The Influence of Gamers' Characteristics on the Emergent Party Play: Based on Organizational Citizenship Behavior Theory (게이머 특성이 창발적 파티 플레이에 미치는 영향 - 조직시민행동 이론을 중심으로 -)

  • This empirical study is to investigate the influence of MMORPG player's social as well as individual characteristics on the emergent party play. First, we have tested our research model by surveying 231 active players of Lineage 2. The results demonstrate that both the personal values, such as self-efficacy and job satisfaction, and also the organizational values, such as task interdependence and trust, have significant influences on the organizational citizenship behaviors among the party players. This study suggests both theoretical and practical implications on how to encourage gamers' altruistic concern and organizational adaptation in MMORPG.

A Firm's Environmental Determinants Impacting the Information Security Management and the Moderating Effects of Regulatory Influence (정보보안관리에 영향을 미치는 기업환경요소와 규제자 영향의 조절효과)

  • According to the higher dependence of contemporary firms on data digitalization and the information technology, the role and importance of Information Security Management (ISM) is getting higher. Thus, there is a need to arrange proper procedure and a series of device within the organization in order to reduce diverse security risks, which take place from the inside and the outside of firm. In other words, prior examination for reinforcing recognition of ISM, and of a systematic performance method in the refined form is important. This study investigate the key variables influencing the ISM. Thus, this study suggests firm environmental factors that include four exogenous variables, market volatility, task interdependence, perceived benefits, and coordination mechanism affecting awareness of ISM. In addition, it proposes a concept of the ISM process with awareness, development, and performance, and examines the moderating effects of regulatory influence. The research model was tested by using Structural Equation Modeling, via SmartPLS 2.0 analysis on a sample collected from 186 employees in various industries. The research results provide the evidence that supports the tested hypotheses except significance of coordination mechanism. The implications of the findings suggest a new theoretical framework of the ISM and offers important solutions for the practical application guidelines.

A Study on the Support Tool for Simulator Algorithm Development (알고리즘 적용이 용이한 시뮬레이터 개발 지원 도구에 관한 연구)

  • Simulator is composed of several devices that have a variety of forms and functions. These devices are connected to each other by a network intricately. For this reason, simulator development and maintenance process require a lot of time and money. In order to successfully develop the simulator, it is ideal that related professionals share the work and work together in parallel. However, development is carried out inefficiently, because task interdependence makes it difficult to work in parallel. In this paper, the developments of the simulator were classified into algorithm development and system development, and it was discussed how to lower the interdependence of these two tasks and support professionals. In particular, based on the requirements analysis of the domain experts responsible for the development of the algorithm, we designed the support tool for simulator development and proposed development process using this tool. We also introduced the concept of a DataSet in order to support algorithm development of domain experts and manage data flexibly. And we designed network architecture to enable flexible reconfiguration of simulator equipment. By using the tools to support the simulator development, domain experts are able to concentrate on algorithm development and it is expected to be effective collaboration. In addition, the development plan and management are expected to be easy because the development process is systematic and clearer.

The Organizational Citizenship Behavior and Organizational Effectiveness of Hospital Employees (병원근로자의 조직시민행동과 조직효과성 관계 연구)

  • Background: The organizational citizenship behavior is generally known as the important factor relevant to the organizational effectiveness. This research examined the mediating effect of the organizational citizenship behavior of hospital employees on the organizational effectiveness. Methods: Data were collected from 1,112 employees located in city of Seoul, Kyunggi and Chungnam province through self-administered questionnaires. Collected data were analyzed using IBM SPSS ver. 20.0, frequency analysis, t-test, analysis of variance, regression analysis, and path analysis. The main findings of the study are as follows. Results: First, it was found that many characteristics variables of personality, job, and relationship together affected organizational citizenship behavior of hospital employees. Especially, the following variables of negative affectivity, desire for growth, job value, job significance, and job security were found to have significant effect on the organizational citizenship behavior of hospital employees. Second, the results of path analysis showed that, through the mediating effect of organizational citizenship behavior, personality variables of positive and negative affectivity, and desire for growth, job characteristics variables of job value, job significance, and job security, and relationship variables of organizational support and task interdependence, had significant total effects on the level of job satisfaction of hospital employees. Conclusion: As a result, the organizational citizenship behavior seems to have both direct and indirect effects on the organizational effectiveness of hospital employees. Based on above findings, some theoretical and practical implications were discussed.

A Qualitative Case Study on Conflict Transfer Factors of College Graduates with Early Careers (대졸초기경력자의 갈등 전이 요인에 대한 질적 사례 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the factors influencing conflict transition through the conflict transition process experienced by college graduates with early careers. The participants of this study were in-depth interviews with a total of 8 young people aged 25-34 who graduated from college and found their common subjects in all cases. As a result, the topics such as 'lack of recognition and compensation', 'unfairness of supervisor', 'characteristics of job (interdependence, autonomy)' were derived. 'Lack of recognition and compensation' brought about a sense of skepticism about the idea that even though they worked hard, they could not be recognized. And it caused a conflict transition. When the participants felt the 'unfairness of the supervisor', the task conflicts were further amplified and it transfer to relationship conflict. Among the characteristics of 'job characteristics', when highly interdependent occupations were carried out, conflict transition was shown and conflict levels were high. On the other hand, the work environment with job autonomy showed job satisfaction and did not show conflict transition. This study has an academic significance in that it revealed the types of conflicts and conflict transfer factors experienced in early career status of college graduates. In addition, this research have the practical implications to improves the participants' understanding of the conflict transfer through actual scene in the workplace.

Relationship between Characteristics of Accounting Firms and Audit Engagement Risks based on Bayesian Network (베이지안 네트워크를 기반으로 한 회계법인의 속성과 감사계약체결위험간의 관계)

  • One of the methods of securing the reliability of accounting information is maintaining high audit quality. The first step of improving audit quality is lowering audit engagement risks. Thus, this study analyzed the relationship between the characteristics of accounting firms and audit engagement risks based on the Bayesian Network. For this, Markov Blanket, the minimum explanatory variable set, which affects audit engagement risks, was presented, and based on the drawn causal relationship, sensitivity analysis was conducted to verify the characteristics of accounting firms, which affect audit engagement risks. The existing preceding research that used multiple regression analysis presumes the linearity between explanatory variables and dependent variables, so there was a limit in drawing the relationship between explanatory variables. Therefore, this study figured out the interdependence between variables using the General Bayesian Network and examined the impact that each variable has finally on audit engagement risks that affects the audit quality. The results of this study would greatly contribute to improving the efficiency of the supervisory task by allowing a supervisory institution to identify an accounting firms that does not manage audit engagement risks properly and to improve the supervision of the accounting firms in advance. In addition, this study will be used as a reference when a supervisory institution would improve the system related to audit quality by presenting the characteristics of accounting firms related to the audit quality.
