A Web-based Cooperative Learning System using Extended TGT Model (확장된 TGT 모델을 이용한 웹기반 협동학습 시스템)

  • As web technology and educational environments are in rapid progress, web-based cooperative learning systems have gained a lot of interests. Recently some studies have attempted to combine a learning system and simple games that enable learners to actively participate and have high interests in learning. These studies are based on TGT model, a cooperative learning model using games, and mostly remain system design levels. A few implemented systems have many problems because they focus only on pure TGT model. To solve these problems, this paper builds a extended TGT model and a new web-based cooperative learning system using this new model. The extended part contains ideas such as expert learning from Jigsaw II model, improvement scores from STAD model and making game problems by learners. A system using pure TGT model and a suggested system are implemented and used by two classes of middle school students to evaluate our system. The experimental results show that our system outperforms the other system.

  • Today, It has developed actively e-learning according to web without time and place which increase of PC user with super-highway information network and various up-to-date information rapid growth. It has to provide the chance to student which will be able to practice and to think free and originative under liberal learning environment that learner can compose knowledge through various thinking by themselves. From the present paper, I would design e-learning system using TGT model of cooperative e-learning system that more effective studying through advantage of e-learning studying. I look forward to helping improvement of student's real ability as embody competitive games method by TGT model's basic theory of web-based.

An effect of time gating threshold (TGT) on a delivered dose in internal organ with movement due to respiration (호흡에 의해 내부 움직임을 갖는 장기에 전달되는 선량에서 Time Gating Threshold(TGT)의 효과)

  • In this study, we investigated the effect of threshold on a delivered dose in organ with internal motion by respiration. With mathematic model for 3D dose calculation reported by Lujan et al., we had calculated the position of organ as a function of time in previous study. This result presented that the variation of organ is within 2 mm from initial exhale position to the organ position during operating 1 s. Gating threshold, in this study, is determined to the moving region of target during 1s at a primary position of exhale. This period of gating threshold is 50% of the duty cycle in a half breathing cycle which is period from the top position of exhalation to the bottom position of inhalation. Radiation fields were then delivered under three conditions; 1) existent of moving target in the region of threshold(1sec, 1.5sec), 2) existent of moving target out of the region of threshold, 3) non-moving target. The non-moving target delivery represents a dose different induced due to internal organ motion.

  • This research studied loaming model for the purpose of renovation of mathematics teaching methods. Especially, this research classified the types of cooperative teaming, the theoretical background for cooperative learning, the need of cooperative learning in school mathematics, and the differences between cooperative teaming and traditional small group learning. This research also suggested special features of cooperative learning and various types of cooperative learning models. The main types of cooperative loaming which this research supported are TAI(Team-Assisted Individualization, JIGSAW cooperative loaming, JIGSAW II cooperative teaming, JIGSAW III cooperative teaming, STAD(Student Team-Achievement division) cooperative learning, and TGT (Teams - Games - Tournament).

A Study On Wartime Sealift Operation Using Simulation

  • The ROK TRANSCOM is trying to establish a concrete wartime sealift operation plan. But there are many problems to be solved for setting up the plan. The most serious problem is to procure war materiel to be shipped in U.S.A and next one is to determine the number of sealift assets and to allocate them. The process of sealift operation can be described as follows. Before the order of vessel mobilization, all vessels appointed for activation would be scattered in worldwide in the state of Beaded or unloaded. After the order of vessel mobilization, vessels would go to SPGE(seaport of embarkation) to load war materiel. Some loaded ships should offload the commercial cargo to the near port as soon as they are activated, before they would go to SPOE. All vessels would load procured materiel in SPOE and then go to SPOD(seaport of debarkation). They would offload war materiel in SPOD and then go back to SPOE to load war materiel again. We will simulate this process using ARENA(1), evaluate the sealift capability of ROK and find omit problems of the sealift plan. This model ultimately evaluates the sealift capability and provides planners with critical information far establishing and correcting the plan. This study can also provide military planners with a flexible and accessible decision support tool to provide advance planning under a variety of conditions on the sealift capability. The military planner is expected to make use of this model as a standard for establishing effective and concrete sealift operation in the near future. We can conclude how procurement capability significantly affects the result of sealift operation through this model. We could decide the appropriate levee of sealift asset such as the number of vessels and the number of available berth. So we could allocate effectively the resources for completing the sealift operation within the TGT(Target) time.
