A linear method for determining three-dimensional motion of a rigid object is presented. In this method, two three-dimensional line correspondences are used. By using three-dimensional information of the features and observing that the rotation is unique regardless of the translation vector, the two components of motion parameters (rotation and translation) are computed separately. Also in this paper, the solution is given without a scale factor which is necessary in other methods that use only the two-dimensional projective constraints.
Some limits are in two-dimensional analysis by finite element method to electromagnetic machine having finite dimension. Therefore three-dimensional analysis by finite element method, which are modeling original form of models are needed in order to gain accurate solutions. This paper present three-dimensional time varing magnetic field analysis method using electric field E and magnetic scarlar potential $\Omega$, and examine sample model.
To inspect the quality of data collected from a large-scale body measurement and investigation project, it is necessary to establish a proper data editing process. The three-dimensional body measurement may have measuring errors caused from measurer's proficiency or changes in the subject's posture. And it may also have errors caused in the process of algorithm expressing the information obtained from the three-dimensional scanner into numerical values, and in the course of data-processing dealing with numerous data for individuals. When those errors are found, the quality of the measured data is deteriorated, and they consequently reduce the quality of statistics which was conducted on the basis of it. Therefore this study intends to suggest a new way to improve the quality of the data collected from the three-dimensional body measurement by proposing a working procedure identifying data errors and correcting them from the whole data processing procedure-collecting, processing, and analyzing- of the 2004 Size Korea Three-dimensional Body Measurement Project. This study was carried out into three stages: Firstly, we detected erroneous data by examining of logical relations among variables under each edit rule. Secondly, we detected suspicious data through independent examination of individual variable value by sex and age. Finally, we examined scatter-plot matrix of many variables to consider the relationships among them. This simple graphical tool helps us to find out whether some suspicious data exist in the data set or not. As a result of this study, we detected some erroneous data included in the raw data. We figured out that the main errors are not because of the system errors that the three-dimensional body measurement system has but because of the subject's original three-dimensional shape data. Therefore by correcting some erroneous data, we have enhanced data quality.

This study analyzed Japan's three-dimensional road system as part of a study on urban regeneration plans through the three-dimensional use of road space. The three-dimensional road system integrates the Road Act, Urban Planning Act, and the Building Standard Act. The advantage of the three-dimensional road system is that landowners can freely use the space above and below the road so that they can live and operate sustainably, and road managers have the advantage of reducing the land acquisition costs because they only acquire rights to the road. In terms of type, it is applied to a variety of integrated and separated structures in elevated roads, underpasses, free passages, parking lots, and monorails. In addition, in the case of development methods, the degree of freedom of development plans is improved by enabling integrated maintenance of roads and buildings. Management stability is improved by applying management and law-based authority according to the Road Act. In this way, the three-dimensional road system provides support to maximize the use of limited available land through the three-dimensional use of road space, and to develop sustainable and good urban areas in development areas.
An experiment was designed to evaluate Fitts' law for the three-dimensional virtual pointing task and to compare the three input devices; Spaceball, Spacemouse, and 3D-Mouse. The result showed that Fitts law fitted poorly for the three-dimensional pointing tasks with relatively low coefficients of determinant. Three reasons, high degree-of-freedom, dynamic egocentric viewpoint change, and clutching problem were discussed to explain the poor fitness of Fitts' law. In terms of device comparison, the 3D-Mouse was superior to the other input devices. Also, the stereoscopic display significantly increased the performance. The results of this study can be used for the design of virtual control tasks and the selection of suitable input devices.

In this paper, The bulging behavior of the solidified shell in continuously cast slabs have been numerically analyzed using three-dimensional elasto-plastic and creep finite element method Three-dimensional model has been applied in order to investigate the effect of the narrow face shell on restraining the bulging deflection. Solidification analysis are carried out by two-dimensional finite difference method. In this way, strains occurring at the solidification front near the narrow face of the slab, as well as those occurring in the board face have been computed. The adequacy of the model has been checked against the experimental results. In addition, the effect of the slab width and casting speed on the bulging are discussed.
The present paper explains some advancement made by the authors for the compressible flow computation of the Euler equations based on the unstructured grid and vertex- centered finite volume method. Accurate solutions to the unsteady axisymmetric shock wave propagation problems and three-dimensional airplane flows have been obtained by a high-order upwind TVD and FCT schemes. Unstructured grid adaption is made for the unsteady shock wave problems by the dynamic h-refinement/unrefinement procedure and for the three-dimensional steady flows by the Delaunay point-insertion method to generate three-dimensional tetrahedral mesh enrichment. Some physics of the shock wave diffraction phenomena and three-dimensional airplane flow are discussed.

An efficient model for three-dimensional analysis of multistory structures with flexible floor diaphragms is proposed in this paper. Three-dimensional analysis of a building structure using a finite element model requires tedious input data preparation, longer computation time, and larger computer memory. The model proposed in this study is developed by assembling a series of two-dimensional resisting systems and is considered to overcome the shortcomings of a three-dimensional finite element model without deteriorating the accuracy of analysis results. Static and dynamic analysis results obtained using the proposed model are in excellent agreements to those obtained using three-dimensional finite element models in terms of displacements, periods, mode shapes.

Inflow broadband noise is generated when turbulence in the rotor wakes impinges on the downstream stator vanes. In this paper a three-dimensional model is developed to investigate the broadband noise due to turbulence-cascade interaction. In the newly-developed model, we consider the effects of incident turbulent gust component in span-wise direction on the inflow broadband noise. The quasi-three-dimensional theory is deduced based on the tonal analytic theory of Smith (1972) and two-dimensional broadband noise generalization by Cheong et al. (2006; 2009). Extending the modified LINSUB code, quasi-three-dimensional computational results are presented. Finally, we compare these computational results with time-domain results to validate the theory.

The objective of this paper is to present the element connectivity parameterization (ECP) fur three dimensional problems. In the ECP method, a continuum structure is viewed as discretized finite elements connected by zero-length elastic links whose stiffness values control the degree of inter-element connectivity. The ECP method can effectively avoid the formation of the low-density unstable elements. These elements appear when the standard element density method is used for geometrical nonlinear problems. In this paper, this ECP method developed fur two-dimensional problems is expanded to the design of three-dimensional geometrical nonlinear structures. Among others, the automatic procedure converting standard finite element models to the models suitable for the ECP approach is developed and applied for optimization problems defined on general three-dimensional design domains.
