In order to research the display of the apparel store, 164 women's clothing in Taegu were investigated, from September 1. to October 31.1991. The result was as follows; 1. The perpendicular style of the show window glasses is widely used regardless of the store types. 2. The show window story is most frequently found at street-level in Taegu brand stores, but there are a few multi-storied show windows in National bland stores. 3. The open style background is used in a great part of Taegu brands, but the semi-open style is widely used in most National blands. 4. The arrangement of simular colors is used in a great parts of National brands, but the arrangement of different colors is used in many Taegu brands. 5. The base light and spot light is used at a high rate regardless of the stores, but the mannequin is more often used in National brands and Taegu brands.

Descending necrotizing mediastinitis(DNM) is one of the most lethal form of mediastinitis originating from an oropharyngeal infection. It requires an early and aggressive sugical treatment, but the operative approach and optimal form of mediastinal drainage remains controversial. We report a case of DNM in a 45-year-old male who underwent right cervicomediastinotomy to drain the deep neck space, upper mediastinum and anterior mediastinal drainage was accomplished through a subxiphoid approach. After this procedure, he steadily improved and was dischrged on hospital day 36. We report this case with a brief review of the literature.

The rates for the oxidation reaction of l-ascorbic acid by Cu(Ⅱ)-polyamine complexes were measured by Onish's method at the pH 4.6. The oxidation process of l-ascorbic acid is proposed to occur by the inner-sphere mechanism that involves the formation of a Cu(Ⅱ)-ascorbic acid complex and electron transfer at the rate-determining step.

Neurofibromatosis is characterized by its skeletal involvement and cutaneous manifestation. Some patients develop focal area of hypoplasia and atrophy at limbs. We present the case of a 13-year-old boy with a fracture of the hypoplastic clavicle associated with neurofibromatosis and brownish cutaneous macules. The patient received open reduction and internal fixation with a semitubular plate and biopsy was done in order to clarify the pathology.

Background: Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) has been widely used for pain relief after surgery instead of opioid analgesics therapy. This study was designed to study the effectiveness of TENS on perianal pain after anal surgery. Methods: Forty-eight patients who underwent anal surgery were evaluated in this suudy. Caudal anesthesia with 1.5% lidocaine 30 ml mixture 1：200,000 epinephrine was performed. TENS was done at 100 Hz for 25 min. duration, postoperatively at 4 hrs and 24 hrs. Pain was also measured at the 4 hrs and 24 hrs postoperatively by visual analogue scale (VAS). VAS value were compared before and after TENS application. Results: Values of VAS after TENS were significantly lower compared to those before TENS. Conclusions: From these results, we concluded, TENS may be effective for postoperative perianal pain relief after anal surgery.

This study was deigned to identify the effect of electromyographic activity of knee extensor during contralateral hip isometric adduction. six young adults who had not experienced any knee injuries were recruited. Their Q-angles were within a normal rage. They were asked to sit on the table. The EMG activities of the vastus lateralis (VL), vastus medialis oblique (VMO) were recorded in sitting by surface electrodes and normalized by MVC EMG values derived from manual muscle test. The EMG activity levels of the VL, RF, and VMO were the highest when foot was externally rotated. The EMG activity level of VMO/VL ratio did show significant differences(p<.05). The onset time of vastus lateralis (VL) and vastus medialis oblique (VMO) was similar in contralateral hip isometric adduction(p<.05).

Osteosarcoma is the most frequently encountered primary malignant tumor of the bone. But primary osteosarcoma of the skull(POS) is rare. The author presents a case of skull neoplasm identified as osteogenic sarcoma. A twentyseven-years-old male patient was admitted because of painful swelling at left temporal and zygomatic area with impairment of extraocular movement. Chest film and long bone series showed no evidence of abnormality. Skull films revealed round irregular bony destructive area at the left pterional area. CT and MRI revealed expansile destruction of the left sphenoid bone, lateral orbital wall and temporal bone within the hemorrhagic mass lesions which showed wall enhancement. Histologic examination confirmed a rare variant of osteosarcoma of the telangiectatic type.

The vast majority of schwannomas occur on cranial nerves, and rarely in the retroperitoneum. Solitary schwannoma in the psoas muscle is extremely rare. The authors present a case of retroperitoneal neoplasm in the psoas muscle identified as schwannoma which is not associated with von Recklinghausen's disease. A 68 years old female patient was admitted because of low back pain and weakness at the left leg. CT and MRI revealed a large cystic mass with well-defined margin and multiple internal septation within the left psoas muscle. The tumor was totally extirpated and histologically confirmed as a schwannoma.

Retrospective analysis of cholescintigraphy and ultrasonography was done in 76 patients with clinically suspected acute cholecystitis to assess the relative value of the two modalities. Excluding the Patients with obstructive jaundice, the overall results of cholescintigraphy(sensitivity 100%, specificity 95%, false positive rate 5%, false negative rate 0%, accuracy 97%) are nearly identical with or rather superior to those of the ultrasonography(sensitivity 94%, specificity 100%, false positive rate 0%, false negative rate 5%, accuracy 97%). We recommend the cholescintigraphy as the initial modality in patients with clinically suspected acute cholecystitis, and ultrasonography can be used in jaundiced patients to exclude the possibility of the false positive of cholescintigraphy.
