  • Due to the development of advanced technology, a lot of digital radiographic equipment has been developed, which is very helpful for accurate diagnosis and treatment, and it is very important to train personnel who have acquired professional knowledge in order to use it safely and effectively. Students are exposed to the risk of radiation exposure in radiography training using diagnostic X-ray equipment, and some educational institutions do not use X-ray equipment due to management difficulties in accordance with the Nuclear Safety Act. As a solution to this, this study developed a medical radiation simulator for education that does not generate radiation by using a vision sensor and self-developed software. Through this, educational institutions can reduce the burden of administrative implementation according to the law, and students can obtain a high level of educational effects in a healthy practice environment without radiation exposure.

  • King Jeongjo had lost his father, Sado-Seja(Prince Sado) by Noron(Older Faction). Especially those who tried to kill Sado-Seja and king Jeongjo consisted of king's family-in-law of king Youngjo and Sado-Seja. Therefore king Jeongjo's first goal was to strengthen his kingship than other things because he could gain the throne overcoming the strong hinderance of Noron and king's family-in-law. King Jeongjo requested his subjects to be "Kukbyon-In"(國邊人: a person for king) pointing out the harm of the king's family-in-law and "Tangpyong-Dang"(蕩平黨: the strongest faction consisted under the rule of king Youngjo). For the purpose, king Jeongjo built up "Gyujang-Gak". Gyujang-Gak was spoken to contain and protect the writings of earlier kings superficially, but in reality, it was an apparatus to gain and train the friendly subjects for king Jeongjo. Like that, it was the most important for king Jeongjo to suppress the king's family-in-low and to win Neo-Confucian lterati over to himself's side. Until now, the politics of Joseon Dynasty had been mainly explained on the point of view of "Seonghak-Non"(聖學論). "Seonghak-Non" means that Neo-Confucian lterati were treated as real hero, not kings in the political space of Joseon Dynasty and the role of factions were recognized important. But king Jeongjo denied these ideological stream and tried to change that political system. King Jeongjo wanted to strengthen the throne through the method which insisted the king as a hero in politics. For the purpose, king Jeongjo criticized the Neo-Confucian literati's viewpoint about politics and learning at that time and anticipated to be sole leader of politics and learning on that critique. King Jeongjo aimed to destroy the dignity of "Salim"(山林: Neo-Confucian Sages) with attacking their wrong behaviors. King Jeongjo also criticized the period of king Injo when the regime of "Sarim"(士林: pure Neo-Confucian lterati) faction fully appeared as the starting period when the factional harms were getting worse. King Jeongjo wanted to previously block the oppositions to win subjects over to himself's side with criticizing the period of king Injo and to take away the initiative from his opponents with insisting "Salim-Muyongnon"(山林無用論: a theory ignoring Neo-Confucian Sages). King Jeongjo's critique was not limited just on the system of factional politics. "Seonghak-Non" eventually took root in Neo-Confucianism. Therefore king Jeongjo criticized Neo-Confucianism. He insisted that the essence of Chinese Classics was pragmatical learning, not Neo-Confucianism. Through that critique, king Jeongjo aimed to destroy the ideological base of his opponents. However, king Jeongjo failed to be a sole leader of his subjects in the both boundaries of politics and learning even though he criticized the Neo-Confucian lterati's viewpoint about politics and learning. Because he abruptly died leaving his reformational scheme behind as well as his loyal subjects guarding himself against Noron Byeok-Pa(老論 ?派: the opposing party in Older Faction) were gone behind himself. The politics of Joseon Dynasty returned to more powerful politics for king's family-in-law after king Jeongjo's death.

  • Noise and air pollution, which accompany the development of industry and the increase of population, contribute to the deterioration of urban environment. The air pollution level of Seoul has gradually increased and the city residents are suffering from a high pollution of noise. If no measures were taken against pollution, the amount of emission of pollutant into air would be 36.7 thousand tons per year per square kilometer in 1975, three times more than that of 1970, and it would be the same level as that of United States in 1968. The main sources of air pollution in Seoul are the exhaust has from vehicles and the combustion of bunker-C oil for heating purpose. Thus, it is urgent that an exhaust gas cleaner should be instaled to every car and the fuel substituted by less sulfur-contained-oil to prevent the pollution. Transportation noise (vehicular noise and train noise) is the main component of urban noise problem. The average noise level in downtown area is about 75㏈ with maximum of 85㏈ and the vehicular homing was checked 100㏈ up and down. Therefore, the reduction of the number of bus-stop the strict regulation of homing in downtown area and a better maintenance of car should be an effective measures against noise pollution in urban areas. Within the distance of 200 metres from railroad, the train noise exceeds the limit specified by the pollution control law in Korea. Especially, the level of noise and steam-whistle of train as measured by the ISO evaluation can adversely affect the community activities of residents. To prevent environmental destruction, many developed countries have taken more positive action against worsening pollution and such an action is now urgently required in this country.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a curriculum for the oriental clinical nurse specialist program based on the understanding of Korean human beings so as to develop nursing as a profession and promote the client's health. The design of this study was based on literature review and nominal group study. The research was managed by East-West Nursing Research Institute of nursing science college at Kyung Hee University. The research team was composed of 17 professors of nursing departments of oriental medical colleges. We obtained opinions from Oriental Nurses Association, Oriental Nursing Research Association, and professors in oriental medical college. We reviewed articles, curriculums of other clinical nurse specialist programs, medical laws and the curriculum development plan for the oriental clinical nurse specialist program from Korean Nurses Association. We discussed a curriculum thoroughly in numerous meetings. We developed a following curriculum: 1. Educational philosophy was founded on the oriental human view which was based on Chun-In union theory. It was founded on the oriental health view which recognized health being in harmony with nature and the balance of body function with the harmony of Yin-Yang in the five elements. In addition, it was founded on oriental nursing view to promote these health states. 2. Educational goals were to train oriental clinical nurse specialists, oriental nursing educators and oriental nursing researchers who developed knowledge of oriental nursing theory, nursing practice and created a leadership. 3. Curriculum consisted of 48 credits, of which 36 credits are based on lectures and laboratory classes and 12 credits are based on clinical practice. 36 credits consisted of 5 general subject credits and 31 core subject credits. General subjects consisted of nursing theory, nursing research, law and ethics. Students who had earned master's degrees are not required to take the general subjects. Core subjects consisted of 11 subjects such as advanced physical examination and laboratory, oriental nursing theory, original text of oriental nursing, oriental medical nursing, oriental pediatric nursing, oriental gynecologic nursing, oriental gerontologic nursing, oriental pharmacology, oriental constitutional nursing, advanced nursing of channels and acupuncture points and laboratory and oriental rehabilitation nursing and laboratory. In addition, clinical practice in a hospital ward, out patient department, herb prepation room, department of physical therapy and health promotion center in oriental medical hospitals for 12 weeks. To admit this program, students should complete prerequisites of introduction to oriental nursing and nursing of channels and acupuncture points. 4. Course contents of each subjects were developed to include the course's goal and objectives and specific items. 5. Evaluation involved lecture, laboratory and in field practice. • An algorithm for a hybrid controller consists of a sliding mode control part and a fuzzy logic part which ar purposely for nonlinear systems. The sliding mode part of the solution is based on "eigenvalue/vector"-type controller is used as the backstepping approach for tracking errors. The fuzzy logic part is a Mamdani fuzzy model. This is designed by applying sliding mode control (SMC) method to the dynamic model. The main objective is to keep the update dynamics in a stable region by used SMC. After that the plant behavior is presented to train procedure of adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference systems (ANFIS). ANFIS architecture is determined and the relevant formulation for the approach is given. Using the error (e) and rate of error (de), occur due to the difference between the desired output value (yd) and the actual output value (y) of the system. A dynamic adaptation law is proposed and proved the particularly chosen form of the adaptation strategy. Subsequently VSC creates a sliding mode in the plant behavior while the parameters of the controller are also in a sliding mode (stable trainer). This study considers the ANFIS structure with first order Sugeno model containing nine rules. Bell shaped membership functions with product inference rule are used at the fuzzification level. Finally the Mamdani fuzzy logic which is depends on adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference systems structure designed. At the transferable stage from ANFIS to Mamdani fuzzy model is adjusted for the membership function of the input value (e, de) and the actual output value (y) of the system could be changed to trapezoidal and triangular functions through tuning the parameters of the membership functions and rules base. These help adjust the contributions of both fuzzy control and variable structure control to the entire control value. The application example, control of a mass-damper system is considered. The simulation has been done using MATLAB. Three cases of the controller will be considered: for backstepping sliding-mode controller, for hybrid controller, and for adaptive backstepping sliding-mode controller. A numerical example is simulated to verify the performances of the proposed control strategy, and the simulation results show that the controller designed is more effective than the adaptive backstepping sliding mode controller.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate about security service history on 1930s in Korea. This study used materials by historical facts for the regulations, books and newspapers in 1930s. In 1930s, security service was unknown details of the historical contents so far. There are four parts conclusion of this study: police department of provisional government, security service agency in the provisional government, security service agents of an independence movement, the general society of Korea. Firstly, Korean regional government in Manchuria, which Kokminbu(國民府) organized the security service agency(警護局) for protect government and public security. Most importantly, the security service agency appearanced an important place which were the independence movement and self-governing administration for Koreans in Manchuria. And the security service agency was required by the security service regulations(警護條例) as law. Secondly, diversity activities of security service in police were exposed the duty as 'car escort service(車輛警護)' for offenders, the 'township office guard' from mobsters, 'woodland protect service(林野警護團)' for fire-raisers. security service as police officer were widely application for protection and safety from danger. Thirdly, Mass society was needed to service for public security in daily events such as 'noted singer meeting', 'funeral procession to the graveyard', 'athletic meeting' as private establishment of security service agency in nowadays. people were wanted the private security service(私警護) from 1930s to present. Fourthly, Overseas security service mentioned in attack of politician, protect from poison and security service about train vessel fleet. In 1930s, security service is comprehensive protection which were not only bodyguard, but also safeguard for hazardous materials.

  • This study suggests institutional and methodological approaches for preservation of South Korea's registered cultural properties of modern architecture. The suggested approaches are as follows. First, in order to improve the current registration and preservation system for cultural properties, we need to employ both structure-based classification and style-based classification. Registration criteria for modern architecture properties need to include more detailed classification in terms of their structure: brick structure, steel concrete structure and post lintel structure. In terms of construction style, the properties need to be further classified into the western style, the traditional style and the Korean-western eclectic style. In addition, protection of registered cultural properties need to be achieved through legislation of a protection system. Second, while the current system sets out six methods for preservation of registered cultural properties of modern architecture, more specific preservation methods types and plans need to be continuously introduced. In particular, as for the method of partial preservation, the method needs to be further classified based on the usage of the relevant structure so as to allow for more diverse options. First, the 'Preservation by Interior Alteration' needs to be added to the category, where the exterior is preserved as it is and the interior is preserved through alteration. Also needs to be added the preservation method where the interior space is preserved as it is and the exterior space is altered, in case the finishing materials of the exterior has deteriorated. Third, if the records on registered cultural properties of modern architecture are to provide the functions of legal evidences regarding management of architectural cultural properties, sources of knowledge required for policy making and implementation and past management record for the future, each phase needs to be closely connected in an organic manner, and we need to establish a management system and plan that go beyond the relevant organizations. Fourth, in order to preserve South Korea's registered cultural properties of modern architecture in its original state, it is imperative to prepare separate criteria for registration of technicians with expertise on modern architecture, and train experts and technicians on modern architecture, which is distinguished from the traditional architecture.

  • The purpose of the NCS-based curriculum is to prepare students for practical competencies to perform tasks demanded by industries by applying nationally and industrially developed and certified NCS to the currently held curriculum. In order to achieve this academic goal, education institutions must dedicate their utmost efforts to train trainees to attain flexibility in rapidly changing industry environments and competitiveness to perform the various tasks demanded by industries. The 47th article of the Higher Education Law explains that the purpose of the College corresponds with that of the NCS-based curriculum because the contribution of national and social development is related to the development of an industry. The college purpose and the NCS-based curriculum require close collaboration and cooperation between industries and colleges. This thesis analyzes cases of industry and college cooperation, researches adequate cases that suit the purpose of the NCS-based curriculum and proposes an appropriate industrial-education cooperation model that suits college and NCS-based curriculum by analyzing the cooperation model held by highly acknowledged universities oversea. In addition, this paper proposes a process and guideline to establish the industrial-education cooperation model. The industrial-education cooperation model proposed herein not only practically aligns the NCS-based curriculum to fit the industry environments, but also supports each party in pursuing and achieving its goals through an effective cooperative structure. The NCS-based industrial education model is anticipated to improve colleges' employment rates, allow industries' procurement of brilliant human resources, and contribute to the development of domestic industries through effective college education and training competent professionals for society.

  • In this study, in order to grope for local governments' roles for effective countermeasures for disasters, the researcher did comparative research on such roles of local governments of the USA and japan. In case of the USA and japan, their local governments take the 1st responsibility for quick countermeasures for disasters and cope with disasters in cooperation with central government and NGO, etc. In conclusion, in order to make Korea's system to cope with disasters more effective, first it is necessary to readjust roles of central government and local governments. In other words, in case of the USA and japan, law provides that initial responsibility for coping with disasters lies in local governments. Accordingly, when disaster happens, initial countermeasures are quickly made by local governments. It is also possible for local governments to secure organizations, tools and manpower in their own ways. Therefore, in case of Korea, it is also urgently required to divide roles for disaster management between central government and local governments. Second, it is necessary to establish local disaster management system per type that is proper for regional characteristics and situations. Third, it is necessary to form organic networks between civic groups, local private enterprises, and central government. Fourth, informatization of local disaster management system must be prepared quickly. Finally, in order to do local governments' activities to cope with sites smoothly, specialization of manpower is required. Accordingly, it is necessary to train professional manpower of local governments for disaster management and to develop programs to improve specialty.

  • Adopted in Western Pacific Naval Symposium(WPNS) 2014, Code for Unplanned Encounters at Sea(CUES) has been the most valuable output of WPNS history. Written and suggested by Australian Navy in 1999, the goal of CUES is to decrease the possibility of the naval conflict by establishing the code among international navies in the Western Pacific region. Facing many oppositions and requirement of People's Liberation Army Navy(PLAN) in WPNS 2012 and 2013, but it finally adopted in WPNS 2014, with many changes in detailed provisions. From then, navies in the Western Pacific region have followed CUES to prevent maritime conflicts in the region, CUES, however, sometimes does not work correctly. Contents of CUES is the mixture of the parts of Multinational Maritime Tactical Signal and Maneuvering Book(MTP) and International Regulations for Preventing Collision at Sea 1972(CORLEGs). There are means of radio communications such as frequency and signals, instructions for maneuvering and so on. Thus, it is not a new document for the U.S. Navy and its allies, but it requires training to implicate at sea for navies other than U.S. allies, like PLAN. Lots of provisions in CUES were changed because of the opposition of PLAN, and CUES has many shortcomings and practical limitations. First, since CUES is non-legally binding, and there are no methods to force the naval assets on the sea to follow. Second, CUES is only applied to naval assets; naval ships - warships, naval auxiliaries, and submarines - and naval aircraft. Third, the geographical scope in CUES is not clear. Fourth, there is no provision for submerged submarines. Finally, CUES has no time-based framework or roadmap for training. In this regard, there would be six recommendations for improvement. First, CUES should be reviewed by WPNS or other international institutions, while keeping non-binding status so that WPNS could send signals to the navies which do not answer CUES on the sea. Second, the participation of Maritime Law Enforcements(MLEs) such as coast guard is inevitable. Third, navies would use full text of MTP rather than current CUES, which extracts some parts of MTP. Fourth, CUES needs provisions with respect to submerged submarines, which recognizes as offensive weapons themselves. Fifth, the geographic scope of CUES should be clear. Since there are some countries in which claim that a rock with a concrete structure is their territory, CUES should be applied on every sea including EEZ and territorial seas. Finally, the detailed training plan is required to implicate CUES at sea. Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) is a good exercise to train CUES, because almost all WPNS member countries except six countries are participating in RIMPAC. CUES is a meaningful document not only for navies but also for nation-states in the region. To prevent escalation of conflict in the region, potentially caused by an unplanned collision at sea, CUES should be applied more strictly. CUES will continue to be in subsequent WPNS and therefore continue to improve in the effectiveness as both an operational and diplomatic agreement.
