In this paper, we introduce a phone vector discrete HMM(PVDHMM) that decodes a phone sequence string, and demonstrates the applicability to spoken document retrieval. The PVDHMM treats a phone recognizer or large vocabulary continuous speech recognizer (LVCSR) as a vector quantizer whose codebook size is equal to the size of its phone set. We apply the PVDHMM to decode the phone sequence strings and compare the outputs with those of a continuous speech recognizer(CSR). Also we carry out spoken document retrieval experiment through PVDHMM word spotter on the phone sequence strings which are generated by phone recognizer or LVCSR and compare its results with those of retrieval through the phone-based vector space model.

The purposes of this study were to explain consumer attitude, expenses and satisfaction of mobile-phone Users. The data of this study used from Pollever.com. This study was satisfaction of mobile-phone users in Korea. The users were consumers of Samsung, LG, SK-Telecom and Pantack. The critical success factor was on the subside for mobile-phone in the growth of mobile service, which we can analyze in its positive effects. Fifty percent of consumers were unsatisfaction with local companies without Samsung. Now most of local mobile-companies will developed music-phone, high-tec camera-phone, hi-slim phone, and health-phone. But, the results of this study are as fallow: Most of consumer' main issues were design, weight, and brand power. It was in that it played the driving force to upgrade the local mobile-phone services into international level with the explosive growth in business by providing cheap phones.

We have proposed and demonstrated noncontact refractometer incorporating a fiber bundle. The fiber bundle is composed of a TEC(thermally expended core) fiber and hundreds multimode fibers. The fiber is designed in such a way that the detected reflected optical power from a liquid is constant against the distance between fiber bundle and liquid surface. Low differactive characteristic of TEC fiber make it possible to increase the available distance between the fiber bundle and liquid surface, The obtained sensitivity, optical intensity variation by change of refractive index of liquid is 0.4.

In this paper, we introduce mel-cepstrum modulation energy (MCME) for a feature to discriminate speech and music data. MCME is a mel-cepstrum domain extension of modulation energy (ME). MCME is extracted on the time trajectory of Mel-frequency cepstral coefficients, while ME is based on the spectrum. As cepstral coefficients are mutually uncorrelated, we expect the MCME to perform better than the ME. To find out the best modulation frequency for MCME, we perform experiments with 4 Hz to 20 Hz modulation frequency. To show effectiveness of the proposed feature, MCME, we compare the discrimination accuracy with the results obtained from the ME and the cepstral flux.

We present a GPS-derived regional ionosphere model, which estimates Total Electron Content (TEC) in rectangular grids on the spherical shell over Korea. The GPS data from nine GPS stations were used. The pseudorange data were phase-leveled by a linear combination of pseudoranges and carrier phases. During a quiet day of solar activity, the regional ionosphere map indicated 30-45 Total Electron Content Unit (TECU) at the peak of the diurnal variation. In comparison with the Global Ionosphere Map of the Center for Orbit Determination in Europe, RMS differences were at the level of 4-5 TECU for five days.

본 논문에서는 한국어 정서음성 데이터베이스를 수집하는 과정을 기술하고 및 데이터베이스의 특성에 관해서 논의한다. 데이터베이스는 배우로부터 수집되었으며 주관적 평가에 의해 평가되었다. 배우는 남녀 각 3인씩 총 6인이며, 6가지 정서상태에 의해 10개의 문장을 발성하였고 20명의 평가자가 음성에 포함된 정서상태를 독립적으로 평가하였다. 작성된 데이터베이스는 임의제시 방법에 의한 주관적 평가결과 $80\%$이상의 일치도를 얻었다.

최근 연속 음성 인식에서의 성능 향상을 위하여 음절을 인식 단위로 사용하고자 하는 노력들이 보고되고 있다. 그러나 음절의 경우 음소에 비해 학습성이 좋지 않고 모델의 수가 많으므로 음절 경계에서의 문맥 종속 모델링이 어렵다는 단점을 갖고 있다. 본 논문에서는 음절의 이러한 단점을 극복하기 위하여 모노폰과 트라이폰을 이용하여 음절 모델을 합성하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 모델은 트라이폰에 비하여 평균 $55\%$, PTM에 비하여 평균 $13\%$의 인식 속도 향상을 보이며, 동일한 속도일 경우 PTM, 트라이폰 모델 모두에 대하여 ERR이 약$8\%$ 향상됨을 볼 수 있었다.
