  • The transformation of plots using the archetypical narratives is not just a repetition of the past story, but finding a new suitable meaning for present time and society. Due to this, the story can be variated depending on what the transformation has the main point for. Disney's animation overcomes the narrative feature of the past classic fairy tale that worked only for particular age and people, and recognized as a contemporary story that can give impression to more various people. This study use Vladimir Propp's Morphology of the Folktale, Carl Gustav Jung's complexes and shadow theory to examine how this animation is modernly recreated by transforming the archetypical narrative. As a result, we can find characteristics of structure and function for contemporary story, and those also work with characters in the recreated animation. Through this study we discovered that Disney's animation is a transfiguration of archetypical narrative through the exhaustive analysis, and this could be the helpful research for the future creation of animation which uses the archetypical narratives.

  • Change coupling is a measure to show how strongly change-related two entities are. When two source files have been frequently changed together, they are regarded as change-coupled files and they will probably be changed together in the near future. In the previous studies, the change coupling between two files is defined with the number of common changed time, that is, common commit time of the files. However, the frequency-based technique has limitations because of 'tangled changes', which frequently happens in the development environments with version control systems. The tangled change means that several code hunks have been changed at the same time, though they have no relation with each other. In this paper, the change types of the code hunks are also used to define change coupling, in addition to the common commit time of target files. First, the frequency vector based on change types are defined with the extracted change types, and then, the similarity of change patterns are calculated using the cosine similarity measure. We conducted experiments on open source project Eclipse JDT and CDT for case studies. The result shows that the applicability of the proposed method, compared to the previous studies.

  • This research attempts to provide greater understandings about 'Transbranding' theory by an analysis of , a 3D animation produced by Disney Studio released in 2013 partly in comparison with . Furthermore, this research shows the branding strategy of "Disney", reputed for its well-devised marketing strategy, in the era of Transmedia. This research analyzes the animation with four components of 「Transmedia Mix strategy」 and the 「2F(Flexible Fit) strategy」. In the 「2F(Flexible Fit) strategy」 analysis, is compared with another Disney-made animation . not just maintains the core values of Disney animations but also implements diverse strategies for developing the evolving interactions, the collaborative creation, and the multi-experience. has achieved successful branding identity/image by securing the strategic flexibility by differentiating itself from the existing Disney animations. Disney also establishes itself as a new and modern brand through 2F strategies.

  • Line scan camera has been widely used in the area of inspection of glass, film, fabric, iron, PCB and etc. due to the high resolution and the high speed. We developed the line scan based vision system to inspect tangled and cut-off status of yarn in the manufacturing process. The original image is binarized with a proper threshold, and the gap distances in the yarn are measured in real time, so finally the status of the process is decided by the maximum value of the gap distance. All procedures are executed in real time by realization of multi-processed threads. By implementation of this system, the error of the yarn in manufacturing process can be precedently monitored and the loss of the yarn is decreased efficiently.

  • In the middle of May 2018, typical red thread disease symptoms were observed on Kentucky bluegrass (Poa pratensis L.) on a golf course, which locates at Yangsan, Gyeongnam province in Korea. Irregular-shaped patched symptoms were observed in fairway of golf course. The foliar symptom was dried out and faded to straw color and tip of the grass leaves were tangled like thread. Early morning, infected and tangled leaves were covered with the pinkish gelatinous antler-like structure (sclerotinia) as a typical red thread disease symptom. Causal fungal pathogens were isolated from the symptom in Kentucky bluegrass. The fungal culture characteristic on potato dextrose agar color of colony was pale pink and conjugated hyphae, sclerotium of irregular shape was pale pink and 3~5mm diameter in size. The pathogen was identified as Laetisaria fuciformis based on morphological and culture characteristics as well as molecular characteristics. Pathogenicity test was verified on the Kentucky bluegrass by Koch's postulates. This is the first report of red thread disease occurrence in Kentucky bluegrass by L. fuciformis in Korea.

  • Microstructural investigations of $(1-x)NdAlO_3-xCaTiO_3$ (NACT) complex perovskite compounds were carried out using X-ray diffractometry, neutron diffraction and transmission electron microscopy. When $0.3{\leq}x{\leq}0.9$, NACT had not only the 1 : 1 chemical ordering of cations but also the antiphase and inphase tilting of oxygen octahedron and the antiparallel shift of cations. Both the antiphase boundaries and the ferroelastic domains were present in the microstructure. The long and straight ferroelastic domains became degenerate as x decreases. When x was smaller than 0.3, the chemical ordering was absent and the antiphase tilting of oxygen octahedron was observed. The defects like tangled dislocations and the second phase were also found in the microstructure.

  • This study attempts to suggest a theoretical basic frame that is needed for nursing intervention regarding the sexual experiences of the mentally disabled. The data were collected through a series of interviews with 14 participants. With permission of the mentally disabled, the interviews were recorded and transcribed. The data were analyzed using the framework of grounded theory mapped out by Strauss & Corbin(1998). The following 3 theories were confirmed on the basis of repetitive relations: becoming nest type, exercising self-restraint type, getting tangled type. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a realistic sex education that is relevant to hospital, community mental health center, and culture. The nurse is required to activily participate in educating the mentally disabled with a diverse approach to instill and nurture the sober perspective about sex such as the pleasure, life, intimacy based on sexual equality.

  • This study's purpose is to investigate the effects of reading movie scripts aloud in non-face-to-face general English courses on international students' English ability in the COVID-19 era. A general English class was delivered once a week for 15 weeks to 47 international students at a Seoul-based university. The animated movie Tangled and its script were used as learning materials. Biweekly, students had to watch video lectures using the university's learning management system(LMS) and read scripts aloud through Zoom. In the video lectures, the teacher went over specific vocabulary and interpreted the movie scripts in easy Korean. For the second activity through Zoom, international students read the movie script aloud individually and in groups. The post-test revealed significant improvements in both reading and writing, as compared to the pre-test. Through the study's survey, participants exhibited positive attitudes in affective domains(understanding, satisfaction, interest, and recommendation).

  • The pollen morphology of eleven species and three forms of the genus Rhododendron (Ericaceae) in Korea was examined using light, scanning electron and transmission electron microscopy. The pollen grains are grouped in permanent tetrahedral tetrads; viscin threads are present on the tetrads. The hexacolporate tetrads are of tricolporate monads whereby the apertures form in pairs at six points in the tetrad. The exine sculpture pattern is rugulate, scabrate or verrucate on mesocolpium but psilate, rugulate or microscabrate around the aperture on apocolpium. The exine of Korean Rhododendron pollen consists of tectum, columella, foot layer and endexine. The surface of viscin threads is more or less smooth. The threads are sometimes tangled together and occasionally divided into strands. Six types are recognized based on the pollen morphology. The types are: (1) Micranthum-type (rugulate mesocolpium and psilate apcolpium), (2) Tomentosum-type (rugulate mesocolpium and apocolpium), (3) Aureum-type (scabrate mesocolpium and rugulate apocolpium), (4) Brachycarpum-type (scabrate mesocolpium and rod shaped-microscabrate apocolpium), (5) Schlippenbachiitype (scabrate mesocolpium and round-microscabrate apocolpium) and (6) Weyrichii-type (verrucate mesocolpium).

  • Composite materials of mesoporous carbon and carbon nanotubes were synthesized using Ni, Co and Pd-loaded CMK3 via a catalytic reaction of methane and $CO_2$. The CNTs grew from the pores of the mesoporous carbon supports, and they were attached tightly to the CMK3 surface in a densely tangled shape. The CNT/CMK3 composite showed both non-graphitic mesoporous structures, and graphitic characteristics originating from the MWCNTS grown in the pores of CMK3. The electrochemical properties of the materials were characterized by their electrorheological effects and cyclic voltammetry. The CNTs/CMK3 composites showed high electrical conductivity and current density. The CNT/CMK3 or KOH-modified CNT/CMK3 particles were incorporated in a PMMA matrix to improve the thermal and electrical conductivity. Even higher thermal conductivity was achieved by the addition of KOH-modified CNT/CMK3 particles.
