task ensures the minimum risk approach in the presence of design parameter uncertainty. An application of this approach was demonstrated in the development of weld quality monitoring system. Dominant design parameters affect linearity characteristics of weld defect feature vectors. Therefore it simplifies the algorithm for adopting pattern classification of feature vectors and improves the accuracy of recognition rate of weld defect and the real time response of the defect detection in the performance. Additionally the development cost decreases by using DSP board for low speed because of reducing CPU's load adopting algorithm in classifying weld defects. It also reduces the cost by using the single sensor to measure weld defects. Furthermore the synergy effect derived from the critical design parameters improves the detection rate of weld defects by 15% when compared with the implementation using the non-critical design parameters. It also result in 30% saving in development cost./ The overall results are close to 95% customer level showing the effectiveness of the proposed development approach.
The purpose of this study was to analyze dental hygienists' opinions on health promotion projects in public health and their needs for specialized education in the projects, so that it could help prepare specialized education program required for health promotion projects in the future. To meet the goals, total 364 dental hygienists working in public health were asked to join a questionnaire survey via e-mail in September 2007 for data analysis. As a result, this analysis came to the following conclusions: First, it was found that 29.9% of total respondents took in charge of health promotion projects, and 26.9% respondents considered it very necessary to be responsible for the health promotion projects(56.0% considered it necessary). Almost half respondents considered nonsmoking assistance most desirable task(48.4%) and foremost demanded(50.5%) out of all current health promotion projects, 39.8% respondents answered that they could carry on health promotion task, if assigned, after completing occupational training course. Second, it was found that 39.3% respondents acquired other licenses and qualifications than certificate of registered dental hygienist, and their medical licenses or qualifications included certificate of nursing assistant(18.7%) and certificate of social worker(11.8%) by category. Third, in terms of opinions on possible ways to facilitate health promotion projects, it was found that over half respondents considered it recommended to step up specialized education(56.9%) and prepare legal basis and administrative system(53.6%). Notably, 90.7% respondents considered it necessary to step up specialized education in health promotion. Fourth, in terms of opinions on participation in health promotion projects, it was found that almost half respondents(49.7%) considered it necessary and very positive for extending dental hygienists' works in the future. Moreover, in terms of reasons for sum positive answers, it was found that many respondents considered it helpful for appointment(41.8%) and contributing to capability development and job satisfaction(44.5%). In terms of opinions that sud, participation would be unnecessary, 29.7% respondents thought that nothing would be changed in their dental health projects even with reduced number of public health dentists, and 31.3% respondents thought that dental hygienists are professional manpower responsible only for dental health works. Finally, in terms of on-the-job training(OJT) related to health promotion, it was found that 92.9% respondents desired for OJT. In terms of experiences in OJT, 79.9% respondents answered that they never joined OJT course. In other words, only 20.1% respondents joined OJT courses for health promotion task, such as nonsmoking assistance(8.8%), health promotion FMTP training(2.2%), exercises(1.4%) and nutrition(0.6%).
This study aims to explore the duty system of the lifelong learning counseling, and to analyze the needs of counseling practice which are conceived by lifelong education practitioners. Based on the related prior studies, the duty system of lifelong learning counseling was investigated and classified. Also, differences of how to recognize the importance of counseling job and how to practice counseling are assessed by Borich method. After data were collected by practitioners from lifelong education field, the dependent t-test and the Borich needs assessment formula were used for analysis of the collected data. The results are as follows: the 4 subdivided duties of lifelong learning counseling are formation of relationship, learner's analysis, learning promotion, and follow-up management. The 11 tasks are learner's interview, providing learning information, analysis of learner's characteristics and needs, learning level diagnosis, diagnosis of learning inhibiting factors, promotion of learning motivation, advice of learning course and learning method, support of study circle activity, career planning counseling, follow-up counseling, and counseling evaluation. According to the needs assessment, learner's analysis is conceived as the most important duty among the 4 sub-duties, and learner's analysis is regarded as second important duty by the counseling practitioners. Among the 11 tasks, providing learning information is the most important tasks among counseling practitioners, and analysis of learner's characteristics and needs is followed as second task. The duty system of the lifelong learning counseling and needs assessment data can be used as the basic data for lifelong education practitioners to conduct the duty of lifelong learning counseling efficiently and to support the lifelong learning plan according to learner's characteristics.

In big data era, there are a number of considerable parts in processing systems for capturing, storing, and analyzing stored or streaming data. Unlike traditional data handling systems, a big data processing system needs to concern the characteristics (format, velocity, and volume) of being handled data in the system. In this situation, virtualized computing platform is an emerging platform for handling big data effectively, since virtualization technology enables to manage computing resources dynamically and elastically with minimum efforts. In this paper, we analyze resource utilization of virtualized computing resources to discover suitable deployment models in Apache Hadoop and HBase-based big data processing environment. Consequently, Task Tracker service shows high CPU utilization and high Disk I/O overhead during MapReduce phases. Moreover, HRegion service indicates high network resource consumption for transfer the traffic data from DataNode to Task Tracker. DataNode shows high memory resource utilization and Disk I/O overhead for reading stored data.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate importance and performance of dietitian's task at long term care hospitals foodservices in the Busan Kyongnam area. The research was performed through using questionnaires and conducted from June 11 to July 16, 2010 for 186 dietitians at 141 long-term care hospitals. Seventy-two percent of hospitals had two dietitians and 69% of them had a dietitian's office. Fifty-two percent of dietitians has worked for less than 2 years at long term care hospital, and 37.1% of them worked additional tasks. Seventy-three percent of hospitals conducted a therapeutic diet program and the therapeutic diets frequently provided were diabetic diet > tube feeding diet > dysphasia diet > sodium controlled diet. Mean score for the importance (4.36/5.00) and performance (3.91/5.00) of dietitian's tasks were significantly different (p < 0.001). The importance and performance grid showed that the purchase-inspection management and sanitation-safety management were high scores to the importance and performance (doing great area), menu-foodservice management and cooking-working management were low scores to the importance and high scores to the importance (overdone area), and nutrition management was low scores to the importance and performance (low priority). Forty-three percent of dietitians agreed with the needs for role separation between foodservice dietitian and clinical dietitian.
